Talking about Hoilett......... From rednation www.rednationonline.ca/Articles2016/HoilettconfidentCanadacanpulloffmiracle.aspx?Hoilett confident Canada can pull off miraclePosted by Harjeet Johal, September 4, 2016 Twitter @harjournalist VANCOUVER, B.C - Canada is in a spot of difficulty as they try to earn a CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying spot in the "Hexagonal' stage. In order to advance to the 5th round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Canada must beat El Salvador on Tuesday night at BC Place, and hope to get help from Mexico who takes on Honduras. Canada currently sit third in the Group A table with a 1-3-1 record and must over-turn a goal differential of minus five if they hope to claim second spot behind Mexico and a coveted spot at 'The Hex'. It won't be an easy time for 100th FIFA ranked Canadians as they've managed a paltry two goals in five group matches thus far. Canadian winger Junior Hoilett knows that the task at hand will take some work to accomplish, but he's confident. Canada will have to take the match with a one step at a time approach. Hoilett isn't worried about the mountain of goals Canada requires. "Everybody's gearing up for it, first and foremost," said Hoilett. "We have to set up a structure to get a result, to get a win, and three points, that's the main thing. Of course we have to score a certain amount of goals, but first and foremost is to get the three points." As many supporters and pundits are clamouring for Canada to open up and play a more offensive minded style of football, Canada isn't about to do that. Coach Benito Floro is a defense first tactical manager and his teams play at the back won't be abandoned just because goal-scoring has taken on a supreme importance. Hoilett respects Canada's defense first philosophy. "Of course we have to score goals," admitted Hoilett. "But we also cannot concede any. We have to stay structured, stay disciplined and not to leak any goals when we're on the attack. Of course we have to push, but we also have to consider that we can't let any goals go in as well." The 26 year-old Hoilett has had his fitness questioned as he looked absolutely gassed in Canada's 2-1 loss to Honduras on Friday, September 2. At the minute, Hoilett is without a club team, he is a free agent and still pondering his options. Benito Floro isn't too concerned with Hoilett's lack of fitness, instead he is hoping Hoilett signs somewhere soon so he can get back to club football. "Junior is suffering a lot, he doesn't have a club," said Floro. "I alerted him that it is very important to have a club for this kind of player. The weather (in Honduras) for him was terrible, no. When we arrived, he was feeling better physically so it means that we are sure that on Tuesday he will be different." The former Queens Park Rangers man is pleased that he was able to go the distance against Honduras. He admits that he will be ready for 137th ranked El Salvador should he get the start from Coach Floro. "Of course it's hard for me because I haven't played any games leading into it. I lasted 90 minutes against Honduras and that's a bonus for me, personally. I'll be ready and willing to go in the next game. I'm fully confident that I can put in a good performance." Despite Red Nation Online's persistence, Junior Hoilett wasn't about to reveal where and when he expects to sign with a new club. His primary focus is competing with Canada on Tuesday. His club football options remain open and he doesn't appear to be in any significant hurry to sign with anyone. "For me, I'm just focused on Canada right now," said Hoilett. "Tuesday's my main importance. Right now my phone is off so I'm focusing on the game on Tuesday. We have a big game and that's my first priority. Like I said, right now I'm just focused on El Salvador, that's what my main focus is and after that I'll decide where I want to go." Should Canada somehow manage to not qualify for 'The Hex' a lot of fans would like to see Coach Floro get the sack. While he might not be a popular gaffer with the supporters, Floro has the full backing of his players, and Hoilett wants to see him remain. "No, no, he's been great for Canada," revealed Hoilett. "He's got us good structure and he's doing well, so I want him to stay of course."

Is Morison a free agent, did he leave Lazio? Hmmm... If we agreed to release Sandro on the understanding he went to Lazio, and Lazio did likewise with Morrison coming to us, that might be a a way out of everyone's problems - both clubs and both players?

I must admit, I don't understand it all. I closed our predict the final position on Aug 31 midnight. I won't re open it either. We are more sensible here at Report, than the FA.

