I would like to add that living in Suffolk & with no desire to move home to West London, I don't feel that I should have any say in the development either. I support Queens Park Rangers, not the Tune Group etc.
If a new stadium is what the club require, then that is what the club should be aiming for as a priority & not as a by product. Which is what it is with Old Oak.

I can understand Green's point of view & believe that the club are just as culpable as he is.
However, the point at issue is that Green is NOT GOOD ENOUGH to be in the side & should be (at best) our third choice goalkeeper. How Smithies was not played from the day he joined is a mystery (and not just hindsight) & is a question that Ramsey, Ferdinand, Warnock, JFH & TF should answer. The common denominator in those names is that they are all subservient to TF. I suspect Green played, as did Fer, Sandro etc, to try to realise some cash on him in January. A ploy that backfired badly.
Can anybody throw any light on the comment that the club wouldn't do business with West Ham?

Can't argue with the clubs intentions and foresight and do believe that with Ramsey's experience with youth development he is the right man to oversee this. However the last time he had a brief, the goalposts were suddenly moved costing him his job rightly or wrongly. Would getting an undeserved play-off place see them moved again and all this good intention go down the tubes seeing JFH forced to abandon his rebuilding plans? I'm not apologising for saying it but the play- offs are simply unwanted this year. I don't see why getting a play-off place or even winning the play-offs should derail these plans. As long as the owner's expectations are kept in check and they realise that these plans are the most important aspect facing them right now, then the monies received from being in the Premiership could go a long way to realising these plans sooner rather than later. It seems to me that our owners actions in how they run the club in the event of promotion, based on previous years, are what seem to be worrying the fanbase, rather than actual promotion itself. That is probably correct Mark. However, I see no reason to believe that TF etc. wouldn't revert to their poven unworkable formula. Mind you, this current policy may not be in operation next season. I think we have changed our business plan every six months (maximum) since their reign began.

I can't disagree with a word of that 57.
we are building a side for next season & it don't look too bad. Still a lot to be done but we are moving in he right direction.
They worked so hard tonight & managed to put a few moves together in the first half. MOM? James perch imo.

Due to illness I have a ticket available for tomorrow. He might be in his 30's now but bloody children, who'd have them!
I will be leaving Ipswich around 11.00 but can meet anyone on route, at a pub or outside the gound.
Cheers

Today was a total team effort. Nobody was outstanding, but everyone played well. We were a TEAM!
The defence looked very comfotable, the midfield was in control & we caused problems upfront.
What more can you ask for?
Apart from "sitting" with Bowles & Roller rather than my normal seat, the best bit today was our attitude. We can't move far in either direction in the table this season, but we played as if the result & performance was all important! I wassn't too happy when I saw the selected side. However, if JFH is selecting on a match to match basis based on our opponents that can only be good.
I also like the idea that he is giving everyone an opportunity to play & impress him.
Thank you Rangers. I had a great day!

Harry R did a good job?
At the prices & wages we were paying all of his staff & players I don't think so!
That was possibly the worst Championship I can recall & some of the away performances make the recent Fulham game look decent!
Don't forget that we are still waiting to find out how much we have to pay in FFP for his "sucess".
IMO he rates alongside Docherty as the two managers that took the piss out of us & gave nothing in return. We should never have appointed him & accepted that we were already relegated & started re-building when Hughes went.
Yes, I am disappointed that we are not playing better than at present, but our record & league position are exactly as I expected this season. Give me JFH's draws any day over the under performing dross that edknapp served up!

£500 a month? Mug. Doesn't he know there's a group available for a few free season tickets, mainly bullshitee but the very occasional bit of correct "ITK' info, the odd round in a pub (with photos) and a plastic drum. And what an excellent job they did as well. Carried out their instructions to the letter & didn't upset anyone. How I miss Free Seat & his impartiality!

