Wonder how Birmingham fans felt when they appointed Rowett. A manager who had only managed 1 team, and a league 2 team at that, and failed at 2 attempts to get them promoted. Obviously had never even managed a league 1 team, let alone a Championship one. Now, let's have a look at JFH taking over a good "Rowett" team. Rowett started off last season with a barnstorming run of 6 wins and 1 draw in the 1st 7 games. His next 8 games though yielded 3 wins and 5 defeats. JFH then took over and, in his 30 games in charge that season, got 19 wins, 8 draws and only 3 defeats, winning League 2 and achieving promotion by 10 points. Now, if JFH had taken over the team in say, March and just guided the on the path already set by the previous incumbent, then I'd say you may have a case for saying he did it because of Rowett but he did it over 2/3 of the season. They also sit in 3rd place in league one at over a 3rd of the way into the season. Rowett took the Birmingham job on October 27th 2014 so it's been 13 months. How long do you credit one manager's success to the previous one? So surely, as Birmingham took an unproven league 2 manager and achieved some form of success, surely we should be willing to support our club in taking on a league 1 manage with some success behind him? Fair enough points . Where we sit today would still prefer someone that had managed in the Championship. Rowett has, JFH hasnt. Whilst Pearson is probably a no go because of someone else at our club, only at QPR the best candidate cant even be considered . Or is that Pearsons fault. Why is Pearson the best candidate? What has he shown you over his managerial career that tells you that QPR is the best fit for his skill set. Do you know what his skill set is?

Derby top of the championship ! Why didn't we go all out to get Clement when he was available ? I still believe a lot of the issues are because of Ferdinands role .

Hoos, Ferdinand, Gnanalingam et al better know his skill set because if they employ him then their giving him the keys to the family car. That's something I would expect and demand that the board know about the next man they're appointing. I'm not sure that the board even know what they want. I could be wrong but historically the track record isn't good. I don't know a lot about Pearson or his management style or how similar to Leicester's set up QPR is or wants to be. The problem is that I genuinely don't know what kind of club QPR wants to be and whether that will change again in 6 months or 6 weeks or even 6 days time. Pearson might be right for us today but in a few months time the numptys that run our beloved club could do a 180 and decide they want to do something different again. This is why I'm not in any rush to appoint the next messiah at LR.

We all wanted him but we got CR instead . poor poor choice. Just for some clarity here, according to McIntyre TF wanted him too but he turned us down. Not sure what else the club could have done regarding Clement if he said 'no' to us other than resorting to kidnapping.

Who knows what goes on , the fact is that Ramsey was a totally ridiculous choice last season as caretaker , then to make him manager on a 3 year deal was ludicrous and that is why we are now where we are !

Whoever we get this time will be gone before the end of the season or in the summer and some people will post on this site that it was ridiculous giving him whatever contact he was given. I might just copy and paste comments from this thread onto that thread at that time to save us all time. Groundhog day!

The reason Paul Clement did not come here is because of the emotional connection he has with QPR. Football reasons do not come into it.

Yeah shame about Clement, even bigger shame we ended up with CR. Onwards and upwards. If its NW till the end of the season so be it. If its JFH he gets the rest of the season to make sure we stay up or finish mid table and next year maybe push on towards play offs possibly. Cant see Fer , Sandro , Charlie or Phillips being here in the summer so a bit more of a clear out. I think we could have done slightly better had they not given the three year deal to Ramsey but too late to worry now. Just want to start playing better and getting out this horrid run of the last 12 games, just 2 or 3 wins 11 points , it sucks. We are better than that. We we arent obviously though.

Although Clement last season was quoted as saying he did want to come manage QPR (but not before end of season) Oh well, he's gone now and looking to be doing a decent job, maybe can make a good number 1 . Sometimes they cant, Stewart Houston springs to mind . Mission one whoever is in charge is to stay up, with Leeds Reading Burnley and Brighton on the horizon, we might just get a bit lower than 15 th sadly.

I despair reading that we are going for another coach same ability as Ramsey, if the club have to employ a cheap coach/ manager then can't they just keep him as a coach under warnock? better still if no options available in market keep warnock till jan and see who comes available.

Radio 5 presenter just said, he's heard that senior players within QPR have made it known to the board that they want Blackwell and Warnock to stay.

