If Freeman is sold today for whatever price, TF will have again shot himself in the foot and for a man that is richer than anyone on this board put together he seems to lack common sense.
Had he waited 24 hours he could either have tweeted
"We received an excellent offer for Luke Freeman that is a very good deal for the Club. We purchased him for £350,000 and sold for £4.5 million so it is very good business and demonstrates the club is being run in the proper manner. Whilst it is a shame to lose Freeman we have to look at the best interests of the Club. Steve Maclaren has looked at our midfield and feels that we have strength in depth in this position"
OR
"Despite receiving an offer of £4.5 million, we kept true to our word about not selling our best players. We are building from a new set of foundations now at QPR and did not believe that the offer was in the best interests of the Club. We are building a squad under Steve Mclaren and Freeman was an integral of the midfield"

Forget the lack of fire power, forget switching off at set pieces or whatever, I blame the kit.
Can I be the first to start a campaign to sack the pink kit and hope that it is never, ever worn again.

A season of stability and getting the youngsters bedded in would be ideal. No relegation. blues, no play off false hopes. Boring position would work for me.

Given you won't know any of the players in a pointless for us kick about, kids for a quid and a tenner to sit down might attract a few.
Can't afford these prices due to the rising price of petrol.

I for one hope he stays. Whilst it is fantastic to see the youngsters being given a chance, we'll need experienced players alongside them.
The Championship is a very tough league and whilst a very young side will be refreshing to see at LR a few experienced heads will be needed.

Steve Burke: A winger who is now based in Lincolnshire, where he sold sporting goods in a market and ran a sport shop, as well as a pub. Now a gaming machine collector for Butlin’s.

Well spotted, hoops it is!
The Mrs will probably like it and although I don't....if we nick a goal in the last minute in a real game. Who cares what colour the hoops are?!

Where did the all pink strip come from? There is absolutely nothing against the colour but what it is to do with QPR?
We play in HOOPS.

I feel sorry for us too.
He was rested towards the end of the season to give him time for the World Cup prep. He will now get an extended break and therefore will not be at training for the next 2(?) weeks.
Whilst it is great to see our players in the international arena (if they play) the net effect it can have on Clubs like ours with limited squads could be massive.

I was lucky enough to meet him on my 60th birthday when my kids surprised me with a hospitality package.
He has really put on the pounds.....but he is still a happy smily man.

I show my age and do bowls!
We have the England captain at our club and I have drawn him in the championship. Like QPR I will be out in the first round.

Think it is the wrong decision for him and for the Club.
New broom sweeps clean and all that but why does it always tend to happen at football Clubs?
The CEO leaves a company and normally doesn't take the finance, HR, sales or marketing director with them. Yet in the bubble of football this is the norm.
Birch could have learned from McClaren and Co to better himself. Birch could have continued to add the necessary bite and 'in your face' attitude important in this division.
My viewpoint has always been that Ollie and Birch were just too similar and had the same strengths but alas the same weaknesses. They both didn't have to go.

I hope he stays and learns from the new guys. Sure it may seem demotion in a way but he will be working with an ex-England manager. I always thought that Ollie and Birch were too similar. There is no need for both of them to go.
If Birch has any sense and can swallow a bit of pride he could learn a great deal next season that would make him a better manager in the future.

Whether we like the appointment or not only time will tell.
As each week that goes by the way football management is rewarded for failure becomes even more staggering as a few months in a club pays more than the average man does in his entire lifetime. Still we buy the tickets, subscribe to Sky Sports and bet 365 so I guess we are partly to blame.
All we can do is to disbelieve the bullshit spin from SMC and the Club and just hope that this marks a step change for the future.
He wouldn't have been my choice but the owners have appointed him and like every other poster on this board we'll still be here when the current owners and SMC are long gone. All we can do is to support the club and accept the appointment and hope with fingers crossed that this is one of TF's better decisions.
At the very least he has time to understand the situation and have the close season to see what he has inherited so there can be no excuses come August when the first ball is kicked for real.

Just taken some Americans that are staying with us to Cliveden House which is west of London between Slough and Maidenhead.
Security is tight as Megan is going to be staying there before her wedding.
BUT there were a number of QPR cars in the car park. T50 OPR- with the bolt in the 'O' so definitely reads as QPR. GF08 OPR- (Gerry Francis?) ' -Fen ik' (Terry?). Am I just reading too much into this but.......could Gerry be on his way back?

Fernandez must surround himself with morons.
There is no long term strategy at this club. None.
The objective for this season was not to be relegated and therefore he has achieved his objectives. Whilst he was not the best tactician he needed someone else with a better understanding and technical ability. He didn't need an Ollie clone as a number 2. That was the problem.
That'll be more money spunked up the wall on IH's severance and I assume MB's too. McClaren will no doubt be on a serious package and will bring in his 'own men'.
Tony I don't get it. You have more money than anyone on this message board put together yet you have no common sense when it comes to spending QPR money.

I've said this before and I'll continue saying it.
The combination of Holloway and Bircham is too similar.
I love them both for their enthusiasm and in Mark's case his blue and white hair but enthusiasm and commitment and puffing up for the badge will only get you so far.
We need a more tactically aware number 2 that compliments the skills of Holloway whilst offering Ian different solutions with formations/response to opposition tactics etc.
We need to think smarter in everything we do. Mark appears just a mirror image of Ian and therefore this is where I'd consider a review of management.

Good to see some of the younger players get a chance. Eze looks as if he has the class and composure to go a long way. It wasn't a great game but it was certainly refreshing to see players having a go and not being overawed. She they need to have experience around them but there is certainly some promise out there.

Going back to the transfer thread yesterday, if you were a potential club looking at Robinson despite his enormous potential he just misses too many games.
