If you'd prefer Gianni's... It's a (little ad-hoc) for number of posts/managerial designation... So move up to Venables, Jago, Mullery, Sexton, Stock, etc (ok perhaps one of these names is incorrect!).

Around Sep / Oct 1976 for me - so nearly 35 years service from me. Not bad for somebody who have yet to see QPR play in the flesh and in living in a country where we barely rate a mention.

The first game I attended was QPR vs Preston in 1979 when I was 6 years old. My Dad and his dad (who died before I was born) grew up in Shepherds Bush/Hammersmith and are/were life long Rangers fans. One-all, Preston scored in the first half, QPR equalised in the second. I remember the game lasting *hours*. I guess six year olds have shorter attention spans... So if we say that game was the start of my support, I've been a fan for 32 years....wow! I wonder how many managers that's been...

The most euphoric Rangers moment of my 42 years as a hoop? Clive Allen's goal at Highbury in the semi final in '82.
Worst moment? Martyn Busby's broken leg at Craven Cottage. Sickening.
Most amusing? Rodney catching the ball and crashing it in the net v Villa circa 1969. Captain Venables gave him a real telling off, we went on to win 4-2.
Best team performance: 5-2 win over Slovan Bratislava in 76/77. Great atmosphere that night. They had the nucleus of the Czechoslovakian national side that won the Euro Nations Cup a few months before.

Since March 1974. Televised games from England to Scandinavia was a weekly business which got me hooked. Then I discovered Mr. Bowles. Then I realised that we had the greatest shirts ever made, then... First game in HQ: Liverpool, October 1983.

Woe! Just realised it was either Arsenal (who we beat 2-0) or Coventry (who we beat 3-0).
Now I'm pretty sure I remember the score as being a 2-0 win - and probably explains why I so easily "forgot" the opposition - coz I totally HATED Arsenal back then but ...
Of all the ironies or ironies, my first-ever QPR game appears to have been against Arsenal AND I'M NOW MARRIED TO A GOONER !!!!
Flippin' Nora - fact is wayyyyyyyyy stranger than fiction ;-)

My first memory was from 1947 standing in the kids pen behind the goal front of the loft, with Frank Neary hitting the back of the net and the ball finishing two inches from my face.
I'm proud to confess at being to see us at our lowest home gate and our biggest at Wembley.
Years later game after game watching from the South Africa Road "embankment" and moving to the other end at half time to follow the attack.
Refeshments were Percy Daltons peanuts "tanner a bag" being sold from a sack by someone who paid to get in, leaving the terraces littered with shells.
My family are in the fifth generation for supporting the Rs, my Grandfather being the first who spoke of helping to carry the posts to where ever we were playing in our Nomadic days.
We hope but not always expect, but when our hopes are realised they become all the more sweeter.
So many treasured memories.

Great post Kewgreen, please share your memories and opinions. I personally love reading about charactors and events from games prior to my start in 1975.

First got dragged along in September 1972 by my Dad. I was too young to remember that game. I have hazy memories of the 75/76 campaign but can vividly remember the home UEFA game v Brann. 1st evening game I was allowed to go to! Great night.

Started going to Rangers in 1978 when I attended at Sir Christopher Wren School. Born in Notting Hill and raised in Hammersmith. Once in the armed forces I went to as many games as I could and still do although being in Liverpool now it is somewhat hard. Not many Rangers up here but I wear my top with pride in any scouse boozer..........always get positive remarks.
