What a 8 days we have had , the buyout last Thurs and this , the ticket seasons and we still have a few more days of it. Look i will never forget about the FA fine saga and i will never forget about the parade , but this is going a long way to repairing some damage.

who has seen the interview with barton on qpr player?
he let slip when asked why he joined us, he said the ambition of the club and the signings we have secured, he corrected himself straight after and said 'i mean the players we are linked with in the press'
i reckon we have another two for the morning to be announced, but which two, or any?

Perhaps Young and Wright Phillips

I still think we may have a surprise signing happen. Might be Onouha or even Dann (probably being a bit hopeful there). Definitely need more in defense but I have total confidence in the manager and board (Christ! that sounds a strange thing to say).

Young and Traore, the latter being a loan. SWP is apparently in talks with 3 clubs including us so I wouldn't expect that to be sorted out tomorrow morning.

I know I'm a bit late on the prediction side, but I would like to add my opinion too! Can't compete with Auburn but here goes. Might start with the Bart-man, follow it up with Young and SWP and finish up with Traore and, I don't know Scott Dann. Just thought I'd throw that one in there.

If we got Scott Dann , you win the competition fullstop !

you think we'll get a lot of followers H? players i mean. is barton every players cup of tea? or will they think twice? Luke young will sign tomorrow Maude. Traore on loan Mon , Tue , Weds. Then i think onuaha will go elsewhere shame , but we will get Ridgewell. SWP - 50/50 will be us or Bolton , wont go to Wigan. I Think any footballer will no Barton has some baggage but at the end of the day every footballer knows deep down like we do that he a bl--dy great footballer . If you asked 10 Geordies keep or let go , 9/10 would say keep and every one of them thought he was their player of the season. well thats the way i hope , 3 moredefenders in to go with Gabbidon and of course Perone , but i dont think we would have bought Perone if that investment came in earlier ?

| Barton's baggage is the only reason I've signed him - Warnock Published 23:01 26/08/11 By Neil McLeman Neil Warnock admits Joey Barton arrives at QPR with “baggage” - but says that is the only reason he has been able to sign him. The controversial midfielder signed from Newcastle on Friday, with Warnock promising to get the best out of a “complicated character” he claims should be playing for England. Barton has signed a four-year £60,000 a week deal, funded by new Rangers owner Tony Fernandes, and is the first of what Warnock hopes will be five new faces at Loftuis Road. Barton could make his QPR debut AGAINST Newcastle Newcastle handed the 28-year-old a free transfer after becoming exasparated by his criticisms of the club. Warnock, who sees a lot of himself in the player, says: “You will never lose that baggage. But if he didn’t have that baggage, there would be no way that Neil Warnock would even get the opportunity to sign him at QPR. “Joey Barton, without a shadow of a doubt, should be playing at Arsenal, Tottenham, you name it... He should be at one of the top clubs. He has got that to carry, really. “He has got to live with that, knowing he really should be an England player, in my eyes. I have thought that for many years but you have got to conform to be an England player. And he has fallen short a little bit at times.” Warnock added: “The thing about Joey is it is like talking about Neil Warnock as a manager - you know you are going to have moments with him. “I think myself and Joey will always say, ‘We are not innocent, we have brought a lot on ourselves’, but I still think as you get older, you get more experienced and you learn a lot. “He has got a lot of attributes. Yes, he is a complicated character but I think he is far more intelligent than people give him credit for. “For me, I have to look at the pluses more than the minuses. It is the same as [QPR playmaker] Adel Taarabt. It would do your head in if you looked at all the minuses. “We will be asking Joey to conform in certain things, but I wouldn’t want to take [away] what he has got because I think that is Joey and I think you will lose certain parts if you ask him to be too restricted. “I know there will be moments, but there are with every player. If you look at talented players, there is nothing straightforward with any of them really. Joey probably shows it more on the field than others. But as with Taarabt, former journeyman pro Warnock admitted he enjoyed the challenge of bringing the best out of exasperatingly talented player. “Only because when people tell me I can’t do it, it does make you want to do it,” he said. “And I am sure certain people will see it like when Simon Jordan and I sat at the top table [at Crystal Palace] and it was called ‘the marriage made in hell’. “People always surprise you. I have always judged people on how I find them. "Yes, he [Barton] would love to stay at Newcastle. That is not an issue - everybody knows that. It is a fantastic club. But London is a super place and I think it is an exciting time at the club. “He will get the freedom and we will get the drive, because he is a natural captain whether he has got an armband or not. I think he will do well for us. "Now I can look to bring in the players who will justify Joey coming in in the first place.” Barton said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining QPR at this pivotal time in their history and plan to give my all for the club.” Newcastle managing director Derek Llambias, the target of many of Barton’s barbed comments, said: “On behalf of everyone at Newcastle United, we wish to thank Joey for his on-field contributions to the team, and we wish him every success for his future at Queens Park Rangers.” QPR are also set to sign Aston Villa right-back Luke Young in a £2million deal Read more: www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/QPR-were-only-able-to-sign-Joey-Barton-because-of-his-considerable-baggage-says-Neil-Warnock-article791459.html#ixzz1WAwongxa Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here
