I am sorry to have to say this, but Joey's latest comments have made his stay at Loftus Rd untenable.
I was one of the first on this board to suggest that we should sign Joey, but I think we can no longer afford to keep him. His footballing ability is clear to me, even though he hasn't performed to his level so far, but Joey is a controversial character and he has misjudged the NW situation. The crowd had to warm to him initially but I think that after these comments 99% of the QPR fans won't be behind him anymore.
It hurts me to say, but I for one don't feel I can actually cheer for our Captain after what he said about NW. NW brought us up from the depths of the Championship. He brought this football club what no other manager had been able to bring in the last 15 years: hope. For that only he deserves the respect of the QPR fans. Whether or not he got it right or wrong tactically in the PL is of lesser importance. Given what NW did for the club, the QPR fans owe him lots of respect. What Joey did this week is disgraceful. Let's sell him.

I think we might find it difficult to find someone who wants him...We'd probably have to subsidize his wages...Pay him off substantially... I want him gone but he hasnt exactly enhanced his value to others since he joined us. (And that's not re his latest Warnock tweets)

I just hope the crowd don't get on his back whatever their views because there are much bigger things at stake than a petty school boy squabble between barton and NW. Not excusing what either of them said, I wish they'd both shut up, NW had no need to be critising the players and club weeks later, and barton had no need to react like that. But for today just get behind the boys , all 11 of them, if you are going to the game. We HAVE to win today.

Get real!
Barton is a winner and our captain, he has more premier league experience than NW has through out his whole career. It was not that long ago threads were being put on here that KC would turn up at training smelling of booze and inept NW was when it came to in game tactics and know because our captain is voicing his views some of you are calling for his head. Phhhh hypocrites
Barton will be the difference today I am confident of this and then let's see how many posts/threads there are on how Barton was inspirational.
QPR fans are unbelievable at times.

Booing is not the solution, I agree, but this will happen. And that's why Joey's situation is untenable. He lost the crowd. Has got to go.

I think you're missing the point here. We know that Warnock probably wasn't good enough for this league but that doesn't excuse our supposed captain mouthing off and basically attacking a QPR legend when he should be focusing on the game. He is the biggest disgrace of a captain I've ever seen and it's all because he couldn't keep his mouth shut. He's been crap for us anyway, I would say every 1 out 5 games he's been great.

OR we can be the bigger man/men/women/children and just get behind the CLUB today as we have to win. NW shouldn't be still harping on about things, Joey shouldnt have disrespected NW, I imagine everyone in the crowd today will have said something nasty about a player or manager at some point! Lets just accept they are both overopinionated and both say things they shouldn't, but that takes nothing away from NW being a great manager last year, and barton (supposedly) being a great player.

If we go down and if his performances didn't improve I'd agree...if however he now goes and successfully captains us to premiership survival by being a real leader on the pitch, leading by example and playing as enthusiastically as his off the pitch antics, i think his twitterings will be forgotten about. Its not really THAT big a deal is it. We all slag off players and managers and each other and our friends ...or is that just me ;D ;D

Sell him? Blimey! Newcastle only just managed to give him away. Who'd want him.
Just hope he performs, that much he has to do, for his own reputution, which is now on the line. Inside and outside the club.
We've got to support the team, all of them, not single anyone out, booing is simply conterproductive. Look what Blackburn have done since the "out" brigade took their campaign away from the pitch. Gotta support every bleedin one of them!!!!
Sort out a team, stay up preferably, then let Hughes sort out who he wants and doesn't.

Barton is here on a lottery paycheck only because of Warnock. If he doesn't like Warnock's "championship" style, why the hell did he come here in the first place?
Imagine you're Joey's teammate... He's poisoning the dressing room, destabilising the atmosphere. And THAT'S the main reason why he should leave.

I think what some people are over-looking here is that Hughes is not NW. I would imagine that Hughes will not tolerate a Joey Barton that NW got. Hughes is seen by many throughout football as more successful than NW , hence that is why Hughes has managed at the highest levels only. So Barton will give more to a manager of his stature than that of NW. Unfortunately for NW he did lose the respect of some of his players hence our performances over the past months, now is the time for Barton to lead and Hughes to manage. These two are winners and they need to lead by example and push the others on.

He is not QPR captain, because he doesn't act like one. Winner? Did he win us the Norwich game? Or Newcastle? Anything? It's not about Keith Curle being drunk or Warnock being championship level. It's a about pride and respect. And Barton is a turd who has no respect for the club, its history, fans and shirt.

We don't need to sell Barton.
We need to get behind the entire team and give them the support for them to build their push away from the relegation zone.
He's not here to make us happy off the pitch and so far he's struggled to make us happy on the pitch so having a go at him is not what's best for the club.
He's entitled to his opinions and I don't have to like him, but when he wears the shirt he has, like all the others, my full support.
Get behind him and give him the foundation to build his game on by supporting the git, not by castigating him.
Off the pitch I ignore him, on it I support him. Simple as that.
The team needs to raise it's game and the supporters should lead the way as it's our club and those are our players.
COME ON YOU R's!

And though you pretend to stand by us, I know your certain we'll fail." AM My post: @audriusau Audrius Darguzis @joey7barton "You talk the talk alright. But do you walk the walk or catch the train?"--AM. Remeber how 2 use your feet, not mouth/fingers. Get ready for the game, you fool, and stop texting.

I defended ths guy not so long ago and felt he deserved a chance but right now if I felt we could rid of him then I would insist that the club do it post haste. However I doubt anybody else would be desperate enough to take him away from us - not after what they have seen what they need to see about our so called club captain.
So I guess we are stuck with him but let me say one thing - if he doesn't perform today (or is perceived by the fans to have not performed) and we lose this must win game, then the fans will take it out on him at every opportunity from now until he finally does go.

At the end of the day yes he came to qpr and maybe no-one else wanted him but NW bought him knowing what he is like. todays game showed how he can play and hold his temper. whatever people think about joey he is class simple as that he has been in the top flight too long not to be. he joined and after a short time realised what a joke the training, tactics and fitness training was and thought this is a joke and gave up before he even started. it is clear to see look at todays performance, tactics, confidence and clear sign of stamina in all the players, even mackie did not look so shattered after 70 minutes as usual. clear signs that professional training is taking place. Oh and also buz is actually getting a look in now instead of the old managers favourites. What a difference a premiere manager makes.

When we got Barton I knew that he would be trouble. I live and work in Liverpool and know what antics he gets up to outside of the media from just talking in the pubs. Unfortunately we are stuck with him until the end of the season because there is no doubt in my mind that Hughes would get rid of him but it is not in our interest to get rid now. He was very lucky not to get two yellow cards today. Luke Young took the card instead. That said as long as he wears my clubs shirt I will support him on the pitch.
