I was sure we would lose Willock Dieng and Chair last year, so kind of had it in my head they would go. Would be Nice to keep hold of Chair for another year Nice, but I wonder if his departure is essential for us to stay within FFP. No-one else is going to generate substantial contribution to the cause. The sales we are making (Dickie and Deing - and maybe Willock) could possibly be reinvested in the team if Chair were to be sold. Can you remember when it used to be about watching your team, signing players long-term, and building season by season - and enjoying it as sport. Jim Gregory would spin in his grave. We have the richest owners in the league, and we are scraping around desperately trying to make ends meet. Deep breath........keep the faith! Meanwhile, Lewis Wing and Marc Leonard (loan) todays rumour. the72.co.uk/2023/07/07/qpr-leading-race-to-sign-free-agent-midfielder-as-brighton-man-emerges-as-loan-option/

It’s all very Sad Ricky but we had some great chances of success a few years ago but Tony F was a walking disaster If you put the names of the people we signed in those two years or so , I would probably feel sick. We are still paying for those mistakes now. Giving away 1.5-2 million every year as our fine is not helping, is it 5 more seasons of fine we have or less? I still think we will keep Chair and Willock. Take the Dieng 2 Million, hope we also got a 20% sell on clause out of it. What we really need is Eze to have a blinder , score loads of goals, Palace sell him next summer and we pocket 5-10 million. Its going to take something like this to change our current cycle.

I wonder if Taylor Richards is helping with this? They must have played together?

Good news bad news
Coventry have reached a deal to sell their star striker Viktor Gyokeres for about 20 million.
Good news is that he will not be running rings around our defence next season. Bad news is that Coventry have 20 million in the bank and can now probably afford to out bid us on any signings.
Now if Dykes only had scored 25 goals last season......

Gyokeres was some scorer , still be hard to replace him.

Ryan Manning looks like he is heading to Leeds, a nice suiting that, could only have been topped if he went to Millwall.

Gyokeres was some scorer , still be hard to replace him. They signed Ellis Simms (who?) from Everton as a direct replacement before letting Gyokeres leave. No fee quoted but he scored 7 in 17 games for Sunderland on an expected season long loan last season and 1 back at Everton in 11 games after being recalled by Everton at the end of December. Supposedly big and strong but photos make him look very overweight.

Umm dunno about Godden, seems to be injured hell of a lot Saying that his goal ratio seems pretty good though so maybe just some bad luck.

Probably should have kept him considering Calvert Lewin makes Luke Amos look like the epitome of a healthy player!

Yeap and a goal every 2 games at Sunderland - probably a good 20 goal a season man at Championship level but not thought good enough for the PL. Everton fans did not have to much to rave about last season either Meanwhile while we are now linked with Golden, he had a good partnership with Gyokeres and they fed off each other. Maybe he could do similar with Dykes or maybe his goals would dry up.

Although currently on tour with us in Austria, it seems Balogun is off (rumoured to be Glasgow Rangers). He has tweeted that he is off. Certainly a 'Marmite' signing for QPR

www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/leon-balogun-departs-120723/Departure confirmed. So we paid for him to travel to Austria. He was deemed not fit enough to be on the bench last Saturday, so when Clarke-Salter was injured, we did not have a defender to replace him. But now fit enough to join another club it seems. I think that many who gave him the benefit of the doubt will have turned now. Especially as it seems Gareth was keen to sign him. Gareth said last weekend that we have missed out on several of our targets. Hmmmm.

Gareth said last weekend that we have missed out on several of our targets. Hmmmm. We should have cancelled his seat on emplane and made him work his own way back to where ever he is going. So we have helped him recover during the close season paid for him to go on a vacation without playing and now will probably end up with Beale. What a way to pay us back. Hope he does his hamstring again in his first game and misses the season. I was one who thought he was a good signing under the circumstances and we have helped him out both with a job last season and getting him fit now. If he turned us down for more money rather than us not wanting him it puts his honesty and loyalty at the same level as Beale. So now we are stuffed at CB - maybe convert Kaka to fill the gap but please do not push Field back into a back four.

Someone told me there is a post on Twitter saying we are in negotiation with free agent Britt Assombalonga. Not sure if this is new or true - anyone seen anything?
Puts himself about and has had some good goal scoring seasons in the Championship and some not so good and Warnock dumped him when at Middlesborough - now 30 years old and had some injuries in the past but probably the level we can afford to look at upfront at the moment. Probably not to different to Chris Martin imo.

Glad he took time (not) to thank QPR for spending the summer rehabilitating him from his injury and getting him fit.

Will Keane - from Wigan to Preston.
Good score rate and type of player who would suit Ainsworths plans imo . But apparently a fee was involved so we probably had no chance even if we wanted him

I would hope they have actually signed and just the announcement delayed. Why the media team cannot use the wonders of modern technology to make an announcement and record arrival interviews from Austria is beyond me. Probably wanted to get a photo of Gareth and his new boys together but just announcing signings would be better fan management than the silence.
