Come on guys, I'm normally the one with the glass half full!
OK we haven't seen the details, but this is potentially a great deal.
Nike is an iconic brand, plus it's American so perhaps the sizing will be a little more generous!
It's another move away from the brands of the Italian stallion........ and for that I'm supportive.

The more I read our posts, the more worried I become about the future of the Club. I am one of the fans that is generational. I came with my father in the late 60's. My son, now 26 has been coming for 21 years.
My new 3 month old granddaughter will follow in time..........I hope.

It's not Zamora's fault we agreed to his contract.
Its the CEO that agreed to his contract in the first place...... the ever so PR spin-able, loveable...

Given the size of the debt and the potential fine to the Club if we don't get promotion, I have to change my opinion.
I am watching games with disbelief this season at supposedly great names on huge salaries do nothing more than very, very average Championship players. I have not seen many 'manager eureka' moments when the state of a game has been changed by the tactical genius of the manager.
I have been bored with the football and felt a change of manager now we cannot be relegated and to build for the future seemed, until the release of the figures, to be what was best for QPR.
But unless I have been sold a pup by the promised land too, unless Harry can get us promoted, and from a financial viewpoint it now makes sense to get us promotion through the play offs, we as a club face an even gloomier picture if we don't get promoted this season. The spectre of facing a huge Championship fine before a second tier ball is kicked next season hangs large.
So for the good of QPR I have to admit, I was wrong in wanting the manager to go and for us not to be promoted this year. To go up in 2015/6 with a younger, well prepared and hungry squad with some of the enthusiasm we saw over the weekend from the likes of Wigan or even Sheffield Utd.
For potentially the existence of QPR it seems we have to be promoted this season.
I just hope and pray that TF and his board have really learned that money can buy players but it can't buy a team.
Good old Harry, please lead us to the promised land.

This more than anything shows us that Tony despite his best intensions and I think they were his best intensions, has completely lost the plot and continues to do so. He seems a 'genuine nice bloke' but perhaps that's because I believe the PR spin?
What as an owner he failed to do was to bring in a management team of individuals that knew something about how to run a football club. This surely would have afforded us some protection from individuals like Teflon Beard who seems, despite sanctioning the signing of ridiculous player contracts, which is the cause of the loss, to still sit collecting what I would imagine is a very good salary (anyone know from the accounts or is it buried?) and telling us how great we the fans are.
TF should have leaned this 2 seasons ago.......and got in someone that understood player contracts and Agent skills. These parasites must have rubbed their hands in eager anticipation in the biggest payday in their history. "Heard about QPR? We can offload any old past it player to them but what's more they'll pay double what they're worth and give them 4 years rather than a 2 year contract"
I can imagine the agents going into Beard thinking they can get £35k a week and a 2 year contract and Beard saying....'the most we are prepared to pay is £60k a week and only a 4 year deal"
It sounds ridiculous....... but these figures are ridiculous.
I genuinely fear that we are another Portsmouth or Coventry.

“There’s a few of us with contracts up at the end of the year, but we’re fighting tooth and nail to get this club back in the Premier League.
God help us if they were all on long contracts and therefore were just going through the motions.
Fighting tooth and nail?
Unbelievable.

12 years js a long time it would have been nice for you to have seen a win.
Football is a game of opinions and what I see..... others don't..... and vice versa.
Apart from the obvious, every week example (Clint)..... do they go out and 'die' for the cause? Personally I just don't see it hence my spineless/gutless comment.
I think the LR crowd has always been forgiving of players that may at times lack ability if they give 100%. Did the midfield today run until they dropped? Did Junior and JJ inspire us with their desire to get the 3 points? When Yossi came on for 15 minutes did he do more than go through the motions?
Maybe you saw something I didn't after 12 years.
Maybe seeing this mob of millionaires week in week has made me a grumpy old git?
Welcome back!

The guy typifies what those who don't watch games on a regular basis, especially those pundit experts on TV and in newspapers.
On the surface he appears to be a player that can change a game with his vision and insight, a player with Premiership and International pedigree.
A player that oozes class and commands respect on the pitch.
In reality, he is crap and is just going through the 'pick up the loot' motions.

"There was no lack of effort from anybody as there hasn’t been in any other games, they’ve been excellent.
What we lack at the moment is maybe a bit of quality in certain areas."
The manager is effectively saying that in other games there have been lack of effort. How can anyone accept lack of effort and get away with it?
'They've been excellent'. What game was he watching?
Quality in 'certain' areas should have been shortened to 'What we lack is quality'.
Yet another awful gutless and spineless performance.

All day, football training. Nothing else. No second or third job to make ends meet. Just play football.

Waddock and Shittu maybe strange choices but if you ever wanted a couple of players with HUGE hearts that would never give in and seemed genuine these were two. Birch would also fit that category but my fading memory has Waddock as technically better,
Anyone remember Coventry City away one year and Big Dan having a scrap with a Coventry player in the warm up?!

