From Bristol City's Offie. Looks like Gladwin's injury wasn't that serious which is good news. Gladwin returns to Bristol after injuryPosted: Thu 11 Feb 2016 Author: Adam Baker Midfielder has injection back at his parent club. Ben Gladwin has returned to City and is âtouch and goâ for Saturdayâs Sky Bet Championship match against Ipswich Town (3pm). The QPR loan midfielder returned to his parent club to undergo medical treatment after suffering a knee injury in training. QPRâs physiotherapist opted to give Gladwin an injection before sending him back to the South West, and Cityâs medical team will now assess the former Swindon man before deciding whether he is fit to return to the squad. âItâs touch and go at the moment,â Johnson told Bristol City Player HD. âHeâs back with us after having an injection for the injury. Itâs like heâs had oil in his joint. âItâs just whether heâs fit enough to come back on to the bench, or whether we wait and return him to training on Monday.â Korey Smith had a slight knock to his ankle but should be fine for the weekend. âHeâs a trooper and will be fine,â added Johnson, as he looked ahead to his sold-out first game in charge. Queens Park Rangers' left-back, Yun Suk-Young, will make a loan switch to The Valley next week. The 26-year-old South Korean international has had a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury, and now finds his path back to the first team blocked by former Addick, Paul Konchesky. Yun becomes the fifth defender to arrive at the Valley since January, Roger Johnson, Jorge Teixeira, Rod Fanni and Marco Motta being the others.

....and more from the Sevenoaks Chronicle Charlton set to land South Korean international Yoon Suk-Young from QPRBy Sevenoaks Chronicle | Posted: February 14, 2016 Charlton Athletic are believed to be on the verge of bringing in Queens Park Rangers defender Yoon Suk-Young to the club on loan. The left-back, who has overcome a long-term injury, would provide experience to Charlton's backline towards the Championship run-in. If Suk-Young makes the move, Charlton will have a wealth of experience at the back to field, following the likes of Rod Fanni, Roger Johnson and Jorge Teixeria. The Addicks may have kept a clean sheet against Cardiff City on Saturday, but it seems the final third of the pitch needs improving. Yaya Sanogo and Igor Vetokele could provide that once up to speed, due to injury and settling in, respectively. As reported on the specific thread. Like Lone says, can't understand why they aren't playing Yun. WTF is Les smoking or taking? This guy should be our starting left back. FFS, Jesus wept. On the face of it I might agree but maybe put in it a slightly different way
However I have a feeling that there must be something more behind the scenes with Yun than we know. He has been injured for some periods and then left on the sidelines by a succession of coaches and managers. There must be some reason why but as usual I suppose we will never know.
Just thinking about Yun though made me look at things from the alternative universe perspective
Back at the start of the season we could have fielded the following team
Green Yun, Onuoha, Caulker, Traore Hoillet, Fer, Sandro, Diakite, Phillips, Austin
Subs Henry Hill.
And that's after letting go all the players out of contract at the end of last season and McCarthy
All of those have been around for a while, played PL football and were no doubt all on PL salaries. Until all of the above are off the books we will never be back to "normality" and will have the stone around our necks from FFP.
Losing Sandro Caulker and Fer for the rest of the season and the sale of Austin has helped, but the rest are still there. I believe we still have to thin down the squad as much as possible for the rest of the season on cost grounds. Now we are in the loan window the only players we can loan out are those who will be attractive and affordable to clubs in the lower leagues. We are stuck with the high earners as no one was interested in them at their wages and are forced to look at other ways to save some cash.
As a result the loans of people who are not going to make the squad, like JET, make sense. Loans of younger players to both save, albeit small, cash and give them game time and experience with the hope they can come back and make the team also make sense. And just maybe loaning Yun has good reasons beyond cash only - especially if Robinson is close to fitness.
Of course I can argue that we should not have signed some of the new players we have signed until the big earners have gone - but then we could have been in the position of having nobody if late deals had been done for those who have to go. Also of course we can rightly argue that we are still paying for the mistakes of the last 5 years - but we are where we are, and have to work our way out of it regardless of why we are there. Playing the blame game is not going to resolve anything.

