As a left sided centre back he has some big boots to fill.
So who is first choice to play along side him? Hall or Onouha?

The team were disgraceful to put in a performance like that and Hodgsons tactics have been mind blowing. Lets face it we played 4 games and won just one in the last minute. Dont care who the boss is, wouldnt suprise me if the gave it to a couple of clowns like Southgate and Pearce, would sum us up. Can't disagree with any of that. Who would you offer the job to Harr? Guus Huddink?

Gladstone continues to set the pace. He, and the rest of us, can be pleased that Eus has only just started to predict scores, his points per match average is by far the highest (and Portugal don't look quite so funny now.....) Rumours the Hodgson has been approached by the government regarding formulating a plan to get us out of the EU are apparently unfounded.

Wish we'd been drawn away, there'd be no temptation to go then......
The last time I saw us win a cup match was against Leicester in January 1987!

I would like to suggest (and I'm sure Sharky is in agreement) That Blatant Fowl and his 1 point and Kent's bogus account of 4 points are put back on the table to make us feel better. I could add in Eus as well, he has only predicted on a couple of matches.

It makes sense, to me at least, to do the whole round in one batch, so here goes:
Saturday: Switzerland 1 - 2 Poland Wales 1 - 0 Northern Ireland Croatia 2 - 1 Portugal
Sunday: France 2 - 1 R. of Ireland Germany 2 - 0 Slovakia Hungary 1 - 2 Belgium
Monday: Italy 1 - 1 Spain England 1 - 0 Iceland
Score at 90 minutes if conclusive, if not then at 120 mins regardless; draws at 120 minutes are taken as draws.

I can't believe that Serrant has survived this long, our players never seem to be fit. Hopefully that is about to change. I'm a bit worried that there is a bloke called Sharky involved though

We need to start getting some players in? Players back in, friendlies starting. Are we not supposed to be playing the friendlies with some of the new additions ? What additions ? We are pretty much hamstrung until the likes of Sandro and Fer are shifted out, unless you'd consider re-signing Gobern......

I thought Portugal played well, sometimes it just happens this way, they should have had the three points. Austria offered nothing much. They think they are thro already So hope Iceland give them a good game. I like to see the good teams progress so hope Portugal win there last match. I dont like Pepe though, think he is a horrid player. Thank harr...I was waiting for giggling at the back of the class to settle down...thought we looked good and the best thing about Austria was their fans. Pepe's like Bircham or Barton you love him if he's yours (though never like Barton really) and hate him if he's someone elses. Wouldnt surprise me if we spank Hungary. Anyway as soon as I can sort out flikr I'll get some photos up. Still giggling here Eus.....but hope that you are having a good time and do fear for Hungary.

The "round of 16" starts on Saturday, the fixtures will be up on Thursday evening at the latest after a table update.

Table as at Saturday 18th after Ronaldo's latest strop. Gladstone is clearly trying to ruin this as a contest, but the race for second place is tight. The good news is that I'm ahead of both TerryB and Bowles and so am winning the separate back row of MU competition! Caley Thistle sign former QPR man Jake Mulraney on two-year dealCaley Thistle manager Richie Foran has made his second signing of the summer after 20 year-old midfielder Jake Mulraney joined the club on a two year deal. The Republic of Ireland under-21 international, is moving to Inverness after being released by Queen’s Park Rangers. Mulraney had spells on loan last season at Dagenham and Redbridge and Stevenage Town. Foran said: “We are delighted to get Jake tied up on a pre-contract. He brings something different to the squad, he has plenty of pace and will prove a real handful for any defence. He is a really direct player who I’m sure will quickly become a favourite.” Mulraney will join his new club when the players report for training at the end of the month. He said: “I’m very happy to sign and can’t wait to get going. I already know Aaron Doran and everyone else I’ve met so far has been great. I’m really looking forward to the new season.” www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sport/football/inverness-caledonian-thistle/950870/caley-thistle-sign-former-qpr-man-jake-mulraney-two-year-deal/Mulraney rejected a new contract with QPR recently and should be congratulated for seeking first team football. Good luck to him.

they are both mine but I should have deleted kent as the one I use most is kenthoop ,not worried about putting points together ,think I am doing alright so far with kenthoop ,I will see if I can delete kent sorry for any confusion I've merged your scores. It is concertinaing nicely at the top after Northern Ireland's magnificent win, there are only 4 points between the top 10.

Strange goings-ons at the top of the table with Gladstone surging clear, Canada chasing hard. I'll pm them both a copy of the table if they want so they can show their grandchildren that they were once ahead of the mighty Bushman!