I really DONT hate Rednapp!
I am QPR fan through and through that cannot see what the plan is. If the Club weren't spending millions and millions on players salaries or the transfer market I would accept the performances. If the kids had lost 3-1 yesterday and we had learned something new and importantly the players and management had learned something...ok we learn by our mistakes.
My issue with Harry and also the Board is that they are NOT learning by their mistakes. How surprising that we can't defend against a mobile attack given the average age of the defenders...we didn't learn anything there. How surprising that we are over run in midfield where Barton misplaces half of his passes and Kranjar doesn't track. How surprising we don;t score more than the opposition when our only scoring forward gets injured and we have a bench full of forwards that are always injury. Where is the planning?
There appears to be no grand plan. Forget the name Harry Rednapp and his troop of'what do they do's' that cost this club apparently the best part of £4million a year in salary. I would be calling for any pensionable aged manager to call it day and bring in some young fresh talent. Who is available is one thing...who would come is another. Leicester and Burnley seem to be doing OK with young managers and Spurs are on the up too. They are out there. Would ex players work at QPR? Would a Bircham/Ferdinand ticket with a senior director of football work?
The club are building for the future with the academy and the new ground....yet seem to have forgotten we need to have a team that has a legacy that can be built upon and doesn't change 80% of its squad every 12 months.
I don't hate Harry, I HATE writing about the garbage that comes out of LR.
Why? Because I care, just as you do.
We all want our club to succeed but I just don;t think the current management is doing it correctly and I'd like the line to be drawn sooner rather than later so we can plan for the future.
Mate I truly hope I'm wrong and somehow Harry turns it around........but for anyone that has seen this side play regularly they know that the performances have at times been shocking.
Perhaps I'll forgive Sky for once for showing our games because for those that don;t go every week you can now see pretty typical team performance.

After today?
We saw yet another gutless and spineless performance from a band of players that apart from one or two exceptions are frankly not second rate but third rate.
Reading, as with almost every club that has visited Loftus Road seemed technically better, with superior individual players .......but also played as a team.
Those of you that are not regulars to LR will know that despite some wins we have flattered to deceive and have more luck than we deserved.
The body language of the players is totally wrong, look at the way Benoit and Dunne almost came to blows after the third goal......there was more hatred for each other than for the Reading players.
What an inspired substitution bringing on the carthorse Zamora.
The sending off gave us over 20 minutes to put pressure on Reading and get back in the game but the clueless ones didn't use the space that should have been available and as always there was no plan.
It is time for Harry and all his backroom staff to have their contracts terminated so we can build for the future. This management team is living off reputations from the past. Harry you are a lovely chap but go home to Sandbanks and take a rest. Do some pundit work and gracefully retire from management. You are past it.

I'll use my own son to make my point. I've been supporting the Hoops for 50+ years, born in Hammersmith, lived in Acton and had my first visit to Loftus Road at the age of 5. However at the age of 16 my parents moved out to leafy Buckinghamshire. No change, the die was cast. You can change your job, your wife, your car, but you can never change your football team.
Advance 20 years and with the birth of my son I want him to be the next generation. I take him aged 5. He enjoys it. QPR are his team. He is now 26 years old and we go, father and son together.
However when he was 7-8 he came under huge pressure at school. QPR were awful. His mates 'supported' the winning teams.
Had I stopped going to Loftus Road because it was too far or too expensive and he wanted to go to the local team which is Wycombe Wanderers I would have supported him. 'Dad I'll always have a soft spot for QPR but I'd like to support Wycombe as I can go to games'. Had he said he wanted to support Man U or Liverpool or the unmentionables then I would have disowned him. What son?

