Couldn't make it due to family illness so probably counted in the attendance as we are both ST Holders.
Current form suggests we are now one of the best sides in the division which is a major turnaround from a few weeks ago. Saw the possession stats from last night and recall when we were playing 'tippy tap' football and having most possession but losing.
At the end of the day how many goals did we score v's how many we concede.
Clean sheets are always a good indicator and another shut out last night must be testimony that we are in much better shape than we were.
I just hope that it all doesn't go to our heads and we start talking about play-offs. One game at a time, get enough to stave off relegation first!

At the end of the day a draw was a fair result. The ref didn't have the best of games but he made errors for both sides so I reckon they evened themselves out. They looked a stronger, more physical side than us although we competed well in all areas. There were some last ditch tackles when they had men spare, but we hit the bar.
For a change the game provided some good entertainment and sometimes that has been sadly lacking. Derby are a good side and will no doubt finish above us but we held our own and competed.
Perhaps the players are slowly waking up to the fact that Loftus Road loves players that try and compete. We're quite a forgiving bunch really.
Eze is a concern for me and I am in the minority that I'm not sure his England recall is necessary good for the club. Firstly he is a player with potential, he is miles off being the finished article. His body language would suggest that he is the sort of player that says "Look ay me and how good I am" my concern is that international recognition could go to his head.
"I'm much better than this lot, I'm an England player".
I really hope I'm wrong as he is a talented young man that has and I use the word again a 'potentially' very bright future in the game.

This is a really interesting post and possibly contains some of the best and astute observations corralled into one thread. There is no ranting or raving and it is obvious that this thread is written by people that really do care about the football club.
I don't think anyone wants to openly attack either the manager, the players the board or whoever happens to be in the firing line.
Football is a game of opinions, it's why it has taken goal line technology so long to come on stream, the powers that be love the fact that we can talk about a 'was it a goal or not' for hours.....
One person might think that this is the best formation whilst another may think completely differently. Who's right? It's open to opinion and debate and because there will I don't think ever be 'formation technology' this will be one of the discussion points that will continue long after the ball has crossed the line as confirmed by goal line technology.
The formation or the team selection, the substitute policy unless that substitute scores a few minutes after coming on will always be questioned. Was he introduced too early, too late......no.... perfect timing he was there in the right place at the right time.
Same for the owners. From my side of the fence they have screwed up many times. But I only see my side of the fence. I don't see theirs and what may seem obvious to me isn't necessarily right, its just my opinion.
We all want this club to succeed, I'm 61 years young and remember my team when it was a force to be reckoned with. When we played some of the best football played by any English team around. Do I yearn for those days? You bet I do!
But my years tell me to be a realist. The proverbial goalposts have moved and alas we never noticed this happening and then tried to join the big boys again when we just weren't ready. An England team build around QPR, the youngsters wouldn't believe us!
So let's just hope that irrespective of our views, the manager does know what he is talking about, the board have a plan for starting to rebuild the club with strong and solid foundations. We are after all despite our differences....QPR supporters.
No doubt although I recognize no one from this board......... see you tomorrow afternoon, 3pm sharp!

....spend a bit of severance pay, do some Sky TV pundit work, then yes he'll get a job no doubt...the merry go round managers sit down and select who gets sacked next and then who will replace. The discussion about the Villa job is taking place now, not with Villa but with the Merry go Round managers.........Moyes, Big Sam, Arry you know the usual suspects.

It's 3 points.
I watched some of it on the Sky 'red' button and we seemed to be the better team with more chances. Reading looked shite. BUT irrespective of who is in charge today or tomorrow it's 3 points more towards safety because we do not want to consider relegation as being a 'good thing' for the club.
If we win more away games 1-0 I'll even forgive the pink kit.

Yet clubs still listen to this utter and contemptible embarrassment for a manager.
Why do clever and astute businessmen off the field who no doubtedly employ brilliant managers in their Airline or betting business, join a football club and employ completely useless and proven inept people. If there was ever an industry that rewards failure then its football.......just ask Big Sam and tens of others including our own manager that get paid for being frankly......useless. However you have to admire them as they are brilliant at lining their own pockets!
Here's Harry the new manager Air Asia operating a budget airline .
"Well Tone, your planes are no good, you need to invest.
We need to get those temperamental old planes that cost a fortune to run, you know Tone the ones with dodgy engines that are always in the hanger.
Don't worry Tone, I know someone that can buy them for us and don't worry about how much they cost.
Trust me"

We are as pathetic as the bloody pink kit.
Mark my words, nothing ever good comes of a team that disregards its kit history and plays in pink.
I think they should now play naked at Reading then our comments about the team being complete bollox will be true.