From the Brent and Kilburn Times www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/junior_hoilett_could_make_qpr_return_admits_les_ferdinand_1_4687281Junior Hoilett could make QPR return, admits Les Ferdinand12:00 07 September 2016 By Sean Gallagher, QPR correspondent Junior Hoilett could still make a return to QPR, says QPR's director of football Les Ferdinand QPR’s director of football Les Ferdinand has revealed that the club remain in close dialogue with Junior Hoilett, and admits there is still a possibility the Canadian winger could rejoin the Rs. Hoilett left Loftus Road earlier this summer after rejecting a new contract from the club, however the 26-year-old remains without a club and with QPR still keen on adding another winger to their ranks, Ferdinand has refused to close the door on Hoilett returning to W12. He said: “The door has never been closed on Junior. I’ve spoken to him and the manager has spoken to him on numerous occasions. “As we all know, he was waiting for a move to the Premier League and he’s not had that yet. “We’ll wait and see where he is. He’s a free now and will get itchy feet at some stage - I can’t believe that he doesn’t want to get back in. “So we’ll keep knocking on the door, that’s for sure. We saw at the end of last season the player we thought we were bringing here at the start of his contract. “The environment that he was involved in before enabled him to be the way he was. “It’s a totally different regime here now and he understands that. He saw that last season. “So if Junior Hoilett came back here I think he’d have an understanding that the club’s going forward. I can understand people’s reservations but if it’s someone who can benefit the club going forward then you’ve got to look at it.” Ferdinand also remains quietly confident the Rs can mount a realistic challenge for the play-offs this season. “I’m always greedy. I’ll start every year thinking we can get promoted,” admitted Ferdinand, “If you don’t start with that thought process then you’re defeating yourself. “People say we need to bed players in and get them used to the Championship, but secretly I’ll be hoping that we can definitely make the play-offs.”

From the BBC. Dodged a bullet IMO www.bbc.com/sport/football/37296483Nicklas Bendtner: Nottingham Forest sign former Arsenal striker1 hour ago From the section Football Nicklas Bendtner was fined for being late for training after sleeping through his alarm while at Wolfsburg Nottingham Forest have signed former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner. BBC Radio Nottingham reported on Tuesday that the 28-year-old, who was a free agent after leaving German club Wolfsburg, was discussing terms and he has now agreed a two-year contract. The Denmark international told BBC Nottingham Sport: "My main goal was to come back to England. "What happened in Wolfsburg was a sad situation. I have made mistakes in the past, but I am looking to the future." Watch Nicklas Bendtner's first news conference as a Nottingham Forest player at BBC Nottingham Sport's Facebook page. Bendtner had an unhappy spell in Germany and left the club after several disciplinary issues. He said the move to a club with a "big history", and the chance to work with Forest manager Philippe Montanier, was the ideal way to make a "new start". "It is important to prove myself and get back to scoring goals," said Bendtner. "The coach has given me a great impression of the club and how he wants to do things. "He cares a lot about football. He wants to play football, he is a nice man and I look forward to working with him." Forest face Aston Villa on Sunday and Bendtner, who has scored 29 goals in 72 appearances for his country, said he was not quite ready to play. "I need a little bit of time to settle and adjust but it won't be long," he added. Bendtner scored 45 goals for Arsenal in 171 games between 2005 and 2014 and also had loan spells at Sunderland, Birmingham and Juventus during that period. AnalysisBBC Radio Nottingham's Nottingham Forest correspondent Colin Fray "Nicklas Bendtner is certainly a controversial figure and has his detractors, but Forest will be hoping that their marquee signing can combine with Britt Assombalonga up front and fire the club into top-six contention. "He's a player who's proved he's capable of scoring goals in his career - including in the Championship during his loan spell with Birmingham, when he was only 18 and was sent out by Arsenal to gain first-team experience. That spell apart, his entire career has been spent in the top flights in England, Italy and Germany, and he has a wealth of international experience with Denmark, too. "So, as a free agent, you can see why Forest would be prepared to offer him a deal. At 6ft 4ins tall, he's likely to be handful for Championship defenders, and is the highest-profile signing of 12 this summer."