I didn't quite expect this to be such an interesting thread!
As expected it divides the message board from those that cannot believe anyone could endorse a 'taxi for Harry' when we are second in the league to those that have sympathy. My concern is actually for next season.
IF we get promotion with this side then it is difficult to see any of the current squad not being up to standard with one of 2 exceptions although Austin/Philips are unproven at the top level. OK we have the potential for Remy back so we may actually have a better strike force that we have today....but who else? Green continues to frighten the life out of me........if the rest can't perform in a really average Championship then they will not cut it at the top table. I can't see ANY Premiership manager watching the Derby game and not rubbing their hands.....'well there's 6 points chaps if they come up'.
This point I think received common agreement. Whilst many players will be out of contract which will be brilliant, we will need a completely new team to stand any chance. Apparently we have no youngsters coming through although given the performance of Sterling at Liverpool we can produce them. Shame that we 'gave him away'. However we cannot blame the current board. It would be interesting to see Paladini's bank statements just after the move. How on God's earth did we allow a football agent to run QPR?
So we have to attract a huge number of players to Loftus Road that will not be on the paltry £30,000 a week that Luke Young gets given for doing.....er...nothing. Even rid of our 'super heroes' I can only see our wage bill under Harry going up. That's how he works. One minute he feels sorry for TF having the piss taken out of him with players wages and then signs Samba on (apparently) £100k a week. A player that was unfit and almost single handedly when he played got us relegated. It was all smiles and 'well good business' when we resold him. Good business? could have fooled me Harry.
Given that it seems the majority are in agreement about promotion surely it makes sense to build for the Premiership now, Premiership 2015/6? I for one would much rather us build a team that can hold its own in the top flight. Going up in 2015/16 to me would be so much better than Premiership relegation in 2015/16.
Short term-ism is part of the problem. People want results and want them NOW. I'd rather build the success of QPR in a sustainable way that doesn't rely on has been journeymen getting a final payday or players that believe they are better than they are.
Would a 'real' Rangers fan not want us to get promoted this year?
If I could see a future plan, built on young talent with a mixture of seasoned pros and a vision.......my answer would be yes.

Look Branson and TF are buddies as they have some tie up in Asia and I suspect TF said something nice about tricky dickie.
The biggest fault of TF is that he never employed football men as his foot soldiers. The cost of Beard's inexperience is there for all to see. Stupid contracts meaning we can't get rid of players.
Imagine a highly successful owner of a football club branching out into the low cost airline business coz it's part of a global plan. Can you imagine Tony having an airline board comprised of men that knew nothing about aviation? No I can't either.
He might have bags of enthusiasm and money.....but he lacks a bit of football savvy. Nice bloke though.

Whilst I know i face the wrath of this message board, surely the time has come to decide if Harry is the right man for the job.
This is not based upon the knee-jerk reaction of the Derby result, it is the fact that Harry and his merry men seem to have lost the plot. Have no Plan A let alone a Plan B.
Those that have been 'lucky' enough to see games at Loftus Road this season will have at times been bored out of their brains. Whilst as the Sky Sports stats revealed last night we are the team that has the most possession in the entire division yet we are the team that is 12th in scoring. Something isn't right. What is the point of playing 'tippy tappy' football for 30 passes and then giving it back to Green to hoof up the pitch? It is not only mindless, it boringly stupid.
For months, normal fans have been saying we need a striker to go alongside Austin as Zamora and Johnson are liabilities. We wait to the last minute to secure loan signings that haven't made it with their current clubs. Where is the planning? Where is the value in the £3-5 million we are paying Harry and his Hangers On? Given the performance last night, just what do they do?
If I were Tony I'd press the nuclear button right now. We've got enough points so we won't be relegated and start to rebuild with a younger manager with new and refreshing ideas that will nurture young talent and give QPR youngsters a chance to prove themselves.
What is the point of getting promoted with this team?
None of them are good enough for the Premiership no matter how good they believe they are. Why are our players never transferred out in the transfer window? Two answers. 1.The contracts they are on are so good that no one else can afford them. 2.They are not as good as they think they are.
The investment of yet another 11 players would need to happen to stand any chance of not coming straight back down and probably be lumbered with yet another set of contracts we cannot afford.
If we make the decision now at least we have 6 months to plan for the start of the 2014'15 season with hopefully a young management team, a lower average age for defenders (was last night a record defensive average age?) We need players that are QPR players and not on loan, we need players that are enthusiastic and not tired has beens looking for a last pay day.
We need to start again.
Tin hat is on!

It's all about the finance and squeezing every last drop of revenue from the fans.
It is also a TV show and we know what TV does to the traditional Saturday afternoon 3pm kick off don;t we! Kick offs as 12.15 or 7.45 on a Monday or move to an effing Sunday at 4.
Get the punters in to 'pay per view' TV using sport as the headline. Wanna watch most football on TV......that'll be the best part of £80 on Sky and another £10 for BT. Need to get extra punters therefore need products.....remember football clubs are brands and matches are products....that consumers want to see.
If you are NOT a fan of the play-offs it provides entertainment. Even if the game is shite, the commentators will large it up with the significance 'The biggest game in the history of biggest games worth £70 million to the winning team'.
I blame the Champions League which at times is not a league and neither does it comprise of champions.
The play offs are here to stay but I for one don't want another Cardiff Ciity 0-1 (although Oldham was bloody good).....but apparently its called progress when the team that over 46 games finishes 6th and gets promoted.

At at time when the words 'legend' is bandied about and diluted, here was a real Loftus Road legend.
Humble, as players tended to be in those days, he always always gave 100%.
Us old gits may have rose coloured glasses with the players of yester year, something that the youngsters won't understand. Players that bleed blue and white. Players that didn't need to kiss the badge to prove anything.
I felt privileged to have seen him play.
