Ball and Adomah off, Willock and Kakay on.
Puts Kane at wide right and Willock to cut in from wide left.
First move of the half, Willock beats his man, feeds Chair, dangerous ball across the box, Kane's shot hits the post at the far post.

Bit of a worry having Dickie and Kane on yellows the way Armstrong is running at us. They're getting a lot of joy on the flanks and Ball and Cameron together still feels stodgy.
Dunno if at some point in the second half you have Willock on for one of Ball/Cameron, Carroll slots backwards into the vacated CM gap, Chair goes to 10 with Willock wide left. Then you've got Bonne for Adomah.
Although could see Bettache get an airing in the middle.

An incredible save from Dieng to keep it 0-0. No idea how he has kept that out.
30 mins in on a two game winning run and talking to myself loooooool.

Kane and Dickie already in the book. Dickie again with that habit of unnecessarily putting his hand on attackers.

Started pretty alright. Adomah had roasted his full back multiple times already.
Very good opportunity for Caroll who opts not to shoot.

My guess would be largely unchanged. Know Warburton made a point after the last game that we'll see Bonne in a variety of ways, sometimes as a one, sometimes paired with Dykes or he can slot into the three behind Dykes too. Could mean a potential start for Willock if BOS can't make this, with Adomah on the other wing. With Admomah rarely making it past 60 mins, that could mean we keep Bonne on the bench to replace him with Dykes leading the line. Sure he will be available but would also factor in that Chair absolutely ran himself into the ground at Derby so maybe he'll get a rest...but with the international break, maybe they'll see that as rest enough for him. Tempting fate but potentially a good time to play Blackburn with their injuries, if people are still out. They started very brightly but havn't looked the same since losing some key players. 21 years since we won there so hopefully this is the year! Last time I went was a January midweek in 2016 for the 1-1 draw which I think was Lumley's first ever appearance. It was freezing cold, took about 300 and it didn't feel like many more Blackburn fans either considering it was bang in the worst of the Venky's era. Distinctly remember us eating at a curry house that was shut down a week later due to having rats in the kitchen. Plus side, this is the night me and a friend took credit for the first airing of the now popular "QPR FC, from the White City" chant (though on that night, it started as "QPR FC, f*cking hate Chelsea" and has since been sanitised!). We sang it for almost 90 minutes until people grudgingly joined in. May be the most drunk I've ever been at the football.

Not sure how BOS is after coming off with a stain in the last game. Will Boone start rather than dykes? Isn't that what the kitman's for?

Happy enough with that first half. Think Chair has done well Defenders looked ok keeper inspires confidence. Like to see BOS have a run at the full back. And Adomah come to that seems unmarked a lot. Yeah agree. Derby weirdly cagey and ponderous. Isn't shaping up to be a high scoring affair, just hope it's us who breaks the deadlock.

For me the board fills a particular niche for me really nicely. Weirdly, the very reasons terryb rightly points to that have people heading off to Facebook etc are the reasons I ended up here. The football-only remit is a big chunk of it. I love talking about QPR but after being a long term poster on LFW, I migrated here because I can't trust myself to not get involved in the politics threads that increasingly became such a big thing over there (having a poster offer me out for a straightener at the next home game for my opinions was one of the final straws haha). It's a great site and I'm good friends with Clive but it's about knowing what things set you off and well, the messageboard there is one of them for me haha. I work with social media a lot for work, so I largely keep off it on a personal level. Deleted my Facebook ages ago. The QPR groups are very active but massively toxic and the fact you know it's rapidly updating with notifications etc is stress I just can't be arsed with. Ditto with Twitter, it's crowded, it's hard to gauge tone, you don't have much space to express yourself and it is just full of 'drive by' opinions and venting. Here at least, the pace is slower but you get a sense of personality behind posters over time. People sometimes get pissed off or whatever, but it's broadly good natured and people back up their opinions. It's a decent debate and a good low-commitment option to talk solely about QPR with other people who care about the club. And it's often a benefit for me too, as someone who's age means I've 'only' been coming to QPR from the 90s onwards to get some historical perspective. The current club picture and diversity of opinions is a lot easier to kinda assess and consider when you have opinions from people who have actually seen the club compete at the very highest level. Whereas for me, bar some very hazy memories of Sir Les and the Warnock era, I've largely experienced us as a struggling side. I had you down for longer and older. though 1990 was thirty years ago as terrible as that sounds . Its also 1992 the premier league started and of course year 1 QPR top London club in 5th ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Man. City . OK its not been great since but hey-ho it happened. I stopped going to QPR a few years back. But the one great thing I have is I can say Ive watched my team win at Wembley win in Europe play in the millenium stadium Win at old Trafford and Anfield. Its always great to be able to throw those facts in the faces of Arsenal Chelsea and Man utd fans. Slightly unfair as they probably been no nearer than a TV screen. Its unfair in the fact that someone who says they support QPR and have never been to the ground does not bother me and IS a life-long supporter. I admire our USA. Kiwis Aussie and Euro Fans who follow us from a far, with some of the time difference's not sure I would bother sometimes !! because its easy to just follow Man Utd Liverpool or Arsenal it takes a bit of Effort to follow QPR whatever the reason. Hehe true true, though I was very small for the bulk of that positive period sadly..!

