Hoilett tells QPR he wants to leave
By David McIntyre 09/05/2016Junior Hoilett has told QPR he wants to leave the club and has no interest in signing a new deal. Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has indicated that out-of-contract trio Alejandro Faurlin, Clint Hill and Karl Henry are not part of his plans. But he wanted to keep Hoilett, whose contract also expires this summer. However, the Canadian, who was signed in 2012, believes he will return to the Premier League, and has no intention of re-signing. Swansea City were offered Hoilett, 25, but declined to sign him when he was made available on a free transfer last summer, but they now appear to be interested. Hasselbaink is keen to revamp him squad this summer Hasselbaink is keen to revamp him squad this summer Midfielder Faurlin is a huge fans favourite and the Rangers hierarchy are keen for him to be retained. He has been at Loftus Road for seven eventful years, during which he has suffered three cruciate injuries and played a key role in QPR’s promotion to the Premier League in 2011 – a triumph that was confirmed only after the club escaped a points deduction for breaching regulations in the deal to sign him from Argentinean outfit Instituto two years earlier. Hill also played an important role in that promotion and the one three years later – the play-off victory against Derby means he is the only player other than 1967 League Cup-winning captain Mike Keen to lead a QPR team up the Wembley steps to collect a trophy. The 37-year-old joined Rangers on a free transfer from Crystal Palace in 2010 and has made 185 appearances for the club. Henry, 33, was signed in 2013 and last summer decided to take up an option in his two-year deal that entitled him to a further year’s contract. Other players approaching the end of their QPR contract include Samba Diakite, Armand Traore and keeper Rob Green, who will all certainly leave. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/junior-hoilett-qpr-contract

My first post on this tread comes from the Brent & Kilburn Times www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/qpr_transfer_news_aaron_pierre_still_a_target_as_rangers_look_to_bolster_defence_1_4527632QPR transfer news: Aaron Pierre still a target as Rangers look to bolster defence12:04 09 May 2016 By Sean Gallagher, QPR correspondent QPR remain interested in a move for Wycombe Wanderers defender Aaron Pierre, while they continue to monitor developments regarding Henri Lansbury’s future. As exclusively revealed by The Times back in January, Pierre - who was named in the PFA League Two team of the year - has been earmarked by the Rangers hierarchy as a potential signing. The former Brentford youngster, who has a year left on his deal at Adams Park, has come on leaps and bounds during his two-year spell with the Chairboys. The Times understands that the tough-tackling centre-half would welcome a move to QPR, who signed his former team-mate Matt Ingram in the winter transfer window. Lansbury, who has a year left on his current deal at Nottingham Forest, is seen as the ideal type of player to bolster their midfield options, but newly-promoted Premier League outfit Burnley are also keen on striking a deal with the 25-year-old. Elsewhere, former Rangers boss Neil Warnock is in advanced talks with Rotherham over becoming their manager on a permanent basis. The Times understands QPR’s head physio Nigel Cox is likely to join Warnock at the New York stadium, should the former agree terms. Clint Hill and Alejandro Faurlin will be on Warnock’s horizon if he opts to extend his 27-year managerial career this summer.

Henry and Hill have been great bargains for QPR and really served us well, will certainly wish them well if they go. Surprised Hill hasnt been incorporated into the coaching side, unless he still feels he has a year or two still to offer.
Will be gutted to see Ale and Junior go though, really hoped they might stay, guess wages the issue with Hoillett.
We have four strikers at the minute though who wouldnt get us out of League One let alone the Championship so hope we do some business in this area.

Sorry but this really blows! Clint's old I get it but Ale is only in his late 20's and played well this season. I think almost everyone agreed that we missed him when he wasn't on the pitch no?
And they both actually love the club. I can't imagine Ale would hold us up for much $$ considering we stuck with him through his injury, it just seems to me that these are the exact players we need to have around and yet Hoilett may stay???

Just a tongue in cheek comment but when Lansbury and Caulker played together for England U21 (2 matches) England scored 10 goals kept two clean sheets with Lansbury getting two goals and Caulker one. Oh for form like that.

