"83 mins: Wolves are applying quite a bit of pressure now. Somehow, Ivan Cavaleiro's right-flank centre has just flashed across the face of goal without a touch. [1-1]" Only a matter of time now lads, important thing is to just relax and let it happen. No need to fight it. 2-1...I'm a bit of a douche.

1-1
Never been a more predictable team in the history of sport. They do exactly what you expect of them every time. Score a goal, give it right back. Unreal.

Fabs matey not trying to ignore just digest. Unfortunate to concede a very late goal and get no points from the game. Shame. Yes indeed some very well reasoned insight by Bowranger/57 varieties about the Club and its current circumstances. I can agree with a lot of it. However the bee in my bonnet over the last 18 months... not 18 days... or 18 weeks(and I don't wish to be waiting 18 years to wait for a return to the Premiership. Might not last that long )is purely about our woeful transfer strategy and the quality of players we have been signing. I will always try and give credit where credit is due and am not blind to the financial cloud the club is currently under. There have been some games this season where this squad have won well. Against Leeds. Cardiff and Bristol City for example. We are not the worst team in this league and I have said all along even going back to the days when Ramsey was manager we will not get relegated from the Championship . There should easily be three teams worse than us this season. Sorry but I do take issue with any opinion that expounds the view that QPR FC since the summer of 2015 have had and continue to have a good squad of players. Certainly you would not likely have heard that phrase from any of us that were at Rotherham on Saturday!! True one game but I have been looking at a bigger picture and more long term trends rather than a knee jerk reaction. I make it 27 players signed. It may even be 28 now if the Bolton Wanderers discard Alex Finney has joined up. How many Good Standard Championship players amongst that lot? Although I just cant get my head round the viewpoint that says we have a good squad amazingly there remains some expert journalistic opinion and some supporters mantra (much eroded by now surely?) that goes along with this! Eh? Where is the evidence M'Lud At present we seem to be in a spiral of decline and it hurts me. In future Ollie will have to be shrewd in the transfer market(with the backing of our DOF of course ) if matters are to improve Your points have been replied to in many a thread but you do tend to ignore, go away the repost exactly he same thing later on down the line. It's been explained that the transfer strategy has been far from woeful and that, given the restraint, some good players have been signed. Those players have been listed above (and in other threads) but you continually refuse to even acknowledge those posts or even explain to us why you think those players listed are dross (to use your word). What bothers me most is not so much the players, but that I never feel week to week like we have a plan or a style of play that we are working to execute. I'm sure I watched an interview with the Ferdinand/Hoos/JFH triad at the start of the season and it was explained that we wanted to have a way of playing and then pursue that no matter who the manager is. We would recruit players who fit that system, train all of our youth teams to play that way and then there would be a consistency throughout the organization ( a la Swansea or Southampton) and this would serve us well through the ups and downs of whatever league we find ourselves and the general uncertainty of football. So when it came time to decide if JFH had to go I felt like it wasn't a binary decision..simply good or bad. You could sack JFH and have it be good or bad depending on who you hire to replace him. If you're following this "style of play" mantra then you would hire another manager who played that way, I believe the style in our case was playing the pressing game, up tempo, really fit players? Am I right? I'm not sure if Ollie fits this style or what his history is, does he play this kind of football? If he doesn't then we start to fall into the trap of signing a whole gaggle of players every transfer window to fit in with the new manager, and the never ending cycle of waiting for them to bed in, giving them six to nine months and if it doesn't work we sack the manager and hire another guy who plays ANOTHER way and the cycle continues. If on the other hand we follow this plan that was set forth at the beginning of the year then I'm a little more optimistic.

16' in and we've had a couple of chances but (surprise, surprise) unable to convert. Looks like 3 at the back with Perch and Bidwell playing as fullbacks? That would make 5 at the back. 3 at the back would mean Perch and Bidwell are playing as wing backs or should that be wide receivers According to commentary Hall is playing as a holding midfielder or some such thing. Still 0-0, our attack is really pathetic. Zero ability to actually put it in the back of the net. Not that we create THAT many chances but even when we do we miss or a "great save", according to our Twitter feed at least.

I've been thinking about it and my theory that QPR are best at sticking to their narrative could mean they actually get something from the upcoming tough run of games?
Is one of the QPR fan narratives not that we'll lose to the bottom of the table team, but then get something away to a top six team? Or vice versa?
I should try to keep track of the narratives....
1.) Always get skinned when we're on SKY 2.) Never get a "new manager bounce" 3.) Always provide a team that's struggling with their first win in ages. 4.) Incongruous performances against teams at opposite ends of the table.
Any others?

