From London24 and no it wasn't QPR! Ravel Morrison ‘not in good condition’ and rejected Deadline Day loan switch 11:13 04 February 2016 Brad Pinard Former West Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison has been criticised by Lazio chiefs over his fitness and decision making. The ex-Manchester United academy starlet has failed to make much impact since joining the Serie A club officially in the summer. After a troublesome spell at West Ham, the clearly talented midfield man was hoping to thrive in Italy, but not yet up to speed, Lazio may be losing patience. “He’s not in good condition,” Lazio manager Stefano Pioli explained. “His adjustment period is over. He knows what he has to do - and what not to do - to be called-up. The same goes for him as all the others.” Morrison was linked with a move back to England on loan in January, but that never materialised and it now turns out the 23-year-old rejected the chance to get some game time with Serie B strugglers Salernitana. “Morrison refused to join Salernitana and I cannot force them to accept,” Lazio President Claudio Lotito. “He is a player of quality for Serie B, I’d say worthy of the Champions League. I tried to the last moment of the transfer window, but was unable to convince them. “I had also promised them some bonuses, but now they will stay at Lazio where they don’t play.” Read more at: www.london24.com/sport/football/clubs/west-ham/ravel_morrison_not_in_good_condition_and_rejected_deadline_day_loan_switch_1_4405453Copyright © LONDON24

The full unedited versions of Mcintyres take on the window "QPR’s transfer window: the answers to five important questions By David McIntyre 04/02/2016 collageqpr With the transfer window now closed, here are some answers to some of the most common questions QPR fans have been asking on social media about the club’s January dealings. Why didn’t QPR sell Matt Phillips? Rangers, who demanded £10m for Phillips when they rejected a bid from West Bromwich Albion in the summer, would probably have sold for around £7m this time around. Middlesbrough offered £6m but as it was their first offer and there were then 11 days of the transfer window remaining, and with West Brom, Watford and, to a lesser extent, Bournemouth showing an interest, there seemed a fair chance that Phillips could secure a move to the Premier League and Rangers could get a higher fee. There were strong indications that Boro would have been prepared to increase their bid, but the player’s wages might have been more of a problem and it’s far from certain that Phillips would have signed for another Championship club, albeit one in with a very strong chance of promotion. Watford looked elsewhere, while West Brom did not raise money by selling Saido Berahino and could not offload Callum McManaman – a player QPR were interested in – because he suffered an injury. So in the end Phillips stayed put. Phillips was expected to leave Rangers last month Phillips was expected to leave Rangers last month Why was Charlie Austin sold for just £4m? Austin would have been able to leave on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season because his contract was due to expire. He rejected numerous attempts by the club over a long period of time to tie him to a new contract, instead making it clear he wanted to keep his options open. Several big clubs were reported to be chasing Austin in the summer, but they quite simply weren’t. Rangers wanted £15m, but in the end there was no real decision to be made because the clubs that did make an approach, Leicester and Crystal Palace, were not of interest to Austin, who – as an English striker who had scored 18 Premier League goals – could have expected to be a tempting option in the summer for even the biggest clubs if he was available on a free. Southampton, however, was a somewhat unique case because of the location. When they came in for him and Austin made it clear he wanted to sign for them, Rangers decided to let him go. Austin made it clear he wanted to join Southampton Austin made it clear he wanted to join Southampton Did QPR get loan fees for Caulker, Sandro and Fer and who is paying their wages? Rangers received a £1.5m loan fee for Caulker from Southampton when he joined them on a season-long deal in the summer. So in order to sign him, Liverpool paid the Saints £750,000 and are paying all his wages for the rest of the season. There is no agreement in place for a permanent transfer. Swansea paid a significantly smaller loan fee for Fer and are paying all of his wages. Again there is no agreement to make the deal permanent. Swansea had earlier discussed a potential loan deal for Sandro, who later joined West Brom. Albion are paying the Brazilian’s wages. There was no loan fee paid for that deal but Sandro’s move is set to be made permanent if he plays a certain number of games during his loan spell. Why didn’t Rob Green leave? Rangers wanted to offload Green because of a clause in his contract that means he will land a new deal if he makes five more appearances this season. Crystal Palace indicated they would sign him if they first offloaded former QPR keeper Alex McCarthy to Fulham, but that move didn’t happen. McCarthy staying at Palace meant Green stayed at QPR McCarthy staying at Palace meant Green stayed at QPR Why didn’t Rangers sign anyone else, particularly a striker? The club were generally limited by Financial Fair Play, which has been the overriding factor in their transfer dealings. They made enquiries about several strikers and made a pre-deadline attempt to sign Czech forward Jiri Skalak, who later joined Brighton. Les Ferdinand and Chris Ramsey went to Austria and saw Skalak play in a friendly for FK Mlada Boleslav against Red Bull Salzburg – the Austrian club’s youth academy is well regarded and Ramsey, now QPR technical director, wanted to visit. Rangers had an offer for Skalak rejected. Oxford United midfielder Kemar Roofe was linked with a move but that was never likely. Rangers enquired about him earlier in the window and Oxford wanted £3m. Enquiries were made about a number of left-backs and manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was particularly keen on one in Germany, but nothing materialised. Italian defender Marco Motta had a trial and a short-term deal was discussed, but he has been told he will not get the contract he wanted and there is now no prospect of him being signed. www.westlondonsport.com/features-comment/qprs-transfer-window-the-answers-to-five-important-questions