Queens Park Rangers are set to bid a total of £4 million for two Nottingham Forest players this summer, according to The Sun. The London club want to sign midfielder Henri Lansbury, who has been linked with a move away recently, along with defender Michael Mancienne. QPR confirmed this week that they are set to release seven players this summer, meaning that boss Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink will have some work to do in the transfer market. Lansbury, 25, began his career at Arsenal, where he made only three league appearances before joining Nottingham Forest in 2012. The midfielder has since gone on to make over 100 appearances for Forest, but was heavily linked with a move to Burnley last summer. Mancienne, 28, made four league appearances for Chelsea before switching to Hamburg after loan spells with QPR and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Signing for Forest in 2014, Mancienne has made 67 league appearances. Following the appointment of Hasselbaink earlier this season, QPR will be looking to get promoted back to the Premier League next season. It looks as though they have started their search for a promotion-seeking squad early. the72.co.uk/53977/qpr-in-4-million-move-for-two-nottingham-forest-players/

Mancienne would be good. He was great here on loan but that was a few yeas back mind you. I thought he would have been a great partner for Clarke Carlisle

A defensive central midfider and CB partner for Hall are absolutely vital in this offseason.
Burnley appear to be interested in Lansbury so I imagine he'd want the chance to play Premier League football over another slog in the Championship.

From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-ready-raid-burton-albion-11323045?QPR ready to raid Burton Albion again - Hasselbaink wants a defender now13:44, 12 MAY 2016 UPDATED 13:45, 12 MAY 2016 BY PAUL WARBURTON Rangers chief looks to target the devil he knows at the Pirelli rather than risk precious money on untried and untested from elsewhere Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has Damien McCrory on the QPR wish list - and all it needs is a better wage offer than modest Burton’s to secure the out-of-contract player. The 26-year-old left sided defender cum wingback ticks all the Rs boxes of adaptability, goal-scoring, and affordability - as well as plugging the pesky left-back spot. Rangers have gone down the route of plucking the best from lower leagues and polishing. And though Hoops have heralded a new dawn of watching the pennies, newly promoted Burton pay even less on average gates of 4,000. Leicester loanee Paul Konchesky, James Perch and Jack Robinson all appeared on the Rs left last season with varying degrees of success. Yun-suk-Young was allowed to leave at the end of his contract, so JFH needs at least one extra option as he rebuilds on a budget for next term. Irishman McCrory helped Burton to the League Two title in 2014-15, and won international caps for his country at under-18 and under-19 levels. His five goals in 36 appearances under Hasselbaink in the Burton League Two title campaign adds an extra incentive to reunite him with left midfielder Nasser El-Khayati who joined Rs in February for £350,000.

