I dont think he has been talking to Newcastle and Villa when he says he is in discussions. My bet is in this order favourites for his services. Sheff Utd Blackburn Cardiff Forest C Sheffield United have taken the Northampton manager. Think Cardiff have also appointed.

The one good thing about this, is that Manchester United have passed the best training exercise they will ever face.
I can't for the life of me understand how the training company can plant x number of "bombs" & go home with y!

Superb Roller.
This doesn't just encapsulate Clint Hill. It is your writing at it's best. Written from the heart!
Thank you for this, it brought a tear to my eye!
I'm not sure how I will get through your tribute to Ale once you have produced it!

Disappointing day at QPR! Can understand the club releasing Faulin after him not excepting the position of squad member and not guaranteed to play as I can understand Faulin not excepting the position. What I find hard to believe is as a club that has been in turmoil for years we allow the one player who characterises everything that the supporters want in a QPR player to leave! JFH says that the next CB that we sign needs to be young and able to play 46 games a season and that would be lovely but if the player we sign is unable to do that because of suspension or injury Clint Hill could have stepped in for a few games and what better character to coach and encourage two young CB's? He could have also been a real ambassador for the club with the young players showing them what the fans expect from players who pull on the "HOOPS". I watched him closely on Saturday against Bristol City and he never stopped talking to Kepekwa and Hall guiding and encouraging them. At one point in the game Kepekwa made a mistake and as the move broke down Clint Hill went over to him, gave him a pat and a nod and moved on. No words spoken but said everything the young man needed to know! For me letting Clint Hill leave our club is massive mistake and hopefully somebody at the club will see the error of their ways and find something for Mr QPR. For years I have had no affection or connection with any players who pulled on the shirt but in Clint Hill and also Shaun Derry I have admired them greatly not always as players but Men and leaders! Although I'm very sad that Ale Faurlin is leaving Rangers, I very much understand why he wouldn't except a new contract as a sqwuad player. Why would he sign & except that situation? That is not to say that Ale expected to be an automatic selection. It has everything to do with him wanting to play the game that he loves. He has missed three and a half years. Of course playing every week is far more important! I even understand & have sympathy with the decision to release both players. I do think though, that the club could have handled this far better. The chances are that the decisions on Ale & Clint were made previous to last weekend. Therefore, the support base should have been informed so that both players could have received the acclaim they both deserved. Delaying the announcement till today could be a big marketing mistake.

My wish is that the club had announced this prior to Saturday so that Ale (and Clint) could have been given the send off that they deserved.
Thank you Ale. Watching you play for Rangers has been wonderful. If in London & available, please join us in the pub before a game!
If anyone knows of a way for us non facebook, twitter, instagram fellows to show Ale our gratitude please let me know.
Hopefully, this will prove a good decision for you Ale & that you continue to play for a few more years. You will be very welcome on any return to the Bush.
To anyone at the club, or someone who can convey a message to the club, if possible please arrange something to give us a chance to say goodbye.
ALE FAURLIN, a Queens Park Rangers legend!

One match suspension.
He will be playing against Leicester next sunday.
* Forget this. I've just read that this was his second sending off this season. Therefore he will have a two match ban.
What a shame!

My question would be; Is it fair to Smithies & Ingram to keep them both, so that one of them was not playing?
They are of an age that they need first team football!

Even though Basingstoke have been relegated from The Conference South, I understand that they are going full time professional next season!
I don't know, but I would imagine that this would mean that Basingstoke play nearly all teenagers (& possibly these would all have been released from league sides) & that the two clubs aere combining on the educational side as well as through trialling players.

I don't think they are comparable, but you can never be sure where the law is involved!
At the time it would have been nearly impossible for Guiterrez to have found a different employer, whereas Green has chosen to decline offers from other clubs.
Mind you, the club would find if difficult to explain to a court why they has been selecting Green until January when he wasn't the best goalkeeper at the club!

Well, we were never in with a chance of the play offs!
I would be staggered if we were to have any heavy defeats. Defeats quite opossible, but this group of players keep to a system & are giving 100% effort.
Personally, I am plesed that Gladwin (and others) will be given a chance to show if they should be included in the plans for next season. I wouldn't expect wholesale changes to be made, but maybe a couple of players will be moved into the match squad every game.

