Everything you see about Barton's "antics" is the antithesis of how you would imagine Mark Hughes - a highly, highly disciplined and controlled manager.... Whatever happens re Joey Barton's continued QPR existence, The idea of Barton as QPR Captain is now beyond a joke. That's an absolute no-brainer

Now off on His Hols! Bailed Barton: I'm going on holiday www.wicklowpeople.ie/breaking-news/sport/bailed-barton-im-going-on-holiday-3127292.htmlPremier League footballer Joey Barton is on his way to Portugal for a holiday after being released from police custody on Monday night following his arrest for affray. The Queens Park Rangers midfielder, 29, was involved in trouble in the early hours of Monday morning while on a night out with his girlfriend in Liverpool city centre. Two men were arrested at the scene, outside Garlands nightclub, and Barton and a 20-year-old man were arrested on Monday afternoon. All have been bailed. After his release, Barton said via Twitter: "Looking forward to Portugal now tomo. Bit of rest and lots of golf..." Two men, aged 21 and from the Old Swan area of Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of a public order offence at around 5.30am at the scene of the incident. Barton was released on bail on Monday night by Merseyside Police pending further inquiries. The three other men were bailed earlier. A statement from the force said: "Merseyside Police can confirm that the 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of affray has been released on bail pending further inquiries." Earlier on Monday, the Liverpool-born midfielder confirmed the incident by tweeting: "I got sucker punched in the back of the head. Not injured as reported just a small bruise on rear of head/ear. I've had worse. Life goes on! Thanks for the concern. Have a good day people." Later he tweeted: "Not planning on pressing charges as it's not that serious. The police have also got better things to do with their time. Can I just say a public thanks to the police last night as they were and have been today brilliant." A picture of the incident, apparently showing a shirtless Barton being held back by police and a woman, also began to circulate on Twitter. The player is under investigation by his club after he was given a 12-match ban by the Football Association. He was banned by English football's governing body after being sent off during QPR's defeat at Manchester City on the final day of the Premier League season. In a statement, QPR spokesman Ian Taylor said: "Barton was on his way home from a night out with his girlfriend when two men sang offensive chants and then proceeded to hit the QPR midfielder." www.wicklowpeople.ie/breaking-news/sport/bailed-barton-im-going-on-holiday-3127292.html

Or as Al Arabiya Headlines it! "Thug Barton released on bail after disorderly brawl" english.alarabiya.net/articles/2012/06/05/218696.htmlBarton will be released on bail after his fracas Barton will be released on bail after his fracas inShare By Al Arabiya QPR skipper, Joey Barton, has been released on Tuesday on bail after previously being arrested in the early hours of Monday for getting involved in an altercation with two men. Barton, a former Newcastle star, had decided to visit Garlands, a night club in Liverpool, with his girlfriend, Georgia McNeil, but as dawn broke was reported to be involved in a brawl. Merseyside police did confirm, however, that he had been arrested on suspicion of affray along with the two men opposing him. Although according to recent reports, the Merseyside police have come to a conclusion that he will be released on bail as a result of questioning. The news comes as a surprise considering that he has been detained for numerous reasons in the past. The most recent controversial event before the ‘early morning brawl’ was during the final match of the 2011-2012 English Premier League season. Video footage depicts an enraged Barton elbowing Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez, followed by kneeing his fellow Argentine compatriot Sergio Aguero and supposedly headbutting his counterpart, skipper Vincent Kompany. Although denying the evidence, he received a hefty 12 match ban and hit with a 75,000 British Pounds fine ($115125); implementing at the start of the new footballing season. However, his latest scandal has put his career with current club QPR in shadows. Reports suggest that QPR officials were unaware of the situation until late Monday night and now boss Mark Hughes is unimpressed with Barton’s personal life. Rumors are rife that QPR are prepared to terminate his contract and don’t want to risk the club being distracted with the Jordie’s nonsense anymore. Meanwhile, Barton’s life is in further turmoil as sources close to the player suggest he is considering deactivating his be-loved Twitter account. Barton has a long history on the social networking site so deciding to be rid of it also comes as a significant surprise. (Written by Matthew Bolton)

Newcastle residents take umbrage at being called Jordies! ;-)
Maybe Barton has been given enough rope to hang himself with, metaphorically speaking?