Thank God Motta didn't get a deal. That would have been just giving money away to a bench warmer.

I want him to play every game, so we get the 7 million we spent on him. I also want Fer to play every game for Swansea so they can see what a hard working invidual he is and they pay the full asking price of 8 million pounds to QPR

And also want Caulker to play every minute of every game for Liverpool , the man is a rock, he is a solid unit, a truely versatile defender, an absolute rock, a must for any top Prem defence, have I said he is a rock. 8 Million Liverpool in May please. On a serious note, I would take 5 million for each of them. See if we can recover 15 of the 22/23 million spent. Then we can buy back Simpson and Charlie

Thank God Motta didn't get a deal. That would have been just giving money away to a bench warmer. Not so sure about that. I think he would have been challenging Perch all the way and it may well have been Perch that dropped to be a substitute. The problem with Motta was his contract demands not ability or fitness.
As it is we are left with no real cover for Perch - who has been known to pick up a few injuries (as well as frequent yellow and red cards) and is consequently unlikely to play every game to the end of the season . So when he is out we have to play Ned out of position shuffle the defence around and weaken the team.
There seems to be a growing tendency on here and other media to call players "bench warmers" in a negative sort of way. The truth of the modern game is that a match day squad is 18 players not 11. We should want to have players on the bench and in the larger squad who can compete for places on the pitch and replace the first choices when they are injured or banned. At present we have at least a couple of positions where we do not have adequate cover - right back being the most obvious so I would prefer to see us sign a so called bench warmer than to have no competition or cover at all.

Chery dont seem to happy?
To his great disappointment Tjaronn Chery saw in the last transfer window ricochet transfer to Israel. The midfielder, who plays a supporting role to Queens Park Rangers, seemed on his way to the Maccabi Tel Aviv Peter Bosz. The Dutch coach was keen to have the playmaker, but a transfer was not to the disappointment of Chery. The former player of FC Groningen at QPR's no basis more and therefore was interested in a transfer to Israel. "Peter Bosz wanted to get me Every player wants to work under Warbler He likes attacking football and let his teams also play like I thought... I leave the club just come out, then we'll continue then see But nothing happened. and I do not know why, "Chery fed up talks with FOX Sports. So he finishes the season with the team of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. "I lie well in the group and I am fine with the coach. I just do not know what he wants with me. I have not talked to him about it yet. I want to play, of course. There will be games and therefore new opportunities. It's okay , I am not worrying." Moreover, the attacking midfielder takes around Sunday's game Groningen SC Cambuur farewell Pride of the North.

I think may need to learn a lesson from Luongo. Both dropped out of the team around the same time and the issue seemed to be their work off the ball and in defence. Luongo has buckled down and by his own admission has benefited from the work that JFH has asked him to do. Consequently he is back in the team and by all reports is becoming the new star. Chery needs to do the same or he will find himself slipping further down the pecking order. It worries me(if the quote is true) that he says he does not know what the coach wants from him but he is not worried. Shades of Adel mentality in that comment.

