From the Birmingham Mail www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/qprs-january-interest-star-striker-14139339?_ga=2.178812071.205897905.1515681727-1356076710.1451916130QPR'S January interest in star striker is no surprise to MorrellQPR, Barnsley and MK Dons have been linked with Stevenage ace Newton By Matt Panter 10:43, 11 JAN 2018 UPDATED 14:18, 11 JAN 2018 Tamworth boss Andy Morrell says heâs not surprised to see former striker Danny Newton attracting interest from the likes of QPR and Barnsley. Newton, whose 29 goals for Tamworth last season earned him a move to Stevenage, is already making big strides in League Two. He has notched ten times for the Boro already. Indeed, his second in Stevenageâs 5-2 FA Cup win against Swindon, where he ran from his own half before finishing, was voted goal of the round by BBC viewers. The 26-year-old is now being tracked by a number of Championship clubs with QPR reportedly considering a move in January. Lambs boss Morrell, who took Newton to Tamworth from Leamington, said: âDanny has hit the ground running since he went to Stevenage. âHe has taken what he was doing with us last year and been exactly the same. âHeâs gone about his business like Newts always does. âI think it always helps when you get an early goal for a new club. He did that and your confidence is high then. âHe had a little injury and came out of the team. Thatâs when you know when you have got a player or not. âThey can either come back or disappear but heâs certainly come back. âI think heâs got nine or ten for Stevenage already which is brilliant for this stage of the season. I am absolutely made up for him.â Newton was a graduate of Jamie Vardyâs V9 Academy this summer, having impressed their scouts with his performances at The Lamb. And Morrell believes he can kick on and move up the leagues. âI donât think itâs any surprise at all that higher league clubs like QPR are being linked with him,â said Morrell. âWhen you score nine or ten goals before January, you are bound to catch the eye. âSome of the goals he has scored have been really exciting as well and when you are being voted âgoal of the roundâ in something like the FA Cup, you are getting your name out there." âAs I say, Iâm just really pleased for him. Heâs a great lad and has taken the full-time thing in his stride. âHe was fantastic for us. He was the player who started things off for us. âWhen we were in a tricky game, he as the one who got everyone going. âHe has a great work ethic and thatâs something I have no doubt he will maintain through the rest of his career.â

We're apparently in for Pilkington from Cardiff (we need another winger or two...) Also, Rangers (the Jock lot) seem to be raving about Goss after his first game:

Pilkington>Winger, also known as a makeshift Striker.
Thatâs probably more of where we will use him?

From WLS. The silly season is in full swing! www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-qpr-bolton-wanderers-cardiff-city-anthony-pilkington-linked-120118Transfer gossip: QPR linked with Cardiff wingerBy West London Sport 12/01/2018 Some of the recent transfer speculation involving QPR⌠QPR have made an approach to take winger Anthony Pilkington on loan from Cardiff City, The Sun say. Bolton are also said to have made an approach for the 29-year-old, who was previously among QPRâs transfer targets. He has been tipped to leave Cardiff, having made just one league appearance for the Welsh side this season. Washington linked with Posh returnItâs claimed that Conor Washington could rejoin Peterborough. Get West London have picked up on speculation by transfer-gossip website HITC that the QPR striker could return to his former club as part of a deal involving Jack Marriott. It comes after it was recently claimed that Rangers, severely restricted by Financial Fair Play rules, could be in the running to sign Peterborough striker Marriott for ÂŁ2.5m. Now it is being suggested that Washington could return to London Road. This would involve him being willing to swap his contract at Championship Rangers for a return to League One wages at Posh, or QPR â despite their financial restrictions â subsidising Washingtonâs wages while also signing Marriott. Ghoddos still being linkedSaman Ghoddos continues to be linked with QPR. The Iran forward, who plays for Swedish side Ostersunds, has been repeatedly described as a QPR target by several media outlets since being among the host of players linked with Rangers by Get West London during the summer transfer window. It was claimed that Rangers, currently working to a restricted budget largely because of Financial Fair Play rules, were in the running to sign Ghoddos for a fee in excess of ÂŁ2m. He has never been among the clubâs transfer targets. NâKunku linked againQPR have also recently been linked again with Paris St-Germain midfielder Christopher NâKunku. Italian website Calciomercato reckon Rangers are admirers of the 20-year-old, who has reportedly told PSG that he wants to leave because he is unhappy about his lack of first-team action. Again, the story appears to be based on NâKunku being among the players Get West London linked with QPR during the summer transfer window. Speculation over EisaThe Daily Mail say Charlton and Oxford United are considering making offers for Wealdstone winger Abobaker Eisa, who has been looked at by QPR. Rangers have watched the 21-year-old, who previously played for Uxbridge and has scored six goals in his last six matches and 10 in total so far this season. He is among a host of non-League players Rangers have watched this season. The Mail claim Charlton and Oxford are keen on Eisa and that as well as QPR there are other Championship clubs showing an interest. Mail link QPR with NewtonThe Mail also claim QPR are tracking Stevenage striker Danny Newton. A Rangers scout recently attended a Stevenage game, seemingly prompting the speculation that Newton is being watched by the club. The Mail also say Barnsley and MK Dons are monitoring the 26-year-old ahead of a possible move. Remy still being linkedQPR have again been linked with Montpellier defender William Remy. The 26-year-old was linked with Rangers during previous transfer windows but has never been a target for the club. Nevertheless, there is more speculation about his future and French publication LâEquipe have suggested that he could leave in January. That has led Sport Witness to suggest there is interest from QPR and Leeds, who have also been linked with him in the past. Story claims Burnley are interested in OnuohaBurnley are among clubs to have made enquiries about QPR captain Nedum Onuoha, the Mail reckon. The newspaper say Rangers are keen to extend Onuohaâs contract, which is due to expire at the end of the season. And it is claimed that Premier League clubs have shown an interest in the 31-year-old, who returned to action against Leeds on Saturday following a hamstring injury.