Good news from the South Wales Evening Post Francesco Guidolin keen on permanent deal for Leroy Fer as Swansea City hatch transfer plansBy South Wales Evening Post | Posted: May 12, 2016 By Gareth Vincent Leroy Fer has impressed Francesco Guidolin since joining Swansea City on loan FRANCESCO Guidolin has revealed he is keen to keep Leroy Fer after sitting down with Huw Jenkins to thrash out Swansea City's summer transfer plans. Guidolin has explained that while he will have a say, the process of strengthening Swansea's squad this summer will be overseen by Jenkins. Guidolin, who will be referred to as Swansea's manager rather than head coach after signing a new two-year deal this week, has already discussed the areas where he feels new faces are needed with his chairman. But he says Jenkins, along with the club's scouting staff, will play a central role in recruitment work during the close season. One of Swansea's first decisions of the summer will be on Fer, whose loan spell from Queens Park Rangers comes to an end after Sunday's season-ending game against Manchester City. And though he knew little about Fer when the Dutch international arrived in January, Guidolin is now a fan. "Leroy has been a good surprise," he said. "I didn't know him before but he has helped the team in the last part of the season, he is a good player and it is possible he stays here. "He is an option. I don't know if he wants to stay, I think so, but he could be a good option to stay." Fer has just a year to remain on his Loftus Road contract, and is unlikely to be too expensive. Guidolin claims he does not know how much money Swansea have to play with in this summer's market, and is also reluctant to talk about the number of signings he wants. "I cannot say how many and which areas," he said. "It's not possible for me to speak about this. "Our chairman knows our situation better than me. I have only been here four months and he is an expert and the chairman. "In general I think it's a good idea to change some players every summer. "What I think about our team is that we have a good team — I saw that early on when I came here. "When I watched the first half against Everton I saw qualities in my players. The first half was perfect. It's important to change things, but also that our team is a good team. "Having spent his entire career on the Continent until coming to Wales, Guidolin is used to coaching players who are chosen for him by his employers. It is unlikely to work exactly like that at Swansea, but the Italian will not be a boss who demands full control of transfer policy. "Our chairman knows what I need and what I think is best for our team," he said. "I speak about a type of player and compare individuals. "I can say I like what this player does but not what another one does to compare characteristics." Guidolin explained that his discussions with Jenkins about transfers have been based around Swansea playing his preferred system. The 60-year-old has tried a number of different set-ups since arriving in SA1, including the often-maligned midfield diamond. Guidolin had been known for starting with three central defenders during his time in Italy, but his plan at Swansea is to stick with the formation which has served the club well since Roberto Martinez was in charge. "My favourite shape is 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with three midfielders, two wingers and one striker, but it is important for a manager and players to know many shapes and systems because it is important to be able to change," he said. Swansea hope Jefferson Montero may play some part this weekend after he sat out last weekend's win over West Ham with a hamstring injury. Wouldnt you have expected our wise Manager to have started playing it a little now the Fabs? Or is it going to be the excuse that he didnt have the players to do it this year. And so it goes it goes on, he buys more players to play a specific way and they have to start playing this way at the start of a new season. Sounds a bit like the 4-3-3 season in Prem to me. From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qprs-steven-caulker-caught-between-11328208?QPR's Steven Caulker - caught between a rock and a hard place after Liverpool setback12:53, 13 MAY 2016 UPDATED 12:54, 13 MAY 2016 BY PAUL WARBURTON Rangers looking for a buyer for the right price might prove a task after player's career baulks at both Anfield and Southampton Steven Caulker faces the inevitable return to QPR and the Championship slog if they can't find someone to fork out close to £5 million for the central defender - and even then they stand to take a hit. Rangers paid close to a reported £8m for the Cardiff City defender in July 2014 on a four-year contract, and there were plenty envious Hoops had secured a top talent who missed not a single game for the Bluebirds the previous season. But things for the Feltham born-and-bred player have gone bottoms up since. In fact, the England international has made almost as many headlines off the pitch as on it. The club had to vigorously deny he was involved in a dust-up at a 2014 Christmas party but admitted he suffered a head wound. In May last year, there was a reported altercation at the O2 Arena during a concert. Then in October, he was fined £1,000 for a public order offence at a night club in Esher, close to where he lives in Woking. But on the pitch, the player heavily involved in African charity work has suffered an arid 12 months. His loan to Southampton amounted to only eight appearances, ironically the last of which was a 6-1 defeat to Liverpool in December 2015 - his next port of call. But pickings were even leaner at Anfield where he made just three outings in red - the last in a 0-0 FA Cup draw with West Ham in January.

Hard to see a buyer for Caulker from the Prem as it looks like he's burnt his bridges there.
I'm not sure if any other Championship clubs would take him off us as I imagine that he's on hefty wages. Maybe Newcastle, who desperately need central defenders, but I suspect that they have their own fill of high earners that they too will need to shift.
It may be that the only viable option for him is to come back, tail between his legs, and actually apply himself to playing the CB role alongside Grant Hall.
If he sorts his head out he's the best CB in this division and he's already our player. The question now is whether he's prepared to knuckle down and work or if he just wants to continue to booze and brawl his talent away.
