QPR AGREE JAY EMMANUEL-THOMAS DEAL
R’s clinch third signing of the summer as Jay Emmanuel-Thomas jets in
QPR have agreed a deal to bring Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to Loftus Road.
The 24 year-old has signed a pre-contract agreement and will officially join the R’s on July 1st, when his existing deal with Bristol City reaches its conclusion.
Emmanuel-Thomas, who has agreed a three year deal, played a pivotal role in helping the Robins clinch promotion from League One to the Championship last term, scoring 12 goals in 48 appearances. QPR Head Coach, Chris Ramsey, has welcomed the addition of his third summer signing, telling http://www.qpr.co.uk: “I’ve always admired Jay from afar, and I’m really delighted we’ve reached an agreement to bring him here.
“There was a lot of hype surrounding him when he was a young player at Arsenal, and although he’s had a very steady career since then, this is now a real opportunity for him to really kick on at QPR.
“We’ll give him the platform to play and express himself. He’s got flair, he’s a good runner with the ball and he’s got great versatility.
“He is already a very good player, but his potential to keep improving is fantastic.”
Emmanuel-Thomas, who is a product of the Arsenal academy, is relishing the move to W12, adding: “This is a new chapter for me and I can’t wait to get started here.
“As soon as I spoke to Les and Chris and they explained the way they want QPR to play, it was an easy decision for me.
“I'm here to come in and do a job and I'm confident I can keep improving as a player.”
Les Ferdinand, QPR’s Director of Football, added: “Jay fits the bill with what we are trying to do here this summer – and going forward over the coming years.
“He’s a young, hungry player with a great desire to keep improving and bettering himself.
“He can play in all the front positions, either as a 10, a main striker, or a wide player.
“QPR is a great platform for him to take his game to the next level and we’re really pleased to have him here.”
