McNamara and Parrot seem to be our preferred options but not sure if we will get either?

I like what we have done this window. We have kicked the can down the road to remain within FFP limits, but secured two players without paying a fee and another two on loan fees. Presumably the loan fees paid have discounted the purchase option price. Had they bought the pair outright (even with deferred payments) they would form part of this year's FFP calculation, but by being on loan, we only have to account for the loan fees this year. Presumably, if they get seriously injured we can even send them home as well. I think that the striker will be a loan - we would be lucky to get a purchase option on anyone decent. We seem to have our hearts set on McNamara and if Millwall will not release, we may well wait for January or next June for him - if he does not sign a new contract having bluffed us. If we are prepared to wait, I think any right back loan may be quite short term.

Got a feeling it will be a RB and that's it.
I think Prem teams are going to be asking too much for the few loan strikers available.
Premier league teams are essentially asking Championship teams to pay them to play their players, which will only be viable for the big spenders in this division.
We may actually already have our answer, in the shape of a raw 19 year old striker who seems to have no fear and looks like he just wants to get in the box and make things happen.

Make of that what you want? McNamara still not signing the Millwall deal , so maybe he does want to come us at right price or his agent playing silly billies.

Rowett latest on McNamara situation last night, he did play for the team that lost to Cambridge.
“It’s very very simple where we are,” the Millwall boss said.
“I would really like Danny to sign a new contract and settle down. Obviously it’s not a particularly great situation for him to be in, but I can’t decide what happens next.
“I’ve got no problem with Danny. He’s a great lad, I really want him to stay at the football club. But sometimes situations happen that make it difficult.
“What I’ve got to do at that point is to do the right thing for the team and make sure that I pick a team that’s fully focussed.
“I’m not saying Danny isn’t, but he’s in a situation where we would like him to sign a new deal.”

I think, thankfully, that the club are moving on from McNamara now.
It's clear that Millwall don't want to sell him so instead of wasting any more time just get either a decent free agent RB like Nathan Byrnes or try and loan out Dujon Sterling.
It may come back to bite 'Wall who could lose him for nothing next summer (it's unlikely we'd have a shot at him once he becomes a free agent) but that's their problem now. We need to just let go and move on.

Ethan Laird - Why it brings McCallum in my mind... Young, claimed to be talented, but the evidence is that he has had few loan stints but never at the same club again...

Maybe Sir Les doesn't want to fork out a goal bonus to a striker that scores plenty. Dykes must be saving them heaps of money and Bonne.

I must have read 200 messages about this guy in the last 1/2 hours , all Rangers fans and everything good about him as a player and person. I’m fine with this signing, the only bad thing about it was , it wasn’t a bloody Forward.

I’m not familiar with Balogan but his stats don’t make for good reading. Never been an ever present for any club until he reached rangers. Most of the time got only a handful of games. He’s barely played more games than Jimmy Dunne despite being 10 years older. He may be a great presence and a leader but you cannot do much leading from the bench. He only played a handful of games for Wigan at championship level. I think he’s in as a backup CB in a 4 or he’s in so we can play 3 at the back because Beale doesn’t think Dunne and Dickie are good enough against direct opposition. I’d be surprised if he plays that much in back 4.

Emmanuel Longelo (West Ham left back) is currently training with QPR. He nearly joined Forest in January and is thought to be leaving West Ham this window. Source: Twitter - so who knows if true.

Probably Twitter rubbish, bur some noise about Dickie to Leicester interest. I would not say Dickie has been at his best so far this season so I doubt there is any truth in this - but if Leicester want him we should make they bid high as I understand we would have a big pay-out to Oxford for a sell on..

Beale still talking about more players to come in but the issue I see now is that we need to move others out to balance the books and people like Nico and Thomas who would be likely departures have just picked up injuries - co-incidence or bad luck?
Does the loan window extend past the transfer window as in some previous years? - not been able to track that down exactly.
