Final nail in the coffin , start planning for championship , Ramsey back to his old job , review the ridiculous director of football position , go for Clement or McLaren and have a major player clear out .

Tonight's result had absolutely no effect on our season whatsoever.
We were down anyway, regardless of what Hull did.
The sad thing is that Liverpool were complete pony tonight, but we'll make them look like Barcelona on Saturday.
All tonight did was guarantee that Sunderland are coming with us into the Championship.

We should of replaced Redknapp with Eddie Howe after we won the playoff final, but it would of seemed a harsh decision at the time.

Missed out the bit about the chairman standing down! That is probably the only thing that will happen.

We know no matter how terrible a team is playing, how awful their form is, they WILL hammer us, they WILL look like Barca and us Sunday league. We know it, they know it, everyone knows it. I expect quite a few teams will be sad to see us and their guaranteed 6 points a season go down!

Well we've got to get at least a point from Anfield. Ideally a shock win...Then at least we still have a (very small) chance

We're done.
Move on.
I've accepted its the Championship for weeks now. Honestly, once you let go of the false hope you'll be fine.

Could you let us know when we were last hammered by clubs that looked like Barca and made us look Sunday league? I'm remembering not being given 2 stonewall penalties against Spurs and losing by 1 goal, I'm remembering one individual error against Chelsea when we'd arguably been the better team and losing by 1 goal, I'm remembering a missed penalty and a goal wrongly disallowed against West Ham and drawing 0-0. Apart from the game at Palace when we were truly awful, we haven't been hammered or made to look Sunday League at all this year (I'm talking about PL, not cups) To survive in the PL, you need some luck. We certainly haven't had our share. If we were given just one of those penalties against Spurs, If Green hadn't scuffed his clearance against Chelsea, If Austin had scored that penalty and/or Dunne's goal wasn't disallowed, we wouldn't be having this conversation yet the performances would have been the same.

I think we were one or two or three players short Perhaps a manager short
Perhaps we "deserve" to go down, but certainly there is a very narrow margin between success (Staying up) and failure (going down). This is nothing like 1968/69
The tragedy is that missing safety by just a point is meaningless. It's all or nothing

We had a pen against West Ham and missed it, so luck has got jack all to do with it. "We didn't get the rub of the green" is the sad song of the yellow bellied loser bird. You go down because of what you do or don't do over 38 games not a few isolated unlucky moments in odd games. Too many late goals conceded in truly schoolboy fashion has done us in. Most all of our problems have been of our own making. We have no one to blame but ourselves for being one of the 3 teams that will deservedly go down this season. If anybody can cry unfair it's Burnley, who spent next to nothing on their team when they came up and gave Dyche no chance to compete on a remotely level playing field with the rest of the division. Us and Sunderland are both in top 10 for wages paid, I believe. Bad luck my arse.

At no point did I even intimate that Austin's penalty miss was down to bad luck. The point of my post was in direct reply to jj's remark about us getting hammered by teams looking like Barca with us looking like Sunday league. I was pointing out that this hasn't been the case for a large number of games and we've very rarely been hammered this season. We've ALSO (see what I did there) not had the rub of the green in some recent games in which, on another day, we could have taken points from with the same performances. I'm well aware o-f the team's failings this season but, as I said earlier, fine margins.

Apparently Austin's head went after the penalty miss on Saturday. Don't think it'll take much for the rest to follow now, which is why I think Liverpool will turn us over. No doubt Leicester will do tonight what we couldn't do against Chelsea.

Still, I quite enjoy the Championship, more exciting than the premier league.