O wonder what is going through the boards and MH's mind with all this I expect Hughes is hoping this can lead to a legal temination of his contract. The board probably feel the same way.

He wont be going anywhere , Barton is constantly sucking up to all the QPR board! Maybe if he didnt act like a clown on the pitch and constantly insult people on twitter he wouldnt bring so much on to himself. Although you cant condone incidents like this if he was set on , unprovoked, nobody deserves that!

I think the only way he stays at QPR is if the club is unable to get rid of him/pay him off. Whatever he contributes to the club is far outweighed by all the other baggage - on and off the field - and what he "does" to the "brand." This is not a George Best situation - or even on a microscale - Taarabt, in our promotion season - when what he brings to the team outweighs the baggage

But who knows! The Sun They think it’s brawl over Joey axe threat after bar fight By PAUL JIGGINS Published: 5 minutes ago JOEY BARTON faces the sack at QPR — if he is found guilty of brawling in the street. Related Stories RED MIST ... QPR's Joey Barton is restrained after dismissal against Man City Barton’s QPR future in doubt JOEY BARTON’S Hoops career thrown into more confusion after yesterday’s arrest Joey Barton attacked Follow The Sun on Twitter And that would save Rangers £11million. The controversial skipper has been bailed after he was arrested following a fight outside a Liverpool nightclub. The incident in the early hours of Monday has not gone down well with the Hoops hierarchy. They are already conducting a probe into the star’s behaviour after the FA hit him with 12-match ban and a £75,000 fine for his red card in their final game of the season at Manchester City. The Loftus Road chiefs were told by the club’s lawyers they would not be able to sack the bad-boy midfielder unless they were willing to cough up a whopping £11m to pay up the remainder of his £70,000-a-week contract. That is because a player cannot be sacked for getting a suspension — even one like Barton’s. But it is believed Rangers would be able to sack the star without having to pay him a penny IF he is found guilty in court. That would be deemed as “gross misconduct” and a breach of his contract, which has rules on how players are expected to behave off the pitch. Barton, 29, was arrested on suspicion of affray on Monday night. It followed a 5.30am brawl outside the Garlands nightclub in Liverpool. Barton, who is from city, was released after questioning by detectives. He claimed on Twitter that two men sang offensive chants at him and then punched him. His arrest came after two 21-year-old men were detained on suspicion of public order offences. A 20-year-old man was also later arrested in connection with the incident. All three have been bailed along with Barton, who jetted off to Portugal on holiday yesterday. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4356389/Joey-Barton-axe-threat-after-bar-fight.html

Speaking of www.people.co.uk/sport/football/news/2012/06/10/joey-barton-skips-coaching-lesson-to-play-golf-102039-23893633/PEOPLE Joey Barton skips coaching lesson to play golf Jun 10 2012 By Alan Nixon Joey Barton JOEY BARTON wants to be a coach when he hangs up his boots - but skipped his first lesson to play golf! People Sport can reveal the fiery midfielder has applied for a place on an Irish FA course to do his UEFA B licence. An Irish FA spokesman confirmed QPR captain Barton had been due to join its course. He said: "Joey... was ready to enrol. But we learned recently that he would not be coming". It is understood that the player is in Portugal playing golf. Barton has often been outspoken and yesterday he took to Twitter to criticise England coach Roy Hodgson, who has included Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, Stewart Downing, Glen Johnson, Jordan Henderson and Martin Kelly in his Euro 2012 squad - despite the Merseyside club's disappointing season. "If Henderson got in, any Englishman not currently in the squad has to feel aggrieved. Yes, I wish I was there," he added. "Liverpool have horrific season and have six players in our euro squad. "What chance do we have? Pick on form. How Holt, Richards, Carrick, Ferdinand, Osman, Sturridge etc never got involved is a travesty ..."