Don't get wound up about it - WLS have reported so many rumours about players we are supposedly interested in signing its a joke. We do not even have enough scouts to go out to see all the players we are linked with - and certainly do not have the cash to afford half of them. Pure click bait in 99% of the cases.

I think West London Sport is probably one of the more reliable and reputable sources of info about QPR, and far less guilty of 'click bait' articles than most. Get West London on the other hand is nothing but click bait - I stopped following them on social media and deleted them from my NewsNow QPR feed.

Agreed on their reporting of facts but this section is the WLS round up of rumours that have appeared elsewhere and rarely with any foundation. Either way until I see something on the Offie re a transfer it is never a done deal imo.

I would let him go then for the same we paid for him, or if they think he is that good ask for a million and make a profit.
I feel he is too light weight and a "luxury" type player at Championship level and doubt he will force his ways into Ollies plans. Playing friendlies for the fake Rangers he will have the space and time to pass it around as no doubt he can do and he will look good. Put him in the crunch of the Championship with no time or space and a few biting tackles and he will look completely different. To get on with us he needs the Scowen type fight to add to his ability - which I do not think has been that obvious either.

Maybe we are being a bit harsh and should give him more time. Les said there is no buyout option in this loan.

Clearly Goss wan't in Ollie's plans, so a decent loan period best for all. At a high-profile side like Rangers, if he does well it can only boost his transfer value - or convince Ollie to take him back and play him next season. Comparisons in the press to Carrick and Pirlo can only help both options...

Maybe we are being a bit harsh and should give him more time. Les said there is no buyout option in this loan. Maybe harsh but that's the name of the game these days. He is 22 years old, been with us for one year now and contract runs for another two and a half years. He made only 6 appearances last season and maybe did not complete 90 minutes in a game. No games this season and never played for Man Utd.
No difference in those stats compared to someone like Gladwin who at least had performed in League football before joining us but was quickly written off without being given a real chance. If we can recoup our transfer fee now or at the end of the season take the money and run imo - unless Ollie goes and we get someone who will play Goss at the expense of Freeman Scowen or Luongo.

This approach makes sense to me and it should have been done earlier.
As this month passes I am coming to the view that we may not sign anyone in this window. Although I have previously called for another striker and CB I am also coming to the view that maybe we are best sticking with what we have (after the clear out is finished) let the youngsters coming through have their chance then strengthen in the summer if needs be.

Yes, going by previous comments, expected Comley, Borysuik and hopefully JET move on.
Be surprised if many others in our main squad unless there are a couple more youngsters.

I have no problem with not signing anyone.
Every player gives their all & that will be more than enough this season.

Some voices of reason starting to win through at last both within the club and on this board. Long may it continue.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion I hope we can also go a few weeks (at least) now without the usual "we are crap" and "Ollie out" posts if a result goes against us. Of course winning games is the best way to stop that but even then some "fans" will not be happy.

From Hendon FC website tonight. The club are able to confirm that Niko Muir is currently having a week of training with QPR although no formal offer has been made. QPR are one of a number of Championship and League One clubs who have expressed an interest in Niko following his performances so far this season. From a few weeks ago.. www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/11/22/por-football-league-trio-track-hendon-striker-muir/I think he is on 34 goals for Hendon so far this season. Including a Hatrick against Harlow a few weeks ago, he must be good Mind you, wasnât out last non league Striker Troy Hewitt ... that didnât work well but Les from Hayes did ....
