Sunderland fans will be going crazy that they did not beat us. They'll have thought before the game that we were there for the taking.
It was an OK result for us in a season where we are doing OK.
That ought to be enough. Sacking managers in a similar position is past seasons was wrong so lets not do it again.

It is an ex players association and that's fine.
If we only limit it to legends then we don't need a hall of fame, just a cubicle of fame. Not the we could agree what constitutes a legend anyhow.
What Dennis did that day was amazing and letting him get presented at LR for one time...cannot see the harm in that, it's fun to reminisce about one of our best performances of the premiership era.

The population of Hammersmith and Fulham is approximately 180,000. We get gates of around 15,000. By purely a guess, I think a significant number of our fans travel in from outside anyway (I do) so I doubt more than half are are coming from the borough.
So I wonder with those of you on this board who do live in the borough, why does it matter so much to keep pursuing these difficult options like Old Oak and the LC Stadium? We would only need to go a few miles west where land is a little cheaper and more plentiful. To my perception, transport options could be better. Given our nomadic origins (albeit 100 years ago) - I am not convinced that our soul is tied to the area as much as we might think and the number of people through the gates does back that up. Is it possible that the majority of locals don't actually care as much as we think? Just look at the opposition we have faced on the training ground! That tortuous process where we have faced barrier after barrier also suggests we over emphasize our significance to the community. Obviously, to a small core of the community it is incredibly important to remain but beyond that relatively small hardcore base I am not so sure.
I know this will be offensive to some but I am genuinely just trying to understand. I am not talking about moving to Milton Keynes, just a pragmatic solution where current fans can still get to their club easily and a "new" community can be built while still supporting and celebrating our heritage.
In my opinion, this could also be the key to unlocking a larger fanbase that could justify a 30k seater stadium.

Bidwell was established as captain at Brentford. He's been with us long enough and is likely to make the side regularly with our other defenders injured.

That's a shame but it's over and that's that. Good luck Clint wherever you end up.

It's a shame but Ollie has put us in such a positive position it is easy to accept the odd blip.

You spoil our fun you meanie. Seriously, if he performed badly in the U23s game its better to let Carlisle have him but if he is up for pulling on the hoops one last time (or 30 times depending on injuries) then I think he has enough affinity for QPR that it would be an easy decision for both sides, especially if the offer is there for him to remain in a coaching capacity afterwards. I think he probably has more opportunity for his future as a player coach at Carlisle than he does sitting with us as emergency cover. I cannot see him being given a coaching role with us at the moment (unless someone else leaves) although I would prefer Hill to Bircham any day. Sadly you might be right although we can have as many coaches as the manager decides is viable so there is no barrier except the old adage that too many cooks... Worse is that it will be difficult for him to stay fit if he never gets a game - that's what I have understood from seeing other players getting towards and beyond 40. Assuming we are interested, he may see coming back to London as better for his family than going to Carlisle. Not sure what his family circumstances are and whether that has an impact.

Just a slight reality check - he's only training with us so far, not 'officially' back with us. Keith Curle is apparently chasing his signature at Carlisle.

I think he and Ollie will hit it off as well.
Let's hope he can prove enough fitness that he earns a deal.

So to continue this thread or Start a new one? Time for a new one IMO. I notice there is advanced discussion about moving the end of the transfer window to before the season starts. Probably a better way to do business and would reduce the circus around deadline day.

Kolo Toure as a free agent centre back will do for me. Wages might be an issue though, plus the social media outrage because of his age. Still a one season or pay as you play deal would be ok. Never going to happen but no harm in dreaming. Never say never but I think Bassong or Belkalem might have a higher chance of accepting our wage possibilities and are a little younger. For me, I think the memory of Rio Ferdinand is too fresh to think that a 36 year old ex premiership star is going to work! I'd give Clint a go though, even if he is twice Marcus Rashford's age.

About an hour ago GetWestLondon had a story up saying we had beaten Aston Villa to get him, the fee was agreed and the deal only now subject to his medical. But it's since been taken down so make of that what you will...