Havving read the below on BBC maybe Sir Les should jump on a plane to China and off load a couple of our high earners! "West Ham striker Nikica Jelavic has joined Chinese second division side Beijing Renhe for about ÂŁ2m. The 30-year-old Croatia international has made one Premier League start this season under compatriot Slaen Bilic. He follows Chelsea's Ramires, who joined Jiangsu Suning for ÂŁ25m last month, while striker Jackson Martinez joined Guangzhou Evergrande for ÂŁ31m. The Colombian left Atletico Madrid for the Chinese Super League side, breaking the Asian transfer record. Jelavic signed for West Ham for ÂŁ3m from Hull in August 2015, but has scored only once in the league despite making 12 appearances from the bench. He previously played for Everton and Rangers. Meanwhile, former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill is leaving Chinese football after his contract was terminated by Shanghai Shenhua." www.bbc.com/sport/football/35586689

FURIOUS Yun going is a strange one, but Perch has been doing OK recently. I imagine it's all about getting the wage bill down, FFP and all that. After all, Yun came in while we were handing out big money contracts and, although I'm sure he was relatively low-cost compared to the big earner of that time, I suspect compared to the latest intake he'll be a relatively big earner. We're going to see a VERY different QPR in terms of spending... think Burnley 4 years back.

Or do you think that Ferdinand has instructed them all not to play him? Hopefully Robinson is close to a first team call up.

Interesting to see the different reactions to the fact that Charlton have signed Yun and Motta.
On the one hand Motta who has never played for us and has never been seen by many of our supporters was written off as a bench warmer who we should not sign and not a word has been posted about his signing. Then Yun who has become a proven injury impacted bench warmer under a succession of coaches is loaned and we see the reactions posted above.
Still the most pleasing thing about transfers at the moment is the lack of rumours. For the past 4 or 5 seasons every morning our name appeared on the internet rumour pages linked to everyone and anyone. It is so good to be able to browse through the rumours without seeing our name mentioned. That indicates to me both that our splash the cash days are over, and that the management of LF and Hoos have been or are conducting any transfer discussions quietly and in the confidence as they should be.

Probably because of the fact Motta appears to be just a journeyman and someone who we really dont want at the Club even for a short term deal and Yun who has always given his all and played for the shirt when asked. As far as I would go, Motta we didnt sign well avoided, did we really need him and Yun we should have kept.

From talksport Swindon Town snap up former QPR youngster Jamie Sendles-WhiteBy talkSPORT (@talksport) | Tuesday, February 16, 2016 Swindon Town snap up former QPR youngster Jamie Sendles-White Swindon Town have completed the signing of former QPR defender Jamie Sendles-White. The 21-year-old has been without a club since leaving Hamilton Academical following a short spell with the Scottish club and has now agreed a deal to move back south of the border. The former Northern Ireland Under-21 centre-back, who was released by QPR at the end of the 2014-15 season, has penned a contract with the Robins until the end of the current campaign. Sendles-White told Swindon's official website: "I'm very pleased to have signed. It's been quite a stressful couple of weeks getting everything sorted but I'm glad it's all sorted now and I can get my head down for the rest of the season. "I came in pre-season and once last season with a view to a loan but that didn't come through. It's a club that I like. I like the philosophy and I like how they play so I'm glad to be here." Some reports say we made an offer but could not agree terms. If true someone must have thought he could do a job
Should we have kept Yun - probably not. Obviously he has not fitted into the plans of a succession of coaches and we were paying him to be not even on the bench - and hopefully Robinson will soon be match fit.
All opinions of course

We dont really even know how good Robinson is. If its like all the other youngsters they have tried over the last 2 years, he will get 4 games and that will be that. We did know however that Yun was good enough for this League. Didnt Harry even play him regularly in the Prem. I would have kept Yun for sure. It is opinions though, very true.

He was frozen out at Liverpool (having made the fringe of the team) by a couple of large money signings. The only doubt is whether he has overcome his knee injury without any loss of pace or confidence in the tackle. Given his age, where we are in terms of team building and finances he must be the one we should be looking towards for the future rather than an Konch or Yun who clearly does not fit in for some reason.