Cheers Alfa
If Pino is coming nothing will be announced until the window opens. No rush as I think he will only be here as "one for the future" but I could be wrong;

From hereisthecity. Anyone for Gudjohnsen. www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/02/07/jimmy-floyd-hasselbaink-should-bring-free-agent-and-former-strik/?Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink should bring free agent and former strike partner Eidur Gudjohnsen to QPRMathew Nash @hitcmathewnash 17 hours ago The Icelandic international is currently without a club after a stint in China. QPR recently lost Charlie Austin to Southampton and did make moves to replace him. They signed Conor Washington and Abdenasser El Khayati from League Two clubs Peterborough United and Burton Albion but are not otherwise blessed with central forwards - just Sebastian Polter standing out. Perhaps they should consider bringing in a more experienced option on a shirt-term deal - with a former strike partner of current QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink a potentially perfect option. Eidur Gudjohnsen has fallen foul of the ambition in Chinese football to bring in younger players. He has not been offered a new deal with Shijiazhuang Ever Bright and is currently a free agent. He played for Bolton Wanderers last season - scoring six goals in 24 appearances. The 37-year-old, who formed a lethal strike partnership with Hasselbaink at Chelsea, would offer experience up top and coverage in central midfield. With Iceland qualified for the European Championships in France this summer the veteran is desperate for a new club in order to ensure himself of a place in Lars Lagerback's squad. QPR could certainly offer him that opportunity. He would not be a long-term option but for the rest of the season could certainly privide the Championship side with some mercurial class.

From London24 Five London stars who need a Championship loan with the window opening 07:10 09 February 2016 The Football League loan window is now open and Championship clubs will be looking to do business. We have picked five London players who could do with a spell in the second tier between now and the end of the season. Joey O’Brien (West Ham) The West Ham full back is likely to start against Liverpool on Tuesday night in the FA Cup but that may well be his last appearance for a while. With James Tomkins and Sam Byram ahead of him in the pecking order, O’Brien needs game time to get back fit after six months out and also push himself back towards the Ireland squad for the Euros this summer. Ryan Mason (Spurs) Even if it was on loan, Ryan Mason could maybe have looked to get game time away from White Hart Lane. Having struggled with injuries this season, the England man is now coming back to fitness but to get fit he will need to be playing. With Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele, Nabil Bentaleb and Tom Carroll all currently battling for spots in the centre of midfield, Mason has to jump to queue in order to find game time. Chances of going to the Euros this summer look very slim while still at Spurs until the end of the season. Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) The Chelsea academy boy has impressed with cameo displays this season under Guus Hiddink but a regular spot looks unlikely. With numerous options in the Blues squad, Loftus Cheek may want regular football to ensure he continues to improve and catches the eye of Hiddink even if it is in the Championship. Dwight Gayle (Crystal Palace) A baffling tale of a natural goalscorer who just isn’t fancied by his manager who needs a natural goalscoer. Goals have been a real issue for Palace this season but Gayle is either not used or injured and needs to get out of Selhurst Park. It looks as if he is there to stay long term but it will be interesting to see if the striker can convince Pardew he is a better option than Emmanuel Adebayor or favourite Connor Wickham. Alex Iwobi (Arsenal) With Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott battling for a central striking spot, Alex Iwobi may have seen his chance come and go. Appearances in the FA Cup and in the squad for Premier League games, Iwobi has gained experience but now needs to get game time. Having seen the likes of Chuba Akpom and Benik Afobe go out on loan and impress in recent years, Iwobi may jump at Championship chance. Some interesting names there but unless they are loans looking to a permanent deal at the end of the season all we would be doing is giving them game time to get fit at the expense of giving our new players experience and blending them into a team for next season.
We need cover at right back especially but I hope we would be looking for a long term solution being taken on loan for the short term.

Agreed Bringing it players like Gayle and Loftus-Cheek purely to give them game-time would be of no advantage to us at all. We're not fighting relegation and we're not fighting for promotion (both IMHO) so everything should be concentrated on building a team for next season. Right back is definitely a vulnerable area. Hall & Onouha have forged a very good centre back partnership, if Pech is injured, Onouha is pushed out to right back and Angella is brought in to cover at Centre back.

From the BBC www.bbc.com/sport/football/35507599Brandon Comley would 'love' to extend loan spellFrom the section Football Midfielder Brandon Comley would "love" to extend his loan spell with League Two side Carlisle United. The Cumbrians signed the 20-year old on a one-month youth loan from Queens Park Rangers in January, with Comley due to return to his parent club on 20 February. "It'd be a great opportunity for me to stay here and play some games," Comley told BBC Radio Cumbria. "Everyone up here is welcoming so I'd love to stay up here." He continued: "I think what everyone wants is for me to just develop and get better and that's what I want for myself - just to play games and give it my all every day." Comley made his first professional start for Carlisle against Everton in their FA Cup tie last weekend, and is expected to be involved when they play Accrington Stanley on Saturday. "I just wanted to get out there and really make an impression," said the Islington-born midfielder. "That's my goal. I've come here to try and do the best I can for the club."