0-1
Never followed a team that sticks to their narrative more reliably than QPR. We ALWAYS provide a win for a struggling team at the bottom of the table, yes we ALWAYS do. Really, they never let you down.

I think we'll be lucky to get 4 points from the remaining games this month which would give us 27 points heading into the new year, 2 less than I predicted.
Then again I didn't predict a single one of the earlier games right so what do I know.

And now we're off until a week from saturday when we will face a team with just one win all season and adrift at the bottom of the league. There's only one remedy when you're struggling like that...a visit from the R's.

1-2 through Lynch and 7 minutes of added time.
This is the part where we convince ourselves something good is going to happen here.
We'll be 3-1 down in a jiffy.

At some point the whole thing just becomes too pathetic for words.
I know we're down to 10 men, but even before that, despite all of our possession did we even get a shot on goal?

Feels like we've had significantly more possession but every time we get anywhere close to a shot on goal we just smash it straight into the chest or face of the nearest defender.

Easy lads, must give Ollie time to figure out what his best 11 is, then of course he'll have to bring in his own players, then they'll have to settle in. So around this time next year we should be ready to sack him and do it all over again.
A brace for Leroy Fer today by the way.

Can anyone tell me what Paul Clement's style of play would be? What kind of football would we be likely to play under him?
It seems to be me that the good or bad of firing JFH depends on the who you hire next, not whether JFH was a good manager or deserved more time.
It was said, as a result of having learned our lesson etc., that we wanted to "play" a certain way so if we hire a manager that plays that way (pressing game? Anyone?) and move forward with that plan then this can be a good move.
If, on the other hand, we hire someone who brings a totally different style then he doesn't have the players he needs to execute that plan, and we go through another two transfer windows of huge turnover because of it and we're back on the merry-go-round. Which is not good.
Would love to hear from someone with more knowledge about Clement and what kind of football he plays. He got sacked at Derby while fifth in the table, I've heard because he didn't agree with ownership about how the team should be playing even though the results weren't that poor.

I think we all know it will be Sherwood. Does that fill me with joy & excitement? Does that fill me with expectation? Or do I think the only thing to look forward to is Timmothy making a fool of himself on the touchline? We may well have an initial improvement just as Villa did, but how long did that last? Sherwood's a glorified PE teacher IMO. He'll pump his fists and run up and down the touch line, but in the end there's no there there as they say. Just bluster.

42 would have kept you up the last two seasons....just.
Does having an especially strong league with Newcastle, Norwich et. al. mean you'll need more or less points to stay up you figure? League is strong this year at the top but how about at the bottom?

I see where Fulham won 5-0 against Huddersfield today.
I wonder what that's like? Scoring more then 2 goals in a game and really tonking someone?

Following Brentford this evening here's our run of fixtures to the end of the year and my predicted results...
Forest (A) Loss of course Norwich (H) Loss Ipswich (A) Win Wolves (H) Draw Rotherham (A) Win Derby (H) Draw Villa (H) Loss Brighton (A) Loss Wolves (A) Draw
I see 9 points from 27, counting 1 point from a draw against the Bees and that's 29 points heading into 2017. Solidly mid-table.
Thoughts? Would JFH still be here if that were the situation.

From TEAMtalk www.teamtalk.com/news/championship-trio-track-former-forest-loaneeExclusive: Championship trio track former Forest loaneeDate published: Tuesday 18th October 2016 1:22 Championship trio Norwich, Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City are tracking Slovenia defender Bojan Jokic, sources have told TEAMtalk.com. Villarreal defender Jokic impressed for Slovenia in their goalless draw with England earlier this month despite playing the majority of the match with a broken toe. The 30-year-old is well down the pecking order at Villarreal and he has not featured for the Spanish club so far this season, but despite his lack of club action Jokic has featured in Slovenia’s three World Cup qualifiers so far. Jokic enjoyed a loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season, making 21 appearances for the club after joining the Championship side last January. The talented full-back is out of contract at Villarreal and a number of clubs across Europe are understood to be keeping tabs on his situation. Norwich, QPR and Bristol City are all admirers of Jokic and could move for the defender in January as they look to bolster their defensive options in the New Year. If he's got any sense he'll go to Norwich as he'll be a Premier league player next season. Even at Bristol City he stands a better chance of going up than if he comes to us. Do we have something against right backs? If you collect enough left backs are you allowed to trade them in for a right back like cereal box tops back in the day? WE NEED A RIGHT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sometimes wonder what Les and JFH think of Hoos?
I've often seen them together in interview situations like the statement they put out today, and their body language is sort of odd when he's speaking.
Maybe his nationality and "awkward dad" vibe don't play well with two former giants of the game?
I imagine them giving him noogies or pantsing him when the pass in the office corridors.
