This is what Steve Cotterill had to say about his laziness:
"It was very sad really. I've been a big supporter for Jay. When people look at him and see his laid-back style and then suggest he doesn't care – it's the total opposite."
Take it for what it's worth considering they went up and didn't keep him.

Seems to me our priorities right now should be right back (we don't have a single one at the club really) and Strikers.
Right Backs Alvas Powell, Portland Timbers - 20-year-old Jamaican International with silly pace who has been growing by leaps and bounds in MLS which is probably a Championship or League One level. I'll be interested to see how he gets on at the Copa America this summer. Andy Wilkinson, Free - Out of contract at Stoke, still only 30-years-old and while not every Stokies favorite he gives his all and can do a job at Championship level. Rhys Bennett, Rochdale - Can play Center back or right back, only 24 and the PL has been sniffing around. Strikers Keifer Moore, Free - He was just released by Yeovil (I know, I know not a great sign) but he's only 22, he's 6 foot 5, and he plays both center back and striker. We could probably get him for £1,500/week, why not take a flyer and try to coach him up? Duje Cop, Dinamo Zagreb and Cagliari - Helped keep his Italian side up while there on loan. Still room to grow at 25. Ishak Belfodil, Free - I think he was a target of ours last summer and had to terminate his contract with Parma because the club have gone tits up. Life really is more interesting with at least one north african diva. Carlos Munoz, Al Ahli and Chile - I know our two Chileans were identified as 'bad egss' last season but they were also the best players on the pitch when they featured I thought. He's scored 3 times in 10 appearances for Chile and didn't play much this season for his club because of some weird transfer dealings. Could be a cheaper version of Vargas which would be fine with me.

Apparently they didn't even offer him a new contract so there are a few teams after him. Big lad who can play on the wing or up front. I like him.
I don't know though Bristol City have the 8th biggest city in England to themselves (aside from L2 Rovers) and will soon have a redeveloped 29,000 seater stadium. Are we really that big a step up? They could be a sleeping giant.

Why would J-E-T move from Bristol (a team just promoted) to us? Seems a lateral move at best considering how well he has been doing at Bristol City.

We need a Right Back no?
Why not DeAndre Yedlin on loan from Spurs? He's not playing, he's young and he has pace to burn. Looked like a revelation at the World Cup last year.
Certainly Sir Les could pull some strings at his old club.

Also, this quote from an interview with a BFC fan site might tell you where he stands on ticket prices which I know is a big issue...he doesn't make promises about lowering prices but at least he's thought it through.
“My job is to try and maximise what I can, not because I’m trying to skim the fans, but because it’s about putting the product on to the pitch. I can charge less, but then it’s like any business, if I charge less, you’re going to get a lesser product. Is that what you want, because if I put out a team of League One players, guess where we’ll end up? It’s dead simple. What do you really want? It’s just trying to get the balance right, trying to find the logical entry level prices, because a season ticket behind the goal, we do a 10-monthly interest free period. That’s £329, that comes out for less than £15 a match, over the course of a season. So I am trying to get those entry level prices in.”

Burnley's website indicated this has been in the works for a while. Apparently his family is in London and he's been wanting to be closer to them.

He was at Southampton for two seasons just after they had been relegated from the PL and my impression is that he walked into a quickly deteriorating situation (guess he hasn't learned his lesson in that regard) and may have been given responsibilities he was not originally hired, and therefor prepared, for. As for Leicester and Burnley, I think any one of us would have snapped your hand off if you offered us the stability, work rate and work ethic of those teams. Not saying he is responsible for all of that, but surely it's clear he has yet to oversee a complete s%*t show like we have at Rangers. None of those teams are 160 million pounds in debt
Plus, he sold us Charlie didn't he?

Burnley, Southampton and Leicester three moderately sized clubs who have had success and seem well run, this looks really goo...And he's terrible and everyone hates him.
Alright then.

When it comes to Taraabt and Hoilett I think you take what you can get in the interest of moving on. They are albatrosses around the neck of the club.
The rest of them seem like they should be worth far less than we bought them for considering their performances. Caulker has now been relegated twice on the trot and Sandro can not only not get on the field because he's injured all the time, but he appears to be a player without a work permit.

GK: McCarthy, Murphy Defenders: Onouha, Dunne, Suk-Young, Furlong, Donaldson, Ehmer, Robinson, Hill Midfielders: Henry, Faurlin, Petrasso, Doughty Strikers: Grego-Cox, Zamora
---------------
I kept one 'old head' at each position (Zamora, Henry, Dunne and Hill) Guys with good attitudes who work hard and provide leadership.
Obviously we would have to get a couple of strikers and midfielders in (loans and signings), preferably a forward with some size who can fill the Bobby role and learn from him, holding up the ball and laying it off and then pace, pace, pace!
Petrasso, Ehmer, Doughty, Furelong and Donaldson are all youth team products who have either seen some action this season or have been plying their trade in the lower leagues on loan. Ehmer I know is consistently man of the match for Gillingham. Let's see if they can make the step up.

In one scenario I had us drawing West Ham, losing to Liverpool, drawing Man City, beating Newcastle and losing to Leicester and still staying up!

www.thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?Competition=1&submitform=NextReally interesting. I've done it twice and each time I ended up with Hull and Sunderland as the bottom two teams although my gut tells me that Sunderland will somehow manage to stay up because they always seem to manage it. Once I had us going down with them, another time Burnley was the other relegated team. It seems like all the momentum is with the teams that are currently in the bottom three but I: bet there will be another swing of the pendulum before it's all said and done.

That was only our 5th draw of the season while Sunderland have 14 and Hull 10. Inability to park the bus and the keep the ball out of the back of the net has killed us. If we had managed even two or three more draws we would be in a much better position.

Green Furlong, Onuoha, Hill, Caulker, Yun Isla, Sandro, Phillips Vargas, Austin
Murphy Henry Zamora Ferdinand Doughty Grego-Cox
-----------------
5 at the back? Why not? Clint as a sweeper keeps all the young guys in line. He actually loves the club and will give his all unlike Rio who is just cashing a check.
Maybe Vargas is injured I'm not sure but he provides some much needed pace along with Furlong and Yun are encouraged to push forward. Late in the game you can pull Hill and slot in Zamora or a midfielder.
Bobby Z finished the game instead of starting it, plays maybe the last 20 minutes when the defense is tired and he can assert himself physically.

So predictable.
Rangers have 3 or 4 chances they don't take. The visitors get one decent chance, score it, and we're 1-0 down.

We seem to be a side that very rarely surprises.
Burnley, Leicester and Villa all have wins or draws over teams you wouldn't expect them to be able to hang with. Burnley beat Southampton and drew Man City, Man U and Chelsea. Leicester has their vaunted win over Manure, plus a win over Spurs and a draw with Arsenal. Villa drew Manure and Southampton and beat Liverpool.
We have our draw with Man City. All of our wins are over teams 13 and down in the current table.
So...we're due!!!! UR'ssssss
