We need a manager first. Then a striker or two. a wing back a full back. Sure Im forgetting someone.
Add a new goalkeeper coach who can teach how to avoid challenging the goalposts

Plus a new Midfield Coach, a new defence coach and a new attack coach.

This is my understanding of where we currently are.
Players on loan to us McCallum Hendrick Gray Sanderson Cannot see any of these being with us next season
Players out of contract Barbet โ story is that he, or rather his wife, wants to go back to France but he is being offered a new contract - โConversations are continuingโ Austin โ already announced he is leaving Westwood โ already announced he is leaving Marshall โ already announced he is leaving Adomah โ โConversations are continuingโ Ball โ already announced he is leaving (pity) Wallace โ already announced he is leaving Odubajo โ โConversations are continuingโ (1 year option) Owens โ โConversations are continuingโ โ is he near a 1st team spot? Barnes โ already announced he is leaving Shopido โ โConversations are continuingโ โ why? (1 year option)
Players out on loan coming back De Wijs Masterson โ has he improved? 1 year left on his contract Kelman โ has he improved? Armstrong โ ready to challenge for a place? Bonne โ has he improved? Shopido โ see under โout of contractโ Gubbins โ ready for the 1st team? Drewe โ ready for the 1st team? Duke-McKenna - ready for the 1st team? Alfa - ready for the 1st team?
Players with us and still in contract Deing โ will he be sold? Walsh Mahoney Archer - 1 year left on his contract Kakay Dickie โ will he be sold? Dunne Chair Dozzell Field Thomas Johansen Bettache โ 1st teamer or not? 1 year left on his contract Willock โ 1 year left on his contract Amos - 1 year left on his contract Dykes
Others Niko H โ is he still with us? De Silva โ ready for 1st team? Ramkilde โ does he actually exist?

Sanderson might be kept on. Bonne definitely not good enough for League One, get rid and take the hit! Which will be a big one.

From a business point of view. we have to sell Willock and possibly Amos this Summer. Hopefully, they will sign extended contracts, but if they refuse, their value will start to diminish. Not too confident that we are able to offer the sort of contracts that they deserve, or could command elsewhere. We are not an attractive proposition at the moment. The sooner we recruit a manager, the better. We have left a lot of contractual issues far too late.

Add a new goalkeeper coach who can teach how to avoid challenging the goalposts No, you don't need a manager first before you buy players. That's what a Director of Football does. Managers at most clubs are less and less involved in that process these days. The DoF identifies what players fit the scheme you are trying to run, he buys the players and the head coach then trains them up.

So the manager has to use a system that the players who are bought for him can play? Surely a manager has to say this is the system I want to play, get me the players that fit?

I wonder if he'll go down the same path as Dean Parrott?

Man Utd have just confirmed that Pogba will leave when his contract ends at the end of the month. Beale about to be announced at QPR and will want to sign players. Coincidence? I think not!

Seems like Charlie Austin is open to signing for Reading. His local team. From a Hoop to a fake hoop!

Yeap but they were happy enough to use their Gerrard friendship to get him on loan in January - what goes around comes around. Interesting that reports say PNE are close to agreeing terms with Andre Gray - he must be taking a big hit on his wages but probably not as much as if he joined us. He was our top scorer after all even though he only had limited game time. Good ability but doubts on attitude and commitment.

Excellent news if it goes through!
From The Athletic...
Jake Clarke-Salter has agreed to join Queens Park Rangers and is expected to complete the deal tomorrow, The Athletic understands.
He will have his medical on Wednesday before signing a four-year deal.
Clarke-Salter, who left Chelsea at the end of the season when his contract expired, also had interest from the Premier League, including Bournemouth, as well as Standard Liege, Wolfsburg and Istanbul Basaksehir.
He will be Michael Beale's first signing since taking the job as QPR manager. Beale knows Clarke-Salter from his time as a coach at Chelsea's academy and was thought to be a huge factor in his decision to move to Loftus Road.
It is understood Beale made an impressive presentation to Clarke-Salter and made the difference in his decision to move to the Championship side. He believes Clarke-Salter, who impressed while on loan at Coventry last season, can become one of the best left-sided central defenders in the country.
Former Chelsea captain John Terry was an admirer of Clarke-Salter as the youngster made his way through the ranks at Stamford Bridge, and tipped him to be a future first-team player.
The 24-year-old spent 14 years at Chelsea before his exit this summer, making three first-team appearances.