I certainly agree he is one for the future, without doubt 57. I just would rather have kept Yun so next year we had Yun with us when Koncheskys loan deal runs out. If Yun goes to Charlton permanent, Konchesky back to Leicester, we need another LB. We havnt even sorted out RB yet .

Agree with that Harr and that leads to the question of what do we need to do in the summer (early summer!)to be ready for next season. Obvious areas are the full backs. Beyond that I think we need to strengthen right through the backbone. 1 A strong Centre Half to play with Hall, 2. a commanding midfielder who can build from the back along side Luongo (sorry Ale). Best way I could describe it is we need a duplicate Gerry Francis from his earlier days through to England years standard - and we need this person to be a real leader on the pitch and captain; 3. A strong goalscoring target man who can hold the ball up andlay it off and score (not much to wish for is it,) That means adding 5 players to the squad to turn it into a squad that can compete. Not necessarily win promotion at the first attempt but be knocking on the door. 5 sounds a lot but in modern times of 25 man squads it is not. Add those 5 to what we have acquired recently and there will hope. Of course the only way we can do that is by losing players first - Green Traore (Gobern Hoilett Diakite we know will be gone. Fer Sandro and Caulker have to go and hopefully we can sell Phillips for a few million. That will free the cash to sign those 5 or 6 if we include a Phillips replacement.

From the Offie LOAN RANGERS: SEVEN PLAYERS IN ACTION AT THE WEEKENDPUBLISHED 12:00 22nd February 2016 by @qprfc Football League, FA Cup and Scottish Championship action for QPRâs loan players ⌠- Brandon Comley returns from suspension for Carlisle - Michael Doughty helps Swindon to back to back wins - Darnell Furlong in 3-1 win with Cambridge United - Jay Emmanuel-Thomas plays 62 minutes in MK Dons defeat - Sandro exits FA Cup with West Brom - Osman Kakay suffers 2-0 defeat with Livingston BRANDON Comley returned from suspension to help Carlisle United to a 1-0 win against Stevenage. Comley, who missed Carlisleâs 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley midweek serving a one match ban, was back in the Cumbrians midfield at the weekend. Victory moves them within three points of the League Two play-off spots. Elsewhere in the division Darnell Furlong played the full 90 minutes for Cambridge United in their 3-1 win against York City on Saturday. The QPR right-back was making his seventh appearance for the Uâs who are now two points outside the League Two play-off spots. Meanwhile, Michael Doughty helped Swindon Town to a 3-2 win against Blackpool at the County Ground. Midfielder Doughty came through the full match as Nicky Ajoseâs 88th minute winner saw him grab a hat trick and Town all three points. Swindon are now 15th in League One. Striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was replaced after 62 minutes of MK Dons 2-0 defeat against Bristol City but Ben Gladwin was not in Cityâs matchday squad for the match as the midfielder returns to fitness following a knee problem. Defender Yun Suk-Young was an unused substitute for Charlton Athletic in their 3-0 defeat against Fulham that saw the Addicks go bottom of the Sky Bet Championship. In Scotland Osman Kakay was unable to prevent struggling Championship side Livingston suffer a 2-0 defeat at Raith Rovers with the Under-21s defender playing the full 90 minutes at Starkâs Park. Leroy Fer and Steven Caulker had a free weekends with Swansea City and Liverpool not in action following their FA Cup exit earlier this season. Sandro played 82 minutes for West Bromwich Albion in the Baggies disappointing FA Cup fifth round defeat against Reading. The Brazilian midfielder made way for Alex Pritchard eight minutes from time as Albion suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Madejski Stadium. Finally, Ben Pattie played 16 minutes of Hendonâs 3-2 Isthmian League Premier Division win against VCD Athletic. Norwich and Queens Park Rangers ready to battle it out for Celtic winger James Forrest Norwich and QPR are poised to offer James Forrest an escape route Forrest looks certain to cut his ties with his boyhood heroes this summer He has already turned down the offer of a new contract with the SPL club By JOHN MCGARRY FOR THE SCOTTISH DAILY MAIL PUBLISHED: 01:52, 23 February 2016 | UPDATED: 01:52, 23 February 2016 View comments Norwich and QPR are poised to offer James Forrest a summer escape route from Celtic. The 24-year-old winger looks certain to cut his ties with his boyhood heroes after rejecting the offer of a new contract. The Scotland internationalâs current deal ends in 2017 but his reluctance to commit to the four-year extension beyond that is set to expedite his departure from the Scottish champions. Norwich boss Alex Neil is in the market for a winger and is a known admirer of the player while QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is keen to take Forrest to Loftus Road. Now resigned to losing one of their star academy graduates, Celtic will entertain all reasonable offers for the player in the next transfer window rather than let his contract run down. âWe made him a very good offer,â said Celtic boss Ronny Deila. âWe offered him a contract and he has turned it down. I am disappointed on a personal level because we want to keep all of our good players at the club. âBut it has been made clear that he does not want to sign it. It was a good deal, a very good deal, that the club offered him and I donât think that there could be any complaints on his part about it. It was a solid offer from the club. âHe has told us that he wishes to see what his other options are. He wants to know what else there is. It is disappointing but I think that will be it from us. âI cannot see that we will go back to him with another improved deal because to my mind it was a very good offer that the club put to him. âJames is a great player and he is a player that we feel can get better. It is disappointing that he does not see his future with Celtic.â Forrest wasnât in the squad that beat Inverness 3-0 on Saturday â underscoring Deilaâs displeasure at the recent turn of events. Despite struggling with injuries since making his debut against Motherwell almost six years ago, Celtic have done all they could to get the player fully fit. Ironically, Deila recently spoke of his contentment at finally seeing Forrest running freely. Clearly dismayed that another club will now get the benefit of Celticâs patience, Deila pointed towards a parting of the ways in the summer. âYou also have to remember that this is a great club and to play for Celtic is a great privilege,â added Deila. âHe still has another year on his existing deal so we will see what is going to happen now. âBut it doesnât help anyone when you have players who donât want to be here. You want to have players who want to be part of what we are building.â Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3459456/Norwich-Queens-Park-Rangers-ready-battle-Celtic-winger-James-Forrest.html#ixzz40y6c67TV Follow us: @mailonline on Twitter | DailyMail on Facebook

