Is this likely Roller? A genuine question as I don't see how he could be guarenteed to play more games for them. I also saw somewhere (can't remember where) that Ale Faurlin is likely to sign for Villa. Again I have doubts as to it's feasibility. No idea Terry, but some of those Rangers supporters are getting quite vexed about it - we'd never react that way would we? I know nothing about the modern day Rangers. If they have a decent bunch of kids coming through, he'd be perfect. I can't see Ale going to Villa, haven't they got quite a considerable warchest from the new owners? I don't think he will be playing in this country.

Brazil sack Dunga after early Copa América exitDunga has been sacked as the Brazil coach following their early exit from the Copa América. The national football confederation confirmed his departure two days after his side failed to get past the group stages of the Centenary Copa América. His team drew 0-0 with Ecuador and beat Haiti 7-1 but were beaten 1-0 by Peru to exit the competition at the group stages for the first time since 1987. Pressure had mounted on the coach following some mixed performances but Dunga seemed relaxed about his future after the Peru result. Dunga, who was sacked from his first spell in charge of the Selecao after their last-eight exit at the 2010 World Cup, said at the time: “The president of the federation knows what we do and how we work. When you work for the Brazilian team, you know very well that the criticism will intensify when results do not come. “In Brazil we want everything to change in two minutes, but in football you must be patient.” www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/14/dunga-sacked-by-brazil-after-copa-america-exit

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-36510550England and Russia given disqualification warning Uefa has threatened to disqualify England and Russia from Euro 2016 if there is any further violence by fans. It has begun disciplinary proceedings against Russia - but not England - after "totally unacceptable" scenes at Saturday's England-Russia game. Footage appeared to show Russia fans rush at England supporters after the Euro 2016 1-1 draw in Marseille. Charges against Russia are for crowd disturbances, racist behaviour, and setting off fireworks, Uefa confirmed. There were issues with segregation of fans, the body admitted, promising security would be "strengthened". The UK government said it had offered to send extra British police to France ahead of England's next match in Lens on Thursday. Witnesses said trouble began in the stadium after flares were let off by Russian fans near the end of the game. Some then climbed across barriers designed to keep rival fans apart. A number of Russia supporters appeared to kick and punch fleeing England fans, who were forced to clamber over fencing to escape. Earlier in the day, England, Russia and local fans were embroiled in ugly clashes with riot police, with a number of bloodied fans being taken to hospital. In a strongly-worded statement, European football's governing body said it would not hesitate to impose sanctions on either Russia or England should such violence occur again. Measures included the potential disqualification of their respective teams from the tournament, it said. Earlier Russia's sports minister Vitaly Mutko said Uefa had "done the right thing" to start a disciplinary case against the Russian Football Union,, R-Sport news agency reported. "There were flares, there was a flare gun, there had been clashes in the stands, it's necessary to sort all of this out," he reportedly said. "The fans were rooting greatly, but there are people who do not come for the football." England spectators who were at the match have described a "desperate scramble" to escape charging Russia fans, some of who were wearing gum shields and MMA (mixed martial arts) gloves, one witness claimed. Cory McLeod, who was in the stadium, told the BBC: "A wall of Russian fans charged at our section, which had kids, women, and even some Russian fans in. "I couldn't see if any of them had weapons or anything but people were running fast, it was manic, just a desperate scramble towards a large fence in the corner." Others spoke of "slack" security. Sam Blackwell, from Kingston upon Thames, south-west London, said the only entry search was "a quick pat down". "This would go a long way to explaining how the Russian fans got flares, fireworks and whatever the big bang was into the ground." Sanctions against Russia will be decided at a disciplinary meeting on Tuesday, Uefa said. BBC sports editor Dan Roan said as hosts of the 2018 World Cup, Russia was under intense scrutiny. Uefa's decision would also come under scrutiny, he said, with Russia's next match against Slovakia taking place in Lille on Wednesday - the day before England's match against Wales just 24 miles away in Lens.

I know the content of this has already been pasted into the transfer thread, but should the following be on the official website?
Not in my opinion, I think it is a dangerous line to cross. How do they decide which rumours to feature and does this imply any sort of foundation to them? I know that they want more traffic but I don't think that this is the right way to achieve that.