RIP Johan, the greatest player I've seen play. If I was younger I might accept that Messi is on a par or even better, but nobody ever compares with your hero's when you are young!
I never had the pleasure/privilege of watching Hidgekuti(sp) & only saw Pele in a friendly at Villa Park. Cruyff was IMO, at least a class (probably a league) above Maradonna & Best.
He was also the inspiration behind Ajax & the wonderful Holland side of that time. Ajax first came to prominence in '67 when they scored five against Liverpool in the European Cup. A tie that 'pool were expected to win at a canter! This was soon followed by a UEFA Cup win & three consectutive Champions trophies.
They were magnificent! Only Real in the '50's & this centuries Barcelona run them close. Cruyff missed there first champions win at Wembley due to a brojken leg. The worship he received as he walked round the ground on his crutches was even greter than the team received!
Thank you Sir.
Just shows how good my memory is! It was Krol that missed the game at Wembley because of a broken leg. Cruyff was playing!

I think it will come down to the results from the Norwich home games with Sunderland & Newcastle. They also have a game at Palace to play, so don't rule those Eagles entirely out of the equation.

Cheers 57.
I also have this theory that we "gifted" the six points to Fulham as part of a Love Thy Neighbour scheme.
This would explain our normal record against London teams!

No it is not a long way from that 57.
It is MY OPPINION (not a definite fact) that it was the preference of TF that he wanted them to play. Therefore, I would think that we can blame TF for that!
All I'm basing this on is TF stating that WE HAD to play them. Not once did he say that they played because this was the choice of JFH, Warnock or Ramsey.
It really ain't worth disagreeing about. I will have one view & others will have a different view. Neither of us will be definitely right & neither of us will be definitely wrong,.

TF stated in his interview with Clive whittingham that we had to play Green, Fer & Sandro so that they were in the shop window for January. My interpretation of that is that Ramsay, Warnock & Hasselbank knew where they stood. Of course it is possible that Smithies, Chery & Luongo came into the side whe JFH was satisfied they could fit in. It is also possible that obstacles to their selection had been removed.
Another interpretation is that LF is in charge of transfers and it was agreed between LF Warnock and JFH who they should play and TF was not involved in the decision. Its called team work rather than dictatorship. Of course playing 3 experienced PL and International players ahead of 3 younger players signed from the Championship or below for the future is a major crime for which TF should take full responsibility and fall on his sword.
Of course If they had not played and had not been loaned out TF would have to accept full responsibility as a dictator and fall on his sword.
Personally having Chery and Luongo have to fight for their places, learn the extra things they needed to add to their game has benefited them greatly and is starting to benefit th team. Simply leaving Chery in the team strutting around and being brilliant is small doses as he did at the start of the season would have only ended up with him being lesser player than he is now. Finding the right position for Luongo and adding the hard work needed to his game has had a similar result.
Of course, that is another interpretation. Like everything that is not defined in black & white all of us can have a different definition. I have given you my view. I would be very surprised if all of you agreed with that version! Do I think that TF would have categorically stated you must play so & so to the manager? NO. Do I think that he would have told the management that we needed to sell these players in January? YES. Do I think that he would have expressed a view that we would sell at a higher price if they were playing? YES. My apologies for doing a harr & quoting statistics, but since the start of February we have won 50% of our games & have collected 14 ponts out of a total of 24. Co-incidence that this is post Fer, Sandro etc? Maybe. I just happen to feel that it is not! Policy decisions should be made by the board of the club, not the footballing side of managemnent. I think this was the case with Green not now playing & why Fer & Sandro were preferred to Chery & Luongo whenever possible. Of course, TF could have told the footballing side to sell those players (board decision) & that they decided the best way to dos o was by playing them (footballing decision). We will never no!

I think we can blame TF for this. His showcasing of our "premier" players to gat them moved on in January has a lot to answer for! Sorry Terry, but that's just too big a leap. Are you seriously saying that TF was telling JFH which players to pick? It is just possible that he started picking Chery & Luongo once he was satisfied they could fit in to the way he wanted the team to play.

Today, we were magnificent. It is years since I saw a more professional Queens Park Rangers!
No, not from a pure footballing prospective. Indeed, I think Brentford played more of that than we did.
What we were though was a TEAM. Everyone gave their all & wanted the clean sheet desperately. It is quite a time since I saw us in so much harmony. Added to this we had THREE LEADERS on the pitch. Clint & Ale were driving the rest on all game & our "Big Friendly Giant" (otherwise known as BFG) led from the front superbly.
The third goal summed it up for me. Eight players (including Chery) are going mad. Smithies stays in his area & on the halfway line Hill & Faurlin hug each other & wait for the others to return. There was another fifteen minutes to play & they couldn't waste their energy celebrating!
Just one more game for the two of them to get through then they can have a two week break!

Nice win , two on the bounce first for JFH and great to finally get a derby victory, well done. A happy Saturday. Chery really should have been starting months ago. But he got there in the end as he did with Luongo. I think we can blame TF for this. His showcasing of our "premier" players to gat them moved on in January has a lot to answer for!