From Football Italia www.football-italia.net/91111/qpr-door-open-morrison?QPR: Door open to MorrisonBy Football Italia staff QPR director of football Les Ferdinand has revealed that his club are “open” to the idea of Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison returning to Loftus Road. Morrison enjoyed a fruitful, three-month spell on loan at QPR in the 2013-14 season, scoring six goals in 15 appearances as the Hoops gained promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs, and Ferdinand confirmed his side were willing to take another chance on the Englishman. “Sometimes you have got people who are immensely talented, but you have to decide if that person can come into your group and not disrupt it,” he told the Times. “We’ve got a great group of players here now all fighting for each other and everyone wants the same thing. “Sometimes you have to look at it and think will that person upset the others in the group, that’s the last thing you need, as talented as they are or can be you have to take that into account as well. “That’s not totally my decision it’s the manager’s, and if he feels he can work with him and integrate him into the squad. “I wouldn’t say it’s totally closed, but it is partially at the minute. Who knows what will happen, though. “I went to Germany to watch a game a while ago and saw Ravel at the airport as Lazio were playing a game on the same day and they were allowing him to go home for a few days. “We had a great chat, he’s a lovely kid who I’ve got a lot of time for him and always have done. “But sometimes your reputation goes before you and because of what you’ve done in the past people will always judge you on that. “Sometimes people want to help you and if they see you don’t want to help yourself, they’re not going to bother. “With all due respect to Ravel he hasn’t helped himself on occasions before, but like a few other players who have been here in the past, he’s had the wrong influences around him. “He’s gone to Lazio and not played a lot but I’m sure that experience has benefitted him regardless and made him think about life a lot and what he wants to do in football. “I would say being over in Lazio has certainly got rid of those bad influences, so hopefully he can bounce back and show everyone what a fantastic talent he is.”

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-michael-doughty-jey-emmanuel-thomas-update-110501?QPR likely to listen to offers for duoBy David McIntyre 09/09/2016 QPR are likely to listen to any offers for Michael Doughty and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas when the transfer window reopens in January. Doughty, 23, and Emmanuel-Thomas, 25, have impressed since making season-long loan moves to League One sides Swindon and Gillingham respectively. Youth product Doughty is a long way down the pecking order of midfielders at Loftus Road and Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand says the club might let him move on. Ferdinand said “The most important thing is to try to have players come through into your first team. “If they can’t play in your first team, you have a duty to that player to still turn him into a professional footballer. “He (players in general) may not be able to play in the Championship, but can he play in League One or League Two? Can he have a career? That’s the question you’re asking. “Michael’s gone away and he’s done well in League One. Can he progress and can the manager see enough in him to think he can come back and be better than what we’ve got? If not, sometimes you’ve got let them go and have a career. “That’s the situation with Michael, who is doing well. It’s the same with Jay Emmanuel Thomas, who has scored five goals already but, with all due respect, we knew he was capable of doing that in League One.” ‘Might look at it’Forward Emmanuel-Thomas is not in Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s plans. The former Arsenal trainee has, however, been in excellent form for Gillingham “Can he transfer that into the Championship? He hasn’t been able to do that so far,” Ferdinand said. “In January someone might come in and offer some money so we might look at it.”

Rangers attempted to push through a deal to sign France Under-19 forward Pereira in the final hours of the recent transfer window but were unable to do so. Pereira, 19, has yet to make a first-team appearance for PSG but played 14 times for Ligue 2 side Paris FC during a loan spell last season. He joined FC Tours on a season-long loan after a proposed move to Loftus Road did not go through, but Rangers could still seek a deal to sign him in the new year.

You would think these things would be checked when signing players but past experience says otherwise. As for “That’s a little bit of bitterness isn’t it?”, Warnock tends to be the first to shout when the shoe's on the other foot.

From TEAMtalk www.teamtalk.com/news/championship-trio-track-former-forest-loaneeExclusive: Championship trio track former Forest loaneeDate published: Tuesday 18th October 2016 1:22 Championship trio Norwich, Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City are tracking Slovenia defender Bojan Jokic, sources have told TEAMtalk.com. Villarreal defender Jokic impressed for Slovenia in their goalless draw with England earlier this month despite playing the majority of the match with a broken toe. The 30-year-old is well down the pecking order at Villarreal and he has not featured for the Spanish club so far this season, but despite his lack of club action Jokic has featured in Slovenia’s three World Cup qualifiers so far. Jokic enjoyed a loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season, making 21 appearances for the club after joining the Championship side last January. The talented full-back is out of contract at Villarreal and a number of clubs across Europe are understood to be keeping tabs on his situation. Norwich, QPR and Bristol City are all admirers of Jokic and could move for the defender in January as they look to bolster their defensive options in the New Year.
