Brandon Comley has joined Colchester Utd for an undisclosed fee (just popped up on my phone) It is a bonus if we received a fee for him - although undisclosed could mean free. Wish him well anyway.

Wishing Comley all the best there, they seem to love him there. Would have imagined a fee 57 not free.
Would be Good to get rid of JET and Borysuik as we don’t have plans for him. I guess if they are not in the squad to play Chelsea u23 tomorrow, they might be on there way soon.
I think they played in both the last U23 games recently to go in the shop window.

What the Offie says about Comley leaving. I wonder what the fee was? Good luck to him www.qpr.co.uk/news/under-23s-news/comley-joins-colchester-on-permanent-deal/Comley joins Colchester on permanent dealIan Taylor @ijtaylor81 MIDFIELDER Brandon Comley has joined Colchester United for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old, who spent the first half of the season on loan with the League Two side, has now put pen to paper on a permanent deal at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. Comley leaves Loftus Road having made three substitute appearances at First Team level. During his time in W12, he also enjoyed loan spells at Carlisle United and Grimsby Town, prior to going to Colchester on loan in August, for whom he has made 23 appearances in all competitions this season. The club wishes Brandon all the best for the future.

From WLS www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-looking-30-goal-greens-strikerQPR looking at 30-goal Greens strikerBy West London Sport 17/01/2018 Niko Muir, a striker who has scored 30 goals for Hendon this season, is having a trial with QPR. Muir, 24, is in his second spell with the Greens. He has also played for a number of other non-League sides, including Northwood, Grays Athletic, Wingate & Finchley, VCD Athletic and Leiston. He has scored a total of 41 goals in 65 appearances for Hendon, who say other League clubs have been showing an interest on him.

We need a proven striker and I see that a new striker is available. Can we sign Ben Stokes?! I'll get my coat! Scrub this one. Now that Stokes has been charged with affray the ECB has decided that he can represent England again whereas he couldn't when he hadn't been charged.

What’s happening to Wheeler ?

What’s happening to Wheeler ? Apparently it's already been determined he's no good. GWL reporting he's on his way out which means nothing but for some reason WLS picked it up which makes me think it could be true. Scored on is debut and never heard from again. That's how we roll.

I find this one very strange. Why haven’t we tried this kid more.
Borysuik was a strange buy, if not going to use, this seems down right weird..

I find this one very strange. Why haven’t we tried this kid more. Borysuik was a strange buy, if not going to use, this seems down right weird.. I always though Borysuik was a good signing and the strange thing to me is that he never really has been given a chance. He has represented Poland at every level possible but is not good enough for the Championship?
He may have suffered with the change of managers after he was signed and at the start of this season Ollie admitted he had made a very hasty decision to loan him out last January to trim costs without knowing anything about him. I have seen rumours of him not having settled in London and also having language difficulties so that may be behind the way things have worked out. I can imagine that Ollie as Mr Motivator would have a problem with players who do not speak English - after all sometimes I have trouble following his train of thought so for Borysuik it must be close on impossible.
The other factor is that with Luongo, Scowen, Freeman Pawel and Cousins ahead of him for the midfield and then playing defensive wing backs he is down the pecking list but not to even be on the bench occasionally is strange. Probably best for both the club and player to move him on in this window if he is not to be used.
Given his age I thought Wheeler was a gamble. I saw him as another version of Mackie with lots of running and pace and a better goal scoring record at a lower level. It looks like the gamble did not pay off and the coaches maybe think he cannot make the step up. The way things are shaping up he may just end up competing with the younger players coming through so I will not be surprised to see him move on now either on loan or sold. Bright is another one with a question mark hanging over him imo. Ollie raves about him at times but he rarely features. Truth is unless there are injuries I cannot see him getting ahead of the others at the moment but obviously he is bit younger than Wheeler and maybe worth hanging on to see if he can develop.
Then of course there is JET.......

Scored on is debut and never heard from again. That's how we roll. WLS hasn't picked anything up, it's just reporting the rumours that are out there. Tracing it back, it seems to be speculation that began with GWL basically reasoning that he's 26 (he's not, he's 27) and in the prime of his career and therefore wants first team football. They go on to do 2+2=5 and say that his limited first team outings means the move hasn't worked out. This got picked up by the likes of Devon Live and in turn WLS are reporting on the speculation/rumours i.e. the rumour is news, not the story itself. Obviously no one can say for sure if it's rubbish but I find it very hard to believe. He was a player brought in categorically for the medium term. When we signed him, the club openly said it was a big step up and that we're going to try and develop him, Wheeler essentially said the same. I can't imagine we would get rid on that basis unless someone randomly offered us a bunch of money. Edit: Get West London journo on Twitter has commented that the Wheeler out the door story is based on his own opinion of the situation and is not based on any information coming from the club at all.

