I'm a relative newcomer with only 35 years under my belt, having first seen the Rs in Feb 77 at Highbury (we lost 3-0 to Villa in Leage Cup semi, but seeing Gerry Francis live got me hooked).
PS: hows that spoof Ch*lsea song go? something along the lines of " Stuff you, whoever you may be, we are the famous CFC, so please sit down, so my wife can see, i've been supporting Chels*a since 2003..'

1967
My Grandad took me and we used to stand at the school end. Scarf , hat and rattle in hand. The next season we went into the Stands and once SAR was built we moved stands.

First game as a little lad was an FA Cup tie away at Charlton in the early 70s. My dad wasn't really into football, and this was the one and only game he ever took me to. We were 0-2 down at half time and dad said (very unconvincingly) "Plenty of time to catch up..." We won 2-3

I started about 1963ish when we played at White City Stadium. I remember us playing Hinckley in the FA Cup and just winning 3-2. The first couple of games I saw we lost but that did not deter me and I have suffered ever since! But I Would not change it. That win 6 weeks 2 days ago was such a just reward for all the not so good times. U R'sssssssssssssssss

The thread that got me to sign on to the message board is back!
Apart from Bushman (as he is a given) who else has been at every game when we have gained promotion to the top division? I missed out on the honour in '48 & '67 from the third tier, but I expect someone has the full set of promotions on their record!

Not as long as you old-timers ....since 1976 for me...after the great season that we almost...won the league...haven't looked back since...even though both of my brothers have been Man U fans since the 1970's...I've lived in Canada since 1981, so as you can imagine for the first 20 years most people had never even heard of QPR..still stood strong though...back in the 1980's we had this repeat Football program called Soccer Saturday...it used to show highlights of games around the world from the week before... ....luckily I was able to view the 1982 FA cup final live...

I was baptised during the 66/67 season at a match at home to Millwall. I think we played them twice that season, one being in the cup. Don't recall which one I went to, or the score but do remember a fight in the loft which I saw from the South Africa Road mound. I was at Wembley for the League Cup and later became a steward for a number of years during the 80s and 90s. Some great memories of some great games, the combination of Bowles and Francis just eclipsing the spectacle of Rodnee.

Millwall were playing in the 2nd Div having won promotion in 65-66 season.

Great subject this, i´ve been supporting since 1966, remember me and my mates bunking off school to and see the rs at reading, mid week match, also last match of that season at wallsall, also great memories of us at ipswich and villa literally thousands of us at villa to gain promotion, the semis of the lge cup v birmingham and wembley v wba and the spuds, (i will not mention the other time when we got slaughtered) all magic moments, including the times i cycled from swiss cottage to the bush in driving rain, i then left home and moved to harrow road to be much nearer to chuch! l left England in 1994 not been back since, but always watch them via streaming. i broke down in tears when we beat derby, and all the memories started to fow back. Looking forward to see us v hull in couple of weeks time, and here´s hoping for a decent season think we will end up mid league at the end of the season, Urssssssssss
