i like young he is just what we need, good prem know how, and with swp maybe on the way, another two defenders, i think the squad would then look pretty decent, another striker on loan would do us as well, when that rebound of the post went to aggy a striker with some composore would have put that away.

EXCLUSIVE: Spurs tell Parker he must take pay cut Published 22:59 27/08/11 By Paul Smith . Scott Parker’s move to Tottenham is hanging in the balance unless he agrees to take a pay-cut. Premier League rivals Stoke and QPR have made bids for Parker but the Loftus Road club are the only ones who will match the England midfielder’s £70,000-a-week Upton Park salary. A highly-placed source at West Ham said: “The deal is probably 50-50. It’s not a particularly good offer for the club from Tottenham and as yet no deal has been agreed. “Scott has set his heart on going to them but unless he is prepared to take a pay cut and they improve their offer, it’s not going to happen.” A deal for the England star looked dead when Spurs boss Harry Redknapp claimed it did not make economic sense to pay millions for a 30-year-old with no resale value. The Hammers insist they will not accept anything less than £8.5m to sell him or a £4m fee to allow him to go out on a season-long loan deal. Four clubs – Spurs, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal – all enquired about him but were put off by the costs. Spurs finally opened talks with West Ham on Thursday but the negotiations have hit the usual stumbling blocks of the fee and wages. Tottenham are expected to trim their squad by farming out a number of fringe players on subsidised loan deals. They include Jermaine Jenas, David Bentley, Sebastian Bassong and Scotland full-back Alan Hutton. I don't think we're even after Parker any more. Warnock said Barton was our first choice over Parker so we won't be going for both.

Hulse can go.
I don't really want Parker or crouch. Doesn't make economical sense for us.

Barton drops Black Cats hint Midfielder "would have been lynched" had he taken up certain offers Last Updated: August 28, 2011 10:45am
Joey Barton has hinted that Sunderland made an approach to sign him before his decision to join Queens Park Rangers.
Barton completed his free transfer to Loftus Road on Friday after a bitter end to an otherwise successful spell at Newcastle United.
Barton's last game for the Magpies was a 1-0 success over bitter rivals Sunderland, and the combative midfielder suggests the Black Cats were one of the many clubs queuing up for his signature.
"There were other clubs interested in me but it would not be prudent to name names as I am not going to air everybody's dirty laundry," Barton told The People.
"Some of them I could do and some I could not. If I had gone there I would probably have been lynched."

So it's down to: Shaun Wright-Phillips, Onuoha. Crouch, Parker, Traore.
If we're dealing with Manchester City, might as well as get them both over at the same time. Same Man City time and bother!

MIRROR Future bright despite defeat says QPR boss Warnock Neil Warnock insists the signings of Joey Barton and Luke Young are just the start of a QPR revolution under new owner Tony Fernandes. Barton watched from the directors' box at the DW Stadium yesterday lunchtime as his new club were beaten by two Franco Di Santo goals for Wigan. And with Young's arrival from Aston Villa also confirmed, Warnock hailed the impact of Fernandes and said he expected up to four more new faces before deadline day. Warnock said: "It's really exciting to know we're going to supplement our squad with five or six new players because we're going to need them."I've been speaking to him (Fernandes) most evenings and he's just been fantastic. I've never had that sort of support anywhere. I've come up with the names and he's said 'go for it'." Although Warnock refused to reveal any of his imminent targets, Manchester City's Shaun Wright-Phillips is believed to be high on the Loftus Road wanted list. Warnock felt his side were hard done by against Roberto Martinez's Latics, who triumphed thanks to two fine if slightly deflected finishes by Di Santo. Adel Taarabt thundered two shots against the post in a bright and exciting game for which the major difference was the home side's returning Colombian Hugo Rodallega. Starting his first Barclays Premier League match of the season since his return from the Copa America, Rodallega was at the centre of almost everything his attacking side produced. Martinez said: "Hugo's got an experience and an arrogance and he knows he can score goals. He's really sharp and his experience and know-how is important on and off the pitch." Like Warnock, Martinez is also working on the addition of a handful of new faces while remaining "100%" certain no further players will leave the DW Stadium. Martinez added: "When we lost Tom (Cleverly) and Charles (N'Zogbia) we wanted to find replacements and we worked really hard to bring those two or three in. "I have a very clear idea of who I want to bring in. It is not just their football talent, it is their character and personality. But I won't just bring players for the sake of it." Martinez was delighted with the way his side set about their visitors from the start, with Rodallega setting up Jordi Gomez to fire over the bar, then himself firing across goal. In hailing his own side's commitment afterwards, Warnock suggested that had Taarabt found the net instead of the post on 14 minutes the result might have been different. Patrick Agyemang fluffed the rebound and Rangers' best chance to take the lead went begging, with Di Santo slamming home his rising right-footed opener five minutes before the break. Taarabt struck the post again in first-half injury-time with a long range free-kick, and after Gomez and Di Santo both came close, the Argentinian grabbed his second on 66. Finding space on the edge of the box, Di Santo turned and hit a looping effort which took a fortunate deflection off Bruno Perone and dropped beyond Paddy Kenny. The visitors refused to give up on the afternoon and came close when Perone connected with a Taarabt corner in the 75th minute to bring a fine save out of Ali Al Habsi. Warnock added: "As far as how we've coped so far, we've got nothing to be afraid of. If you create as many chances as we did today, that's all you can do." www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Future-bright-despite-defeat-says-QPR-boss-Neil-Warnock-article792193.html#ixzz1WKJMvqCz

We didnt need him once we got Barton . Expect Andros Townsend or similar goes to them on loan for a year.
. Parker closes on Spurs move Midfielder left out of Forest clash August 28, 2011 2:25pm
Tottenham are poised to wrap up the signing of England midfielder Scott Parker from West Ham.
The 30-year-old was not included in the West Ham squad which travelled to Nottingham Forest as the deal, believed to be worth £6million, neared a conclusion.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce expects the move to be finalised in the next 24 hours feeling Parker was not mentally right to play against Forest.
"There are some negotiations going on and I don't think he would be mentally right to play," Allardyce told Sky Sports HD 1.
"It will come to fruition in the next 24 hours or so."
Tottenham are expected to include a loan deal for one of their youngsters in the package.
Parker has been linked with a transfer ever since the Hammers suffered relegation last season and it seems Spurs are set to win the race for his signature.

Walker should really be playing for Spurs on a regular basis now rather than Corluka. Think tomorrow could be exciting if SWP signs , but not sure if it will be put on the offy until Tuesday ?

QPR eyeing swoop for Celtic striker By Mark Lightbourne, on 28th August 2011, 20:55 UTC
Queens Park Rangers are casting covetous glances towards Celtic's Gary Hooper as they seek to further strengthen their squad ahead of the transfer dealine.
The club's takeover by Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes has already brought about some big changes that have been well-received by supporters. Season ticket prices have been reduced with those who have already purchased them being given a refund while a new price structure for other tickets has been implemented with those under eight years old being allowed into Loftus Road for free. There has also been a statement of ambition with the signing of Joey Barton from Newcastle United on a four-year contract.
The signings are set to continue with Neil Warnock wanting up to five more players by Wednesday's 11pm deadline with Hooper emerging as a target. The Englishman has made his name north of the border after a sensational debut campaign with the Bhoys. The 23-year-old was the team's top scorer in the SPL last season with 20 and has already scored on 3 occasions this time term.
While QPR managed a 1-0 win at Everton in the second of their three Premier League matches, the lack of a cutting edge has been a key factor behind their losses to Bolton and Wigan. Hooper is valued at £6m by Celtic.