From WLS www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-news-qpr-cull-updated-180118Three more set to leave QPRBy David McIntyre 18/01/2018 QPR are set to release three more youngsters as part of a clearout at Loftus Road. Axel Prohouly, Dan Darbyshire and Danny Rowe and likely to leave by mutual consent after being told they have no future at the club. French forward Prohouly, 20, was signed in the summer of 2015 after being released by Monaco. He has not made a first-team appearance for Rangers. Neither have youth product Darbyshire or winger Rowe, who was signed last year after being released by Leicester. Having recently sold Yeni Ngbakoto, parted company with Steven Caulker and loaned Sean Goss to Glasgow Rangers, the R’s last week terminated the contracts of youngsters Reece Grego-Cox and Michael Petrasso by mutual consent. And midfielder Brandon Comley this week made a permanent move to Colchester United, where he had been on loan. “You have to get the balance right,” manager Ian Holloway said at the weekend. “We’ve got far too many players and I’ll be doing a little bit of a cull, because if you’re not getting fresh and coming through then you need to move on. “So you’ll see over the next few days that some will be released because they’re in the way. “Hopefully that will give us a fresh impetus and then we’ll see where we go.”

If true about these 3 that will be 8 players permanently gone already this window plus Goss loaned out. Obviously most were not big earners but I assume we paid off the "mutual consent" leavers. Considering one of those was Caulker I would guess the transfer fees received for Comley and Yeni just about cover what it has cost to move the rest on. If that is the case it does not leave any extra cash for signings but at least it has made a dent in the wage bill - and the kit laundry bill.

Yes, 10 players gone out the door and 2 returned from loans - so a net 8 fewer players. Presumably, they will terminate JET's contract (at a cost) and also Borsyiak will depart. Seems that FFP has meant that there is no room for sentiment this window. I would be disappointed if Wheeler were to be sold, but a loan may benefit all. But the exits keep coming! Out - Caulker,Ngbakoto, Comley, Petrasso, Grego-Cox. Prohouly, Rowe , Darbyshire Lumley & Goss Back In Eze and Ingram

We still don’t know if Wheeler, Sylla or Washington are staying? We certainly don't know that they are leaving & until the offie informs us otherwise, I would expect them to be here come February. IMO, that would definitely apply to Washington. I can see some merit in loaning Wheeler for the rest of the season, but I'm far from convinced that we will.

IMO, that would definitely apply to Washington. I can see some merit in loaning Wheeler for the rest of the season, but I'm far from convinced that we will. While we are trimming the squad the simple truth is that we cannot let Washington or Sylla go unless we have someone of equivalent level being signed to replace them. I am not a Washington fan (yet) but both have been core to first team the squad and played in rotation and we should not be looking to move out core squad members.
A Wheeler loan can be argued but it is a weak argument. He is 26 or 27 years old and has played plenty of league football at the lower levels already so he is not going to improve by sending him back there on a loan to gain experience or match time. If the decision has been made that he will not make it with us then by all means sell him or loan him out to be fair to the player to cut costs. If the decision is that he can improve and get in the team keep him and expose him to the squad and training and try to develop him.
Looking at the speed that players like Petrasso are finding new clubs, including an international move, I would guess these players and agents were told some time ago that they should start looking for a club to move to in January.

Pawel off? From WLS:
I really don't think we're making the most of Pawel's talents - would love to keep him - and play him more consistently (in his right position). It was only a few months ago he was playing so well that he was being linked to with a move to a certain West London Premier League club (I can't bring myself to type the name...)

Wheeler is not available tomorrow due to an ankle injury. Perhaps he has been injured after all rather than dropped from the first team squad.

The Wszolek story is interesting timing. I do not think the club would want to let him go, but if true then it will be a good indication of how much FFP pressure we are under for this season. I guess if we sell it would be because we need to raise cash and at the end of the day, every player has his price.

He's looked a little leggy of late but he's still one of the few players we've got who can skin a full back and deliver an accurate cross into the box consistently. But as you say, all of our players will have their price.

Why are we not bringing players in? We seem to be getting rid of players, is this the January transfer window? We need players, so why are we always the last to sign At the very last minute On the very last day? Does the management know what they are doing?

He may seem a bit leggy recently but given the amount of work he does its not surprising. The issue for me is that at the moment, when he is being played he is playing too deep, with little or no protection behind him. That is stopping him making some of his attacking runs. I hope this is not another case of the club turning a good player into an average one by playing him out of position.
Only Ollie knows why he is not playing him so much and then out of position but I would guess it was to accommodate more defensive wide players while we were on a bad run. If he intends to keep using Pawel as a sub I can imagine Pawel would not be happy and may look to move on and as you say everyone has their price

Does the management know what they are doing? 1) Because we have no money. 2) Because we have far too many players already at the club. 3) Because we DO NOT need new players. 4) Because we still need to keep to the current FFP rules. 5) Yes, the management do know what they are doing. It has taken them seven years, but they do now seem to know. Thankfully, Lee Hoos & Les Ferdinand have shackled our board & the club are benefitting.

Despite FFP I think we could bring in a decent striker. Ollie made the point recently that at one time this season we had 8 defenders out injured. We haven't had that many strikers out but have still struggled to score. Splashing out a some cash for a proven Championship striker is IMO something we need to do. We could get rid of a couple of the non performing ones to pay for him.

There are cheaper options but they would be a gamble, much as Washington was, and that has yet to pay off.