Or maybe Kenny Jackett! www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-consider-move-for-wolves-manager-jackettQPR consider move for Wolves manager Jackett By David McIntyre 28/11/2015 jacketthasselbaink QPR are considering making an approach for Wolves manager Kenny Jackett. Rangers hope to appoint a new head coach before Thursday’s game at Reading and plan to ask Burton Albion for permission to speak to Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in the next 48 hours. They also look increasingly likely to make contact with Wolves over Jackett, who spent three years at Loftus Road as assistant manager under Ian Holloway. Jackett, 53, left QPR in 2004 – weeks before they clinched promotion to the Championship – to take over as Swansea manager. He later spent six years in charge at Millwall, winning promotion from the third tier, a feat he repeated at Wolves, who appointed him in 2013. Jackett’s assistant at Molineux is former QPR youth coach Joe Gallen, brother of former R’s forward Kevin and the current assistant first-team coach Steve. QPR director of football Les Ferdinand QPR director of football Les Ferdinand is overseeing the recruitment process Wolves, who finished seventh in the Championship last season, missing out on the play-offs on goal difference, were recently put up for sale by owner Steve Morgan. Former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink, 43, is keen to return to London and is desperate to land the job at Rangers, where Neil Warnock is currently in interim charge. Dutchman Hasselbaink, whose playing career also included spells at Leeds, Middlesbrough and Charlton, has spent a year as Burton boss. He previously spent a year as manager of Belgian club Royal Antwerp, where he rejected a new contract in order to pursue jobs in England. QPR co-chairman Ruben Gnanalingam Gnanalingam is set to meet Hasselbaink and perhaps Jackett next week Burton won the League Two title under Hasselbaink last season and are currently third in the League One table. He took over from Gary Rowett, who left to join Birmingham City and has been targeted by QPR and Fulham but looks likely to stay in the Midlands. Rangers have spoken to several out-of-work managers, including Chris Powell, who was recently sacked by Huddersfield, and remain in contact with other potential candidates. A number of other current Championship managers were also briefly considered, including MK Dons’ Karl Robinson, but QPR’s owners, who will make the final decision on an appointment, were unenthused. Hasselbaink is set to meet Ruben Gnanalingam next week when the Rangers co-chairman will be in London, by which time Jackett could also be very much in contention for the job.

Warnock in the dark Sky Sports Neil Warnock says he has been given no indication of whether QPR's 1-0 win against Leeds at Loftus Road is likely to be his final match in interim charge. Rangers are keen to appoint a new head coach before Thursday's game at Reading, with Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink currently the club's preferred choice. "We're now looking forward to the Reading game, but I can't tell you what will happen (before then)," said Warnock.
"I've not been involved in the process and I'm sure when there's something to tell me the owners will do so. At the moment I'm just trying to get smiles on people's faces."The Championship is a unique league, unlike any other league, but I'm sure they'll have taken quite a lot of things into consideration when looking for someone." Charlie Austin, who has been nursing a calf problem, scored with his first touch after coming on as a substitute. Rangers struggled to create chances before Austin's 58th-minute header from Alejandro Faurlin's corner - his eighth goal of the season and his team's first goal in five matches. "We haven't got a lot of goals in the squad, we know that," admitted Warnock, who gave a full debut to 20-year-old winger Michael Petrasso. "That's why I went with the team I did, moving Junior Hoilett inside and also bringing young Mikey in. "We knew Charlie couldn't play more than half an hour , but I always thought we were going to create chance for him. We know Charlie will always score goals. "He was really disappointed not to be involved at Middlesbrough last week and has enjoyed training this week." Leeds manager Steve Evans said he understood the frustration of his club's fans but insisted he will turn things around if he is able to make signings when the transfer window reopens in January. Evans was barracked by the travelling supporters and they again chanted for owner Massimo Cellino, who was at the game, to sell up. "It hurts, but they're entitled not to pull any punches. We were disappointing in every aspect of the team," Evans said. "We can't be waiting until the last 10 minutes to get the ball down and pass it and create chances. We're a long way short of where we need to be. "This is a famous football club that has had world-class stars. It's a privilege to represent this club and we need to show work-rate and desire. "I don't think we have that many good players and we certainly don't have many very good players at this level. "But when I get tools in my toolbox I'll be more than right to go to work. I'm convinced about that. "When there's freedom to sign players permanently I believe players will want to come to Leeds United. "Liam Bridcutt turned down other clubs because he wanted to play for Leeds and others will feel the same." www.sportinglife.com/football/live/match-reaction/339744/-

Its getting stupid now all this speculation. Hasselbaink one minute NW the next, now Jackett. But no mention of Pearson lately. Reckon we can rule him well out of the job.
Listening to what Warnock said though. It sounds like he wants the job.

Apparently spending loads of time to find the right appointment ...... Powell ... oh dear Jackett.... If you speak to Wolves fans they will say they threw it away at the end of last year and missed play offs and as my dad tells me weekly they are playing awful and going backwards this season, not forwards.
If I had to do an order of five... Miles in front is Pearson for me followed closely by Rowett. Then comes JFH
4 th would come Jackett and last Powell...
I would probably put Holloway before the last two.
I would have put Lambert in front of most of them.

That's what I thought...There was a piece last wk or 2 saying, he was on the verge of the sack... (which doesnt mean he shouldnt be at QPR...But it's what everyone says. He's not great. He's not terrible.

One thing you have to say is Warnock in 3-4 games has done a job Ramsey failed in 25 games or more. Sured the defence up. Should really have been three clean sheets on the trot. Need ro start scoring goals now Charlie is back and carry on playing Chery.

Lots of speculation most of which is probably totally inaccurate.
The only one I'd listen to out of that lot is McIntyre. Sounds like JFH is their boy according to him.