From the Crawley Observer Crawley Town sign QPR midfielder Frankie Sutherland17:43Friday 26 February 2016 Crawley Town have made their second signing of the day with midfielder Frankie Sutherland on a one-month loan from Championship club Queenâs Park Rangers. Manager Mark Yates said: âFrankie has been with us for a couple of weeks and he played well in the friendly against Eastleigh on Tuesday. âHeâs got a chance with us now over the next month or so, when we have six games, to show us what he is about. âIâve been impressed with him so far and heâs young and hungry to do well. âQPR have been brilliant about it and Iâd like to thank Les Ferdinand, their director of football, for making it happen.â Sutherland is expected to be in the squad for tomorrowâs game against Leyton Orient. The West Londoner joined QPRâs youth system at the age of 11 and was given his first professional contract in 2012. Since then he has had loan spells with Portsmouth, tomorrowâs opponents Leyton Orient, AFC Wimbledon, where he had 11 games last season, and Dagenham & Redbridge, for whom he made four appearances earlier this campaign. Sutherland, 22, said: âIâve enjoyed being here and Iâm delighted to get this chance now. I know what League 2 is about from my various loan spells and I think I can make a good contribution here.â Read more: www.crawleyobserver.co.uk/sport/crawley-town-fc/crawley-town-news/crawley-town-sign-qpr-midfielder-frankie-sutherland-1-7233544#ixzz41KKywSWv

