This one would make my transfer window , should have got him a year or more ago for peanuts. Rubbish source but if it happens great ! QPR eyeing swoop for Celtic striker By Mark Lightbourne, on 28th August 2011, 20:55 UTC Queens Park Rangers are casting covetous glances towards Celtic's Gary Hooper as they seek to further strengthen their squad ahead of the transfer dealine. The club's takeover by Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes has already brought about some big changes that have been well-received by supporters. Season ticket prices have been reduced with those who have already purchased them being given a refund while a new price structure for other tickets has been implemented with those under eight years old being allowed into Loftus Road for free. There has also been a statement of ambition with the signing of Joey Barton from Newcastle United on a four-year contract. The signings are set to continue with Neil Warnock wanting up to five more players by Wednesday's 11pm deadline with Hooper emerging as a target. The Englishman has made his name north of the border after a sensational debut campaign with the Bhoys. The 23-year-old was the team's top scorer in the SPL last season with 20 and has already scored on 3 occasions this time term. While QPR managed a 1-0 win at Everton in the second of their three Premier League matches, the lack of a cutting edge has been a key factor behind their losses to Bolton and Wigan. Hooper is valued at £6m by Celtic. not for bloody £6m

if Pellicori couldn't score 20 goals in the SPL, no one could. A sad league of two teams and cannon fodder.

Streight swap Hulse for Hooper.

The SPL is equivalent to our championship I think , but a straight swap with Hulse would do no harm.

The SPL is equivalent to our championship I think , but a straight swap with Hulse would do no harm. But why would Celtic do that deal? Hulse is older, scores less often etc etc....Celtic will want the kind of money that we need to spend on defenders.

I would say Celtic and Rangers are equivalent to to top Championship sides and the rest mediocre League 1 teams. It always makes me laugh when you hear Celtic and Rangers fans saying they should be allowed to play in the Prem, they couldn't even make it into that league.

We would have to give some Cash aswell as Hulse . Hooper was valued at close to 2 million when Celtic bought him . Yes the Scottish Prem is weak but he has gone their and scored goals from the off , some others havnt done this. He has scored goals for Scunny every season he was with them even though they were the weakest team in the Division . 10-11 Celtic 30 Appearances 23 goals. 09-10 Scunny Championship ,Goals league 19, cup 1 total =20 + assists 6 08-09 Scunny League 1 , Goals league 24 , cup 6 total= 30 + assists 8 He went on loan to Hereford for 19 games and scored 11 goals. He started at Grays 20 goals in 69 appearances.
He basically has scored wherever he has been even when at low end of table Teams, still only 23 and scored 101 proffesional goals.

We don't need him. With the right supply Bothroyd and DJ will score. Adel will also score along with SWP and Barton who will chop in with a few. Would be better of strengthening the defence.

With Tom on this , I think Hooper is the real deal and not surprised about 5-6 mil being banded about ! Would be hoop legend in the making. Mate of mine said who supports Celtic that he knows he'll be going to another club in a big money mov but just enjoying him whilst they have got him.

Stoke couldnt get Crouch then Stoke all set to land midfielder - and plan to buy again Published 22:57 29/08/11 By Football Spy . Stoke boss Tony Pulis is set to finally secure a £7million deal for Wilson Palacios and revive his bid to sign Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome. Pulis will officially complete his swoop for Tottenham midfielder Palacios on Tuesday, when the Honduras international receives a work permit. Palacios, 27, will agree a four-year deal with the Potters and become Stoke's third signing of the summer. Busy Pulis is ready to step up a £3.75m move for Jerome, after failing to persuade Spurs striker Peter Crouch to move to the Britannia Stadium. And there's always Parker TELEGRAPH/Jason Burt Scott Parker's move from West Ham to Tottenham hangs in the balance Scott Parker’s move from West Ham United remained in the balance last night with Tottenham Hotspur believed to have changed the terms of the proposed transfer. One well-placed source close to the deal rated the chances of the midfielder moving to Tottenham as still no more than “50/50” despite the transfer window closing tomorrow night. Parker is on international duty with England and manager Fabio Capello will not be pleased at the 30 year-old’s future still being unresolved as he prepares for two crucial Euro 2012 qualifiers. Parker is due to fly to Bulgaria on Thursday morning with the rest of the squad. It still seems likely that he will join Spurs – Parker has made it clear he does not want to stay at West Ham while the club are in the Championship – but there was a hitch on Sunday evening. West Ham have been demanding £8 million for Parker all summer and there has been interest from Chelsea and Aston Villa as well as Spurs but no club have met the asking price. West Ham were willing to finally negotiate over the fee with Spurs having offered a deal close to £6 million with a player also going to Upton Park on loan for the season. That player was thought to be one of Spurs’ promising youngsters, most probably midfielder Jake Livermore. However it now appears that Spurs want to send a different player on loan to West Ham, or simply do a straight cash deal while there has also been a wrangle over Parker’s wages. He earns around £65,000 a week. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has also not given up hope of acquiring Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra but the hitch over his wages — the French international earns 5 million euros a year net of tax — has still not been sorted out. Wilson Palacios has undergone a medical at Stoke City ahead of his £6 million move. www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/8729856/Scott-Parkers-move-from-West-Ham-to-Tottenham-hangs-in-the-balance.html