Another nail in the coffin of traditional values of a football club sold to the highest stadia naming interested party
Goodbye Loftus Road hello Air Asia Arena.
To pay the ridiculous salaries and agent fees, clubs have to exploit every opportunity.
Playing in pink with 'Royal Panda' branding. How sad is that?
Football encouraging gambling, not at every turn of the card but at every kick or booking.
"3 bookings and a red car in the 75th minute and I won a monkey. The score? Not sure, fink we lost"
Referee's sponsored by Specsavers. You couldn't make it up.
But that's football today where fans continue to be raped by clubs for every penny and Sky rape us for watching these promo donna's. Jose's rants just add to the theatre at the field of screams.
But we go, we support, we pay £5 for a luke warm Carlsberg (with the top unscrewed) we pay our subscription to Sky Sports and buy more than our share of Mars bars after all they help you work, rest and play. In fact come to think of it, it's only that bottle of Carlsberg where we are not screwed.
Happy Days

We were better today with Lumley playing a key role of being in the right place for a number of Wigan efforts, making a couple of excellent saves and being more commanding from crosses. He was also in the face of Wigan players so that bodes well. His distribution is a bit suspect but for me he played himself into the side. Defensively whilst nothing conceded which is great we still look suspect from crosses and set pieces and Wigan on another day would surely have converted one of their chances. In midfield Luongo still seems off the pace, Scowan and Freeman did their job. The new forwards showed more composure on the ball. Were they brilliant? No but at least we looked like scoring and these guys are not going to be match sharp so there should be better to come. Eze is a youngster with potential and will need to be carefully used to make sure he develops to his potential. Perhaps rest him for the Bristol game.
It was great to get the 3 points and a clean sheet but this will be a long season.

In the cold light of day after sleeping on the game, here's my overview.
The crowd for a start had already voted with their feet. I'd really like to know how many actually were in the stadium. I'd guess it was 9,000 including good midweek away support from Bristol City.
There was no queue at the SAR bar but perhaps that was due to the £5 for a bottle of Carlsberg. No line to have a bet on the game and even my stupid 3-2 to QPR bet had the ridiculous low odd of 22-1. I suspect I could have got 33-1 had I looked at other bookies. Alas that was irrelevant.
The game itself saw that it is not just QPR that have employed a colour blind kit consultant. Call me old fashioned but when did blue and white have a colour clash with red? City played in purple and green. Nearly as bad as our pink.
Whilst we certainly battled in the first 30 minutes, the team lacked conviction and whilst there were chances for us to take the lead, there was always a lack of conviction. As we know and have seen for a few seasons Washington runs but it all seems a little aimless and he really isn't a goalscorer as he just doesn't have the 'Charlie Austin' predatory instinct for scoring. Defensively we seemed OK but the midfield was not dominating enough for a home fixture and the World Cup has done Luongo no favors at all. Their goal was always coming, defensive error and what also looked a shot that Smities would have saved. The crowd didn't turn but the writing was on the wall.
Rather than come out all guns blazing in the second half, the body language of the players seemed wrong. Heads were down and we were beaten before their second. It was only when Pawel was subbed that I realized he was on the pitch. Luongo's sub was not surprising. Cousins added nothing and as for Smith his performance was dire. Having been on the pitch a few minutes he was caught offside by not running back. The man cannot run, He doesn't head the ball, the ball hits his head. Awful.
The City fans started the 'Sacked in the morning' with the Ellerslie Road response being 'How shit are you it's only 2-0' although s moronic bloke near me thought that a chant of 'You're Welsh and you know you are' was needed to get the team going.
I felt sorry for Eze who is a talent that could be destroyed playing in this side. He is an expressive player that needs better. I suspect he will get it at another club.
I stayed until the 3rd, a defensive slip by Scowan and a tap in opportunity for at least 2 City players meant we had again been well and truly beaten. My concern however is that this Bristol City side look incredibly average. There were times in the second half when both sides played some of the worst football I have ever witnessed. Neither side could pass, it was Sunday League standard.
These are troubling times for a club that is in freewill. Tony Fernandez and his merry band of men that know nothing about the running of a football team have got us to this place and I'm not sure how we get out of it. McClaren despite seemingly being able to work well with the defence under Harry has created a defensive unit that will only leak goals. They appear not to know if they are man marking or zonal marking and end up marking no one. Whilst it was not as bad as Saturday, any decent side will really look forward to playing us. TF employed McClaren as he was the future of LR. Now you have passed the baton to Amit Tony, can you please explain what you saw in a man that has effectively failed in most of his jobs and also claims he is a coach and not a manager.
The midfield seems to lack a leader and expecting Eze to play to his potential when he is not supported means he doesn't shine and add. Freeman is a good player but over does it sometimes and perhaps believes he is better than he is. The forwards are a shambles. A man that runs around and a man that doesn't.
At the moment I can see 'no light' at the end of the tunnel. Bristol City were awful so how does that mean we played?
Maybe McClaren will be sacked maybe he will walk but who is going to keep us in this division? Who would want to come to Loftus Road?
One way or another the owners of QPR need to act swiftly. Back the manager and get some loan signings in as soon as possible or accept that again TF made another appalling management decision and find a replacement NOW
Or, or and I expect tp be killed for this.
Bring Holloway back to be the manager and allow the Wally with the brolly the opportunity to coach.

