Just read that Mobray is temporarily stepping down as Birmingham Manger due t illness. I wish him the best but that will cause Brum a few headaches. Not my favourite manager but wish him all the best. Can't help having sympathy with the Brum fans (reluctantly) after the going ons up there this season, but the owners ......naaah Apparently he will be "advising" remotely while under treatment for 6 to 8 weeks which is a good chunk of the rest of the season. I suppose they can always hire Beale on a short term deal to cover or maybe Ainsworth to get them up the league

Draw for Blackburn, Loss for Plymouth, Rotherham come back from 3-1 away at Ipswich to 3-3 then concede in 90+4 losing 4-3 That will hurt them.
Scored three away goals though, we need to take chances Saturday

I am quite excited by the thought if we actually put in a performance Saturday we could up with more points than games.
Seems such a long time ago as it was 11th September the last time we had more points than games, 6 points from 5 games. Which then went to 8 points from 8 games , to 8 points from 14 games after another six straight losses before Ainsworth was given his marching orders. I just hope we manage it.

It would seem that Rotherham are perhaps playing with no fear and just going for it with nothing too lose since they are now very much cut adrift. They could be a dangerous opponent with that game plan, but I fancy us to treat this almost like an away game in parts - let them attack but when it breaks down, due to their lack of quality, we counter and create good chances on the break.

Yes - it will not be easy, and as ever if Rotherham score early (like last night) QPR will probably spend the game chasing....poorly. But where there is hope......

Well done Marti since losing the Cardiff and Watford home games last 7 =. WWLDWDW , 14 points from 21 Marti = 27 points from 20 matches Equivalent to 62 in a full season , compared to Ainsworth 8 pts from 14 , equiv to 26 in a full season , a class apart.

Huddersfield managed to hold out for a point v Leeds, despite playing the entire 2nd half with 10 men. Wins for Watford and Middlesbrough would be nice.

Loss for Birmingham and Blackburn and a new team we have pulled into Plymouth Draw for Hudds but annoying wins for Sheff Weds, Millwall and Stoke Looking like the last two places of relegation from 8 teams or maybe 9 with Swansea.
We looked like certs for the drop 8 games ago. Keep up this level of effort Rangers for 11 more games

A couple of weekends and we havnt had much luck with other results Please, please, please can we have some luck. Two relegation battles Home wins for Leeds and Hull would be nice. Plymouths home form has deserted them, very much in the mix to drop now from a couple of months ago being clear.
Blackburn Rovers v Millwall , draw please Hull City v Birmingham City, Hull win Leeds United v Stoke City, Leeds win Sheffield Wednesday v Plymouth Argyle, draw please

8 games ago what would have been the odds of both us and Sheff Weds staying up? Now a real possibility. Results were kind as can’t have it all our way so lads need to do the business tomorrow. A draw would not be too bad now although it’s a home game. Could be any two from the whole of the bottom half of the table that go down now.

Hoping for some luck with the other games over the weekend. Even though our current form is 14 points over the last 8 games, Sheff Weds have taken 15 points from the last 8. We are both much better than all the rest of the pack.
Friday Sheff Weds v Leeds, need an away win for Leeds tonight
Saturday Blackburn Rovers v Plymouth Argyle , I guess draw Millwall v Birmingham City, I guess draw Preston v Stoke City , home win for Preston
Sunday Hudds v WBA , away win WBA Bristol City v Swansea City, Bristol win

The whole season is weird, the number of points needed, 2 apparently completely lost teams rallying like that etc. But often, two teams are gone from about March and it is all about the remaining relegation slot. This season, Rotherham are so adrift, the top clubs have record number of points and so the number of vulnerable clubs is amazing. I still think at least one team will hit a run of bad form in the bunch and be adrift from the group. But for the life of me, I look at the table and have absolutely no idea who will be relegated. Millwall not playing well but winning with a new manager. Sheffield W in remarkable form - can it continue? Stoke in the bottom 3 now? Plymouth faltering.... I just hope that it is not QPR who falter through bad luck, injuries or suspensions. But it could be anyone from 12th today. Keep it going lads!

I agree, very strange season in the relegation battle but I am sure after the Easter games, a few teams will pull away and we are likely be left with 2 from 5/6. Anyone of that group of 12 will probably be safe with 2 wins from next 4 games. Our next four games (Boro H, Sunderland A, Birmingham H, Swansea A) can certainly yield that return, maybe more the way we are playing. Blackburn need to pick up points in the next 2 games as they have a hard run in. Not quite worked yet for Eustace and they could easily drop if they only win 2 of their remaining 10 games. Stoke also have a difficult run of fixtures. All teams will be looking for 4 wins in last 10 games - anything less and likely you go down. Is there a team or two in there what might go on a 10 game winless run? Quite possibly. Disastrous at this stage of the season and with the number of teams involved in the relegation fight. We are playing well and have some very winnable games against teams that probably don't have much to play for now such as our next two opponents. Now that we have caught up and outside of the bottom 3, draws are not too bad if at least 2 of the other teams around us don't win.

I would hope we have a bit of a lead before last 4 games as Preston,Hull , Leeds and Cov is a very tough run in. We must get 2- 3 wins minimum from next 6 games.

Huddersfield 1-4 WBA Keeps us out of the relegation zone until the Sunderland game at least WBA really awful in the first half - Huddersfield excellent. High press, WBA making all the errors that they showed against us. Half time, Huddersfield could have been out of sight. Then an excellent manager makes some tweaks, and a totally different Albion, completely out class Huddersfield. Scored some great goals in the process. If our game yesterday was a tale of two halves, this one certainly was. This league is nuts, but I enjoyed the second half!

Swansea 55 Millwall 54 QPR 51 Stoke 49 Plymouth 49 Birmingham 48 Huddersfield 48 Sheff Weds 48 Blackburn 46 I got to 51 points for us with 3 wins (in next 4 games) and 3 draws (no wins in last 5?!!). Blackburn certainly have the toughest run-in and are in bad form. I have them losing their next 4 games! Swansea should be safe with the easiest run-in, on paper, given they play 5 games against the teams in the mix plus Rotherham, and probably only need 2 wins and 2 draws. BUT, they will be intense matches, week after week, so could be tough in the end if they lose the first 2 or 3. There toughest run is probably the next 4 games as 4 of their last 5 look very winnable. Its the Championship, so I will probably be miles off but hopefully not with Rangers!

Other results almost a perfect weekend Home losses for Stoke, Birmingham and Plymouth Away losses for Sheff Weds and Millwall today.
Draws for Blackburn and Huddersfield could only manage a draw with Rotherham.
Just Swansea winning.
8 games to go, 4 teams in the bottom 10, followed by 4 teams in the top 9.

Good loss for Millwall (for us) but really our fate is in our own hands and no reason why we cannot pick up 10 or 12 points from the next 4 games and open a gap - or lose the lot and we know what that means.
But either way what a stupid time to have an international break at the climax of the season, Different teams react in different ways after an international break, some partly depending on who is away.
We have had a habit of being slow starters . Meanwhile clubs with recent changes in managers or those on bad runs have the time to have a break and rebuild. Surely these internationals could have been played after the end of the season instead of interrupting what is a fascinating nerve racking chaotic end to the Championship season with so many clubs in the relegation mix. Still TV money and FIFA talks at the expense of common sense league football.
Dykes is away and likely to come back tired or injured but we (should) have cover but will Armstrong go to the Irish or Frey to Switzerland . No idea who might be away and missing training for the massive Brum game but none of this is ideal.