From The 72 the72.co.uk/48846/bristol-city-target-new-loan-signing/?Bristol City target new loan signing BY JAMES O'ROURKE ON FEB 29, 2016 BRISTOL CITY, CHAMPIONSHIP, FEATURED, QUEENS PARK RANGERS, TRANSFERS Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson has confirmed to the Bristol Post that he is likely to strengthen his squad in the emergency loan window. A loan space has freed up after Ben Gladwin, on loan from QPR, had to return to Loftus Road because of injury. That means there are only four loan players on the books at Ashton Gate, and Football League rules say that up to five can be in any one matchday squad at any point of the season. Johnson hopes to take advantage of that fact. Despite beating Nottingham Forest 2-1 away from home at the weekend, Johnson revealed that he would still like to bolster his squad. The Robins have enjoyed an upturn in form since Johnson took over, after leaving his role with League One side Barnsley. With Gladwin returning, it is expected that Johnson will look to recruit in the midfield area. The need to do so has strengthened even more after the injury to Corey Smith, which ruled him out of action for three trip to Nottingham. Speaking of Gladwin and the need to replace him, Johnson said it is an avenue he is exploring, âEven though the deal for Ben cannot be undone, his going back might mean we now look to recruit in a certain area.
âHe has gone back to QPR to be assessed and he will potentially need an operation. He felt something in his knee again and thatâs when he took the decision to send him back.â

Michael Doughty wins it for Swindon at Peterborough Leroy Fer makes Swansea City debut Sandro features from the bench for West Bromwich Albion MICHAEL Doughy went from zero to hero on Saturday afternoon, as his fine loan spell at Swindon Town continued. Doughty bounced back from conceding an early penalty to score a late goal and help the Robins beat Peterborough United in League One. The R's loanee brought down Marcus Maddison, who converted from the spot to give Posh a 12th-minute lead. Nicky Ajose levelled for the visitors with his 20th goal of the season with a fine free-kick that had Posh keeper Stu Moore well beaten on his debut in goal. Late on, Doughty struck a classy left-footed shot to seal three points for Swindon, lifting them into 12th place, seven points outside the play-off places. In the Premier League, Leroy Fer made his Swansea City debut against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. Fer entered the fray as a 75th minute substitute with the Swans leading 1-0, only for Spurs to score two late goals to maintain their tilt at the title. Sandro also featured, coming on as a late replacement as Tony Pulis' West Bromwich Albion side registered a crucial victory, holding off a second half revival from Crystal Palace, to run out 3-2 winners. In the Championship, Yun Suk-Young made his Charlton debut, as the division's bottom side lost a seven-goal thriller at home to Reading. The Addicks suffered a 4-3 defeat at The Valley - a result which left them rooted to the foot of the league, seven points adrift of safety. Jay Emmanuel Thomas was an unused substitute as MK Dons lost 3-2 at Blackburn Rovers. In League Two, Darnell Furlong played the full 90 minutes as Shaun Derry's Cambridge United side lost 2-1 at Portsmouth, whilst Brandon Comley played the first 45 minutes in Carlisle's impressive 2-1 win at Morecambe. Following his move to Crawley Town on Friday, Frankie Sutherland was an unused sub in their 2-0 defeat to Leyton Orient. Outside the Football League, Ben Pattie featured in Hendon's 2-0 victory over Staines Town in the Isthmian League Premier, whilst Aaron Mitchell and James Haran made their debuts in Havant & Waterlooville's 2-1 win versus Maidstone United in the Conference South. Meanwhile, in Scotland, Osman Kakay enjoyed a decent afternoon, as Livingston gained a crucial 3-1 win over fellow Championship strugglers Alloa - a result which boosted their survival chances. More on Gladwin from Get West London www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-midfielder-bristol-city-loanee-10972895?QPR midfielder and Bristol City loanee in trouble15:43, 1 MAR 2016 UPDATED 15:44, 1 MAR 2016 BY PAUL WARBURTON The man signed from Swindon in the summer is struggling with the recurrence of a same medical problem and is back in west London for treatment Ben Gladwin has returned to QPR from Bristol City with a worrying and persistent knee injury. The loan deal with the Robins can't be formally terminated, but Gladwin is facing the prospect of surgery as well as a lengthy spell on the sidelines. He returned to Loftus Road for treatment earlier this month and was given the all-clear to go back to City, who signed him for the rest of the season. But Gladwin is far from pain free that has left QPRâs medical team scratching their heads. Gladwin was signed from Swindon Town last summer as part of a package deal with Massimo Luongo and returned there on loan in October after making just two league appearances for Hoops. He was recalled soon after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was appointed manager so that the Dutchman could make up his own mind about his chances in the Championship. The 23-year-old former Hayes & Yeading player and removals man featured in the FA Cup defeat against Nottingham Forest and removed himself to Ashton Gate straight after.