Yesterday.
Firstly we were awful from the first minute to the last. Fulham came out to compete, we came out as if that was enough to win the game. Smithies was the only starter to escape repsonsibility.
However, having said that, the one "positive" from yesterday is that we did try to the end.
The problems were collective rather than individual even though I could point to certain people as responsible for the three goals (none of which was Tozser). This though is irrelevant. It was just a matter of time before they scored & it could have been anyone that was culpable.
The amount of passes that were played inside our full backs were numerous & all caused us problems. Perhaps the positioning of Perch & Konchesky was questionable, but they received no cover from the centre backs or the wide men in front of them. Perhaps Hall & Onohua could not give cover as they were struggling to cope with no cover in front of them. Whatecver the reason, defensively this was the worst I've seen us since away to Tottenham last season!
With hindsight, the team selection was probably wrong, but I don't think too many argued against the starting eleven if Faurlin & Washington were not fit to play all game. Yes, I would have picked Tozser. This would have been solely based on his performance against Ipswich. Mind you, if we hadn't loaned out Doughty he would have been my preference. However, he was attrocious & his lack of performance had a direct effect on Luongo.
Now to something more contentious! Jamie Mackie. As everyone would expect, Mackie gave us 100% for every minute of the game. What his appearance on the pitch also did was disrupt Polter, Philips & Hoillet. I'm afraid he doesn't fit in with the rest of the side. El Khayati(sp)was out best outfield player & I hope he is rewarded with a starting place next week instead of one of our usual wide men.
Finally, to answer Jimbo Rangers on not606. What does the "over rated" Ale Faurlin give to this team? Yesterday gave the answer more succinctly than I ever could!

I'm not sure how they are both right Sharky.
I know of no other club, business, organisation etc. that tries to date it's existence to anything other than the date of union.
You can state that you can trace your origins to an earlier date, but that is different to when the company was created.
I don't know if this example is of relevance, but I was born in 1952 & my wife was born in 1956. These are the dates of our formations. However, the date of our marriage of 1975 is when we united (the date of the amalgamtion). Therefore I've been married for 41 years & not 63!

We continued our improvement with every game we are playing. It was also nice to see every player, including Phillips, commit themselves to the team's cause.
We have a goalkeeper! Not only does Smithies look confident, in control & have good ball handling, he also talks! His catch of a corner after we had scored was superb. I can't remamber when I last saw a Rangers 'keeper do that! It may have been Chris Day!
Until we scored, the defence looked very much at ease.
Faurlin & Luongo completely ran the midfield. Their ball winning & distribution were a class above Ipswich & Tozzer had his best game for us when he came on. Can someone please tell me if Ale went off as an injury precaution, following his knock in the first half? If so, what is the injury & how long is it likely to keep him out? We are a different team when he is playing!
Junior created some chances, but had his Tommy Williams moment when he didn't pass to Connor Washington! Polter worked so hard but his first touch was a little stroppy! Phillips tried after he had shirked his first challenge, but IMO he had the least effect on the game of our players. However, he scored! That will do me.
El Khayati looks to have some promise & if he continues to mishit his shots & we score from them it will be great!
Now we come to Connor Washington. The boy can play! Our two January transfers have seen my excitement levels rise considerably!
All in all, it's not a bad night to live in Ipswich!

Even assuming that everyone is fit, I'm still struggling to come up with mine. I'd stick with a non-defensive 4-2-3-1, but am struggling to partner Ale in the 2. Smithies Perch Onouha Hall Konchesky - (Robinson to come on after 60 minutes to continue his rehabilitation) Faurlin Henry - (God help me - please recall Doughty) El Khayati Luongo Hoilett Polter Bench: Ingram Angella Robinson Washington Phillips Petrasso Mackie I'm being a little conservative here Roller. I would much prefer to leave the (IMO) over rated & under working Phillips out of the side, but I think El Khayati probably needs another weeks acclimitisation. Therefore, Luongo alongside Faurlin with Washington & Phillips joining Junior. No problem with Chery or Petrasso instead of Phillips though!

I'm reasonably happy with the window.
My only problem is that we still have Green on the payroll & that we have not managed to receive a fee for Phillips. Full, rather than loan deals, would have been nice for Sandro & Fer, but realistically that was not going to happen!