We're QPR fans and we are used to the lows and troughs associated with supporting this club. We have always applauded players that try and give 100% no matter their skill level.
We tend to support our younger players although a few years ago I came to blows with a moron who felt the best way to encourage a young Richard Langley was with "Langley you are f*&king useless"
If we go a goal down then it's not the end of the world.
But, if we start playing to our weaknesses and not our strengths and repeat the same mistakes that we did on Saturday with pathetic defending and continue to leak goals then the boo boys may have a field day.
Loftus Road when rocking can be an intimidating place but it needs two to tango. If we see some heart and dedication from the team then it will get the crowd behind them. My fear is that if we go a couple down early on that LR will head chants of 'Is this a library or Is there a fire drill" as people head for the exits from the Bristol fans.
If ST holders are always included in the attendance then we may squeak 11500.
I'll be there and I'm going for a 2-1 win.

It is tough as we do not know what goes on behind the scenes.
A few points;
I personally thought Olly was OK but the problem with the set up was that he and Bircham were too similar. I'd have kindly asked Mark to step aside and given Olly a 'proper' number 2.
Any new system takes time to bed in and understand. Our pre-season didn't highlight any issues that begs the question of the role of pre-season and the type of teams we play. Are they to build confidence so we start the season really believing in ourselves or is it better to play a better class of side, get mugged 7-1 in a pointless friendly and make changes and learn before the big day starts?
If we are playing a system we haven't got the players to deliver it then it is a bad system for us. We have to play to our strengths and not expose our weaknesses and if passing out from the back is a weakness, lets not do it eh?
Accept the whilst we craved for youngsters in the team that they will struggle under a pressure they have never experienced before. You can put a youngster into a team too early, expect too much and it backfires and they freeze. This can have a negative effect on player development. Alas I can remember when we hoped a very young Peter Crouch was going to solve our goalscoring issues and be our salvation at the tender age of 17.
Considering pulling Ryan Manning back from Rotherham unless it is a deal that cannot be broken. We need fighters in this side.
Question the ability of the smily Les Ferdinand and his strategic ability. Alas he appears to be just too nice. We need an intelligent director of football and for me, whilst I loved his goalscoring exploits he doesn't have the intelligence or savvy necessary to carry off what is a vital role (well QPR tell us its vital) within the club.
Check out if we have just made it too chummy with ex-players such as Penrice, Impey etc. Has it been too much of 'jobs for the boys' or a PR spin?
Forget the training ground and the new stadia because that needs a team and unless we get our act together whilst everyone around us improves then we can forget it. Brentford will be bigger than us next season, run by a QPR supporter in a much better fashion (what an opportunity missed by TF when he employed tossers like Beard). 'West London is R's' is a sad distant memory.
Get rid if the pink kit, its bloody embarrassing.