GladstoneParkRanger must have been thinking this was all too easy after the first two matches and 6 points in the bag, but England and Wales brought his charge to a shuddering halt. However, he does lead the way after the first two days, hotly pursued by the 4 pointers - AuntyJack, Canada, Harr, Kent, SimonR and Wrenboy.
Another 5 matches over days 5 & 6
Tuesday: Austria 1 - 1 Hungary Portugal 4 - 0 Iceland
Wednesday: Romania 1 - 1 Switzerland France 3 - 0 Albania Russia 2 - 1 Slovakia

We were poor against Portugal but them having a man sent off did not help because it completely changed the way they played. Not the final preparation that was wanted I think. I think the squad is unbalanced and lacking in width or cover for central defence. We have 3 central defenders and Cahill has injections in his hip while Smalling has a tight hamstring. Stones is not even the best central defender at Everton. If we do get through the group stages then we are going to need to call on the backup players to play their part. Imagine a central defensive pairing of Stones and Dier in the qtr finals. With no Dier in front to protect them we are relying on Wilshire instead and he has played 3 games all season and never taken to the holding role very well at Arsenal anyway. We will be destroyed by competent opposition. I would have taken Drinkwater and Townsend and dropped Berkley and one of the strikers. We have 5 strikers (Kane, Vardy, Rooney, Sturridge, Rashford) plus Sterling who can also play up front if needed. We have over-compensated up front and it's a big gamble. Bang on the money. Dier is fundamental to Hodgson's the formation but is also the reserve defender and with no sensible backup for him as the holding midfielder. Sturridge and Wheelchair are big risks.

I'll get your coat for you. Thanks Nomar. In all seriousness, I think it would b better if Fer, Caulker and Sandro all moved on now and lets start totally a fresh. Now we have got rid of players like Diakite, Traore etc, best to make a clean sweep. The only one Thats gone that I would have kept as a player is Ale and really hope we are only keeping Henry more of a squad player on small wages. I hear that JFH wants to play a fast attacking way? Something different than the 30 games last year then? Didnt Ramsey try that, worked well scoring goals but let in two a game. At the minute we just let in one a game. Clean sheets is what you need to get out this Division. Warnock got 25 of them in 46 games and Harry got quite a few too. Thats the biggest formula, start at th back and keep it tight, may not be pretty but gets you in play offs. Without any doubt it would be better if those "stars" left. I still think that our most pressing signing should be a partner for Hall; someone who can coaching him, organise the defence and lead the team. Robinson looked good in the 90 minutes I saw of him, and perhaps this will be the year that Furlong breaks our academy hoodoo. That would leave us with Perch, Kpekawa and Henry at a push as cover (I've sold Onouha!), so still a little light in numbers. I could see a Gobern type signing coming in to bolster the squad!

Not impressed by the diamond. Too often the ball was with one of our players in the middle and there was no one offering any width. Do we need to shoe-horn Rooney into the team that badly?

Partner him with Luongo and have a DM playing behind them. What formation would you play to enable that? 4-1-4-1? Or perhaps Venables' Christmas Tree?

Thursday evening sees England's last warm up before the latest tournament flop. Portugal, currently rated 8th in the FIFA standings, should provide England's toughest test in this series of matches.
There is all to play for in the Kudos League. Bushman, Fabs, Harr and MarshBowles stand shoulder to shoulder at the top on 4 points, with StyleCouncillor, the reprobate Bowles and myself hoping that they all finish with the composure of England in a penalty shoot out so we can close up the 2 point gap.
3 - 2 to England

Have just found this post: You are right in saying John Creith, my dad found Raheem Sterling at the age of 10 and took him into QPR. Since this conversation QPR have still not given him recognition for his find. Also around that time he scouted: Darnel Furlong Osman kakay Tafari Moore Bruno Andre Jordan Gibbons And numerous others that are in the system. He is still involved in football and offered QPR players but no one ever gets back to him so he sends them to Watford. And still pays to go to QPR games in his beloved 'x' block. Catherine Creith That is an impressive list, he clearly knows what he is doing. As we had no recognisable scouting back in those days not getting back to him sounds like madness. I don't like the sound of his efforts benefiting Watford rather than us, so as we are told that things have changed now, would your Dad feel like trying again?

Only watched the last 20 minutes. Sadly, that's 20 minutes I'll never get back! Right, we get points for this, don't we? Rats, knew I'd peak too soon! Only Kudos points I'm afraid, but if there was a mini league you'd be joint top! You can bask in the glory until Thursday.

England's second warm up match on Friday sees the Australian's pitch up at Sunderland with our very own Massimo Luongo a dead cert to score. Perhaps Bushman has to get the score right at half time as well!
3 - 1 England - the run will continue until Russia

Absolutely. Any opinions on the lack of advantage played when Wickham was pulled down, but got up to score, only to have it ruled out for a free kick? A poor decision from Clattenberg. It is of no help to Palace, but it looked to me that he accepted that he had dropped a b*****k straight away & apologised. The second non advantage was correct IMO, as Roja (or whatever his name is) stopped when the whistle went & would have beaten Ward to the ball otherwise. I look forward to seeing all the attractive, exciting & attacking football from Manure under new management! I don't suppose that Clattenberg is used to Premier League players getting up so quickly after being fouled, most are too busy rolling around in agony trying to get their "assailant" sent off. I think he could be regarded as unlucky (at least that is what I'll be telling my mate when we go out for a beer on Wednesday - he was there and is not too happy!) If the United fans were unhappy with the style of football under LVG, they will hate it under Mourinho, but winning matches generally keeps most happy.