Just to note: Fer Deal IS "subject to International Clearance" True and strange that Sandro's was not reported as subject to clearance - makes me think that deal was in the pipeline for a while and only announced once clearance was given ...... or maybe someone has forgotten something again Sandro already has international clearance. Fer will require this as he is joining a Welsh club. This should be just a formality (unless he owes Rangers or the FA money)! I know from experience that gaining clearance from some of the smaller nations is a nightmare though!

Every "Just Back" that I have seen has been very positive about the performance last night.
The only negative would appear to be only four shots on target. A total of seventeen shots in an away game is quite good though.
It is also good that we have a proper goalkeeper playing now. He even covers his near post!

I also saw him that day Mac.
That Burnley team was very good. I was only approaching eight when they won the Championship but I can name most of that side! Blacklaw, Angus, Elder, Adamson, Nelson, Harris, Connelly, Pointer, Crawford, McIlroy, Pilkington from memory (might not be all correct though!)
Mind you, I couldn't tell you who played for City last season though!
RIP Ray.

Rather than keep repeating my own personal mantra on here which understandably may get on some peoples nerves perhaps I should be E mailing Les Ferdinand instead and put the following Questions to him. 1 Why did you think Chery was better than Hoilett and Luongo better than Faurlin? 2 Why have you signed players that are a lot inferior to Zamora and Barton not to mention Vargas and Isla. 3 Did you think Gobern Gladwin and JET and Tozer would be an improvement on Fer Phillips and Sandro. 4 Is Angella better than Caulker? 5 Did you think that Perch was any better than one or two of our promising youth team defenders who were starting to come through and now have been discarded 6 It seems you thought that Mackie and Konchesky were not yesterdays men and Smithies was better than McCarthy. Why? Obviously the situation changes when a club is relegated from the premiership and to some extent the bed we have made for ourselves over the years we now have to lie in it. Also there is the cloud of FFP....but the bottom line is the bottom line. I am concerned about the Spiral of decline though I am ultra confident we will not get relegated this year. In the end Charlie Austin was not replaced by a Striker from Barnoldswick Utd ...but one from Peterborough United instead. I am uneasy about this signing but could be wrong. Feel free to rub my nose in it if I am mistaken about Washington. I wont mind a bit if he turns out to be a prolific Championship goal scorer for us. Kerrins, Not that my view is any more correct than anyone else's & obviously we don't agree on some of the players named in your questions, but I thought it would be challenging to try to give my answers! 1) I regarded Chery as a replacment for Fer rather than Hoilett & feel that Luongo is our second most creative passer of the ball (behind Faurlin). I don't think either were to replace the players you mentioned. 2) Barton wouldn't sign a new contract so retaining him was not an option. Zamora may have been worth keeping but I expect Polter to score more in a season than Bobby would. No, Seb is nowhere near as good a player though! 3) Although I don't like Fer, Phillips or Sandro, they are certainly better than the three additions you mentioned. 4) YES. Karl Ready was better than Caulker! 5) I would prefer Harriman or Furlong any day. 6) IMO Smithies is better than Green & McCarthy & should have been playing all season. His record at Huddersfield was far better than McCarthy had with Reading. Just my opinion & not to be treated as fact! Of course, things changed when the club were unsucessful in selling our stars in the summer.

Is four million not better than the zero we would get in the summer? Yes, they may receive a better offer in a bidding war, but would Charlie agree to go to Newcastle, West Brom etc? What I don't understand is how the board have suddenly added some realism! The BS of Fernandes/Ferdinand Axing Ramsey because we should be challenging for promotion The failure to sell Austin in the Summer if not for 15 million...then 14, 13, 12, 11 whatever The failure to extend Austin's contract after our promotion... I only meant the realism in accepting four million for Charlie now. Realism wasn't meant to apply to anything else! Perhaps we do now have hope that we can get rid of Green, Fer, Phillips, Sandro etc. Accepting offers for those will test this board!

You look at that side & wonder how we had drifted towards relegation!
I loved the Gordon Jago era, but he didn't have a bad starting place with the amount of ability in that side.
I can't remember, so Bushman or other's of over 40 years of support, please remind me what went wrong with the end of Les Allen's role as manager?
