Could still be 4-5 more ! Neil Warnock has promised the Queens Park Rangers faithful that there will be further arrivals at Loftus Road. The Rangers boss completed his latest piece of business on Friday as Joey Barton arrived on a four-year deal from Newcastle. It has been revealed that the Premier League new boys are already chasing a number of other targets, with talks opened with Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and Aston Villa defender Luke Young. Warnock admits he is working hard to get fresh faces on board, with the arrival of Tony Fernandes as the club's new owner giving him a new lease of life in the transfer market. "I have prioritised players I want to bring in and where we need to improve," he said. "We're trying to get the targets that we want in the areas that we want. Difficult "That's obviously not going to happen before the weekend but I am sure with the options that we have got in the different positions we will bring in four or five before Wednesday night." He added: "There will be signings. I am working very, very hard. "Thankfully the family are away. Last night it was one o'clock in the morning speaking to agents and other people. "It is a difficult job. It is all right when you've got money but it is still difficult to get the right players into your squad in such a short space of time. " There is never a straightforward transfer and I have got to do five or six. "It is very difficult trying to do in seven or eight days what we should have done over 12 weeks."

Neil Warnock can thank the previous owners for his last sentence. Fernandes is certainly not shy of making a decision and credit to Amit and Mr Mittal, they're happy to go with them.

QPR land Joey Barton – and target Shaun Wright-Phillips QPR last night landed Joey Barton — and then targeted Shaun Wright-Phillips. Barton signed a four-year deal after his switch from Newcastle and now Hoops plan weekend talks with Manchester City winger Wright-Phillips.
Rangers also hope to land Aston Villa defender Luke Young in a triple swoop for three ex-England stars.
The transfers come within days of owner Tony Fernandes taking over.
Barton completed his free transfer and £80,000-a-week deal after failing to prise a new contract at Newcastle.
And he took a swipe at the Toon board last night with a series of tweets.
He tweeted: "I will always have a special relationship with the Geordie nation but sadly they are not the decision makers at St James' Park.
"I am incredibly excited to be joining QPR at this pivotal time in their history and plan to give my all for the club."
Wright-Phillips, 29, is also being chased by Bolton and Wigan and there is interest from abroad.
His agent Wayne Lindsay said: "There have been three bids accepted, one from QPR, and at some point Shaun will be speaking to all those clubs."
Young, 31, has started both Villa's opening league games but the ex-Charlton man is happy at the prospect of a return to London.
QPR boss Neil Warnock is looking forward to working with bad-boy Barton.
Warnock said: "The thing about Joey is that he's like Neil Warnock — you know you're going to have moments with him.
"I'm sure there'll be people that think it's a marriage made in hell.
"Joey Barton without a doubt should be playing for Arsenal, Tottenham — you name it. He's got that to carry — knowing that he should be at a top club and an England player."

EXCLUSIVE: YOUNG PENS DEAL Posted on: Sat 27 Aug 2011 Neil Warnock has swiftly followed up the capture of Joey Barton with the signing of Luke Young from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee. The experienced England international defender has penned a three-year deal at Loftus Road. In an exclusive interview with www.qpr.co.uk, Young - who has featured in Villa's opening two fixtures of the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League campaign - revealed how excited he is about the challenge and returning to his London roots. Article continues Advertisement "I am ready for a new challenge," he said. "There are big things that are going to happen at this Football Club and I am really pleased to be a part of it. "Myself and Joey signing here shows the intent of the Club. "I am really looking forward to getting started and pulling on the blue and white shirt." Warnock believes the former Tottenham Hotspur defender's versatility will be key over the course of the season. "I've been looking for a defender with vast Premier League experience for a while now and Luke certainly fits the bill," Warnock told www.qpr.co.uk. "He can play anywhere across the back four and that versatility will stand us in really good stead. "Moving back home to London will also serve him well and I'm really looking forward to seeing him in action for us - he's got so much to give and his experience will be vital." Young will wear the number 18 shirt.

not to keen on young myself. very avarge player, would have prefered onough but it looks that wont be happening ofter this capture.
luke young, defencive minded, ok at tackleing, not much pace, rarely crosses over into the halfway line.
onough would have been my dream signing in that position.

Its Onouha by the way Hitman.
Young is a very good defender, he played in the first team for Villa so he can't be that bad.

I'm still adamant we should be going for Marvin Emnes. He just scored another goal for borough. That's his 7th of the season so far.

If it was a choice between getting Jenas or getting one more striker i would punt for another Striker. After SWP i think our midfield is good enough , need two more defenders in next week and Crouch !

Deal agreed .20110827. Warnock winning SWP race Wright-Phillips closing on Loftus Road switch Last Updated: August 27, 2011 1:48pm Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are leading the chase for Shaun Wright-Phillips, with a deal having been agreed. The winger has slipped down the pecking order at Manchester City and is looking to find regular football away from Eastlands. Unsurprisingly, a number of clubs have shown an interest in the England international. Sky Sports sources reported on Friday that the race for his signature was hotting up, with QPR and Stoke having tabled bids. It is now believed that Neil Warnock's side have edged in front of the Potters, with productive transfer talks having been held. It is understood that an agreement has been reached, with Wright-Phillips prepared to link up with the Premier League new boys. Should he sign, he will be reunited with former City team-mate Joey Barton at Loftus Road, with the midfielder having penned a four-year contract with QPR on Friday