I have always been in favour of a midfielder being captain just for ease of communication and being able to see what is going on all over the pitch. Of the current bunch I would exclude all teh young players - for the moment and don't heap extra pressure on them. That really brings it down to Cameron or Ball. Yeah think it probably has to be one of them. When it was Barbet, my guess was that Warburton trusts him cos he had him at Brentford and as his style means he wants a left footed CB on the pitch, he basically gets auto selected anyway. But with brain farts, probably didn't make sense.

Ricky I posted along the same lines about Cameron being captain and how I could not see him getting a game. Someone pointed out how perhaps he was more club captain than team captain, which could be true but I feel you need a captain on the field. I have to say I don't think we have any real leaders. I suppose the man with most "qualifications " is Carroll but then not sure he is guaranteed a start so what would be the point in changing. My biggest gripe with Warburton is his constant picking of out of form players it almost feels he is Justifying the purchase of some players. With the squad we have there is no real need to justify anything. Nobody cost a fortune ,their wages are pretty much the same now I assume . There is pretty much 2 players at least in most positions. I would just like to see the occasional try of the other man now and again especially after a defeat or poor performance. Give Ball a start Masterson, Willock even Kelman If he is good enough for the bench must be good enough to start. I think we'll see more rotation as the season goes on and the games go thick and fast, but think you can cause as much bother switching folk out as you can leaving them in. With strikers for examples, countless times a goal is what gets them going and it's worth persisting until they click with the (often new) players around them. Different level of quality but remember we stuck with Wells through a very fallow patch where he was missing sitters for fun and was just desperate for a goal in open play. Once he got it, he rarely looked back. You've got a lot of weird balancing to do with our lot. There is cover in each position but they come with their own caveats. Adomah can rarely do the full 90 so far, but Thomas isn't fit, BOS has had the contract madness and Willock is young and being eased in. Up top, Dykes is our only real "one', Bonne and him have collectively had very little time together and Kelman is facing a big old step up, but with all the time in the world on his side. Wallace and Niko are too extremes of youth and experience, Kakay has made his claim for the RB slot but again, don't want to flog him to death and Kane has slotted in to support that. I think Cameron and Ball are increasingly going to be interchangeable, both cos of Cameron's age and tactically (think we look stodgy with both of them in). I think less than 10 games in it is hard to see a trend about it.

We dominated first half quite clearly with five midfielders, with leading display from Chair. Also Carroll made some nice passes, I really like his style of play. Right after half time Cardiff made substitution with Hoillet coming in and he really seemed effective. We were having some troubles every now and then, and finally when Lee Tomlinson came in, I started to wonder why and where are we conserving Dom Ball? Midfield lost quite totally and it seemed that MW didnĀ“t know what to do... Opponent gained momentum all the time... Finally Ball was taken in and what a display by him! Would like to crown him as MOM, but maybe next time when he should definitely be in starting eleven! Most positive names today: Chair, Carroll, Dykes, Cameron, Dieng, Ball. Saw a lot from Carroll today which I didn't expect to be honest. Always seen him as another extreme in an extreme of central midfielders - either rough and tumble ball recyclers (Cameron or Ball) or lightweight carriers (Amos and Carroll). But today, rather than his kinda quarter back role, he pushed much higher today. Involved in the first two goals, nimble and actually fairly quick. Maybe more to him than meets the eye. Think a good chunk of that was Chair receiving the ball deeper, having another body to carry the ball forward from the middle. Gave more opportunity for the attacking mids to actually get between the lines rather than playing in front of the oppo defence. Agree that dropped off a bit in the second half and Ball was important in wrestling the midfield back. All analysis aside, though. We got 3 points from Dom bloody Ball cracking one in from 25 yards in stoppage time. Those are the moments that make it all worth it.
