The clean out begins. We need a good tactic and a good fitness coach.

I doubt there's anything wrong with them - or that their replaements will be any better. It's just something that always happens: New manager likes his own team

For all the wrong reasons have they got the right man? Really interesting point, that. Do you mean in terms of the club essentially going for a PR friendly appointment due to how poorly the previous managers have been treated but actually, an appointment like that could be the bit of positivity the team need? It's not bullet-proof - Les is a QPR legend doing a really complicated job (and well so far, I believe) but he still gets horrific abuse from people online. Some of it is pure ignorance of his actual job, some of it is impatience and a small but vocal amount of it is explicitly racist. After Holloway's experiences at Millwall and Palace, he looked a shell of his former self because of the pressure - I just hope he's given the time he needs as I think negativity from our fans would hurt him more than it would hurt others. Bottom line is that we keep going through these cycles. We want an old footballing head. Doesn't work, we want new blood. Young and hungry managers who see QPR as a step up, let them develop. No, we don't like the inconsistency, new blood. Now get a 'QPR man' in, someone who 'gets' the club, has pride and will give us some identity. Will it work? I really hope so. I think two and a half years isn't the right move with our history and so on - I'd see Holloway more as a manager to steady the ship and re-assess in May. But best of luck to him - for all the uncertainty I absolutely love Ollie and really wish him well. As others have said elsewhere online, I don't feel like we've been fair in terms of time to quite a few of our previous managers. If it takes Ollie's legendary status to afford him that extra time then so be it, here's hoping it works. Genuinely think it will devastate Holloway if we turn on him. Pretty much, yes. I'm sure his popularity weighed disproportionally in his favour. However, if we get off to a good start we could build up some confidence and momentum. I do believe that we have some good players at the club who can play far better than we've seen so far this season. As for the 2 1/2 year contract, I'd suggest it is about right. If he'd been offered less the board would have been accused of not showing enough confidence in their latest man, and I'm sure that there will be a severance clause of 1 year's salary.

Crikey, he hasnt even got the job yet - Why so caustic, only see what you want to see from his sackings - Guardiola aside every fkin Manager gets sacked at some point! He got Blackpool and Palace promoted FFS!l Caustic? I only said a few posts above that I was quite excited about Holloway coming in - I don't reckon he's the long term answer (amazing if he was, mind), neither do loads of people. I've never knocked Holloway's record, QPR under him was the happiest I've probably ever been following the club. My only points above were that we can blame the board as much as we want and justifiably so but at some point we have to look at ourselves as fans - the bile with which we react to our own managers and the toxic atmosphere we create for our own players to play in - that has a role. And secondly, if you sack a manager in November, you get a hell of a lot less options than you would in the Summer. Does that make Holloway a bad choice? Not necessarily, might just be the positive injection we need. Does it mean that we could have got someone better had we waited? Probably, yeah. I don't reckon that's caustic. Bow, I was primarily commenting on Scarlets comment that Ollies been sacked 3 times and added it to your commet, no offence meant young fella.

Never mind, the sweet shop will be open soon, while i'm busy buying up all the toys to fill your pram. Its not me that has the problem with this appointment and is whinging about it. But if you're buying, then a nice big bar of Galaxy would be gratefully received. Very kind of you to offer, scarlet.

As i support my team i want them to do well whatever manager we have, the big but was i did not want him before he got the job, don't really want birch either, but it looks like he's going to anyway so as i said i will support the club. Intresting piece from Dave Mac.
Take the rose-tinted glasses off and Holloway is still a QPR hero

My 17 years covering QPR have been eventful to say the least, never more so than during Ian Holloway’s five-year spell as manager.
That spell is often seen through rose-tinted glasses, without which Holloway and his first reign can both be seen in a much less favourable light.
And yet, Holloway, warts and all, deserves his status as a QPR hero and in many ways is now a much better manager.
The vampire It started with a press conference in which Holloway, recently sacked by Bristol Rovers and perceived as a thoroughly uninspiring appointment, initially seemed intent on picking up where Gerry Francis left off.
Francis, whose dismal team were heading for relegation, was always quick to point out that he didn’t need football and could walk away.
Holloway duly began by explaining he had enjoyed time off with his family and had been in no rush to get back into football. It all sounded depressingly familiar.
Then he declared: “But once you’re bitten, you’re a bloody vampire, and I can’t wait to get started!”
From that moment, everything changed.
The cave Holloway went on to be credited with restoring pride to the club, as well as tangible success in the form of promotion and a good first season in the Championship.
But it was off the pitch that the manager few initially wanted began to establish himself as a fans favourite.

Recently sacked by a club in the division below, and propelled into what he regarded as a dream job, he might have been forgiven for seeking to stay firmly on-message with the top brass.
Not a bit of it. At a time when a merger or relocation were being discussed, he threw his lot in with the fans.
So much so that after a conversation with Holloway in which he famously insisted “This is our cave and this is where we live” in response to a proposed move to the Heathrow area, I asked if he was sure he wanted to take such a strong tone. He was clear; he wanted to show solidarity with the fans.
Holloway was willing to defend Chris Wright, arguing the then club owner had lost millions and had tried his best. But he was not keen on some of the ideas being put forward for the post-Wright era Rangers were entering.
A few weeks later, at Huddersfield after relegation had been confirmed, we spoke by the side of the pitch.
Again his words helped cement his support among a previously sceptical fan base. His pledge that “everything we’ve lost we’ll get back” struck a chord in a big way.
The Terminal The words were backed up by action. In came several players whose contributions mean they remain popular figures today.
The play-offs, promotion at Hillsborough, a noisy and often full Loftus Road; it’s an era fondly remembered and rightly so.
But behind the scenes, a storm was brewing.
Gianni Paladini had come on board, bringing Antonio Caliendo and money from Monaco with him, and a bad run of results in the Championship led to former Argentina international Ramon Diaz being lined up to take over.
It’s not easy to tell a manager you’re about to run a story, seemingly completely out of the blue, that he’s set to be replaced by a guy who has just touched down in London.
I know no other manager whose concern wouldn’t understandably be for himself and his position. After taking the news in for a second, his main gripe was that this Diaz bloke would be given money to spend on players that he had been hoping to have. It was an extraordinary response, yet typical Holloway.
He looked a goner that day. But he remained popular with fans and there seemed a chance that if news of the board’s plan broke before the deal was done, the response from supporters and players might save him.

That response was an outcry from fans, Diaz put on hold, and a seven-match winning run that kept the Holloway bandwagon going for a while yet.
He cheekily compared Diaz to a Tom Hanks character in a film, The Terminal, released around that time, in which a man is forced to live in an airport after being denied entry to the USA.

I will judge Holloway on what he achieves here NOW over the next year or two years etc. Forget all the other Clubs he has managed and done well or poor at, I'm not intetested in what Millwal fans think of him.
I will start with Norwich and see where are in the table next November after he surely keeps us up in this division. One thing he wont lack is passion and love for the club, just needs to assemble a few more decent players with Les, some that can actually lead on the pitch, including a new Captain.
Then and only then we might start to see a different QPR that actually puts a shift in for a full 90 minutes.

And today Birminghams crazy owners sack Rowett with them in 7 th place. A great young upcoming Manager we tried to get the 2nd time a few weeks ago and he stayed loyal to them.
Almost as Crazy as Derby sacking Clement in 5th. Clowns.
