45 years for me, went to games b4 that, but not till we signed a certain R. Marsh then i was hooked...........line and sinker.

My first two games were at home against Oldham & Workington Town, in 66-67 season, so that's 44 years for me.
Can't say I have cherished EVERY moment but Christ knows I have enjoyed the ride, and SO many fond memories that I sometimes sit and remember over a bottle of claret!
Just wish I could find a fellow supporter down here in Kent to both travel with, and meet up and talk over the past.. and exciting future.

Ive been following the r,s since 77 so a mere 33 years but my dad les has followed them since 48 so thats 62 years!! He is in his 80,s now been through a heart attack, bowl Cancer and losing his beloved wife 5 years ago. But through all this he has mantained his love of the r,s! Thanks dad for introduction to the hoops!

One of my first games I watched the r'sss was at chelsea when Derek Richardson made his debut in goal back in 1978,we won 3-1 with Martyn Busby scoring twice

New poster here, hello everyone. I'm 59 now, my first R's game was their first win in the first division (2-1 v Ipswich) where I believe we scored in the first minute. (Seems to be a theme going there). I was mates with Ian Watson's brother and I went along mainly to see Ian play. I was hooked from that first match, became a season ticket holder in following seasons and despite my job moving me up north, have seen the R's many times and hope to continue.

Hi ive supported qpr since 1982 unfortunately that year wasnt too good lol,had supported different clubs till then,and then i liked the look of qpr,and that was that.I went on on saturday against Cardiff,and it was the best atmosphere ive known since going,the cardiff fans doing their bit too,it was a great game,if you were a neutral you,d agree.I genuinely believe after that game,we could whispers it lol win promotion,i for one will be in s bush,white city area may 8th,when hopefully that happens,tc all u rrrrrrrrrrs

Started supporting the R's in 77 so that puts me at 33 years too! Bit scary that. Got bought a qpr video a few years back called 'the pain and the glory' and that just about sums it up. Painful to watch at times, frustrating in the extreme to watch incompetant chairmen etc ruining the club you love but the very occasional success seems to make it worthwhile. I suppose all the shit makes the good times seem better.

I'm a glory hunter from the '75/76 season........., QPR were the first 'proper' football team I saw play - we beat Arsenal at Loftus Road 2-1, it still is one of the best days of my life

I chose the R's for all the wrong reasons. Normally the reasons that people choose Man Utd. I didn't live anywhere near them but they were top of the league with a cool name and even cooler kit. That was enough for me in 1976 when I was 4. In the years that followed they got under my skin, on my nerves, up my nose but most crucially in my heart and I know I'll never be able to do anything about it.

I went to the Milk Cup Final which is almost 25 years ago, then not suprisingly after seeing that as a 7 year old, I spent the next few years "flirting" with the likes of Liverpool ( every 7 year old in the country supported Liverpool in 1986 ) & Palace ( local team ) by the start of the nineties I realised I was QPR & put the flirting to bed & started going down QPR, best football I've ever seen at QPR was in 1993 & 1994, we are not as good as that now, but not a million miles off, people forget how good the likes of Sir Les, Ray Wilkins, Sinton, Bardsley & wilson really were, Matador football & Loftus Road was really great back then when ou could walk through from the east paddock in to the Loft, great times, football is just not as good as that anymore. |

1960-61, so a mere boy really. Remember the 7-0 against Barry Town, and the 9-2 was in my first season - but I don't remember it! Remember Bury 3-0 (they went up) but the Club history says it was 3-1!
As for the 9-2, either I just took it for granted we were that good, or I started coming a little later that season, as it was early on if I remember. I did see Hibs beat St Johnstone 9-2 at Easter Road, so that'll do! (My friend moved up there decades ago and we used to go and see the Hibees).
Anyone else remember the surface which ran round the ground inside the gates. It looked like small pieces of black anthracite, but was probably cinder of some description.
The chap who sat behind us more recently started supporting the Club in the 1930s.
We really are quite a different animal to anyone else in the game, players, managers, directors. And because we're correspondingly hard to understand, the Club is correspondingly hard to understand too.
That Arsenal game had atmosphere. Didn't we get a penalty late on, scored by the indomitable Gerry Francis? Well, he was until he got that injury.

Supporting Rangers is masochistic, we love them even more when they are hopeless, Manchester United fans will never experience the depth of emotion & feeling, depression, frustration that we have all experience over the years. I know posts often come over wrong, but I ask this because i'm interested, I am NOT having a dig at ANYONE!  What exactly does being a supporter mean? Is it living abroad & keeping updated? someone who likes QPR but doesn't go? Or are you asking people who go to QPR on a regular basis & are staunch fans- home & away? Sorry guys, but because of mainly MAN UTD ' fans' who think living in London, shouting at sky tv & buying a shirt & wouldn't even find Manchester if they had an RAC rally map reader with them (And who's Dad's all wore Liverpool shirts before them!) Makes it hard to clarify exactly what a supporter is anymore!!! I think 'liking QPR' & being a supporter are very different. Because of Rodney, I ' Like' the Rowdies, but I can't support them as they are in America!!!!! You get my drift P.S. When we are promoted.... lets all meet up & paint the town in HOOPS!!!! Ingham I remember the loose cinder inside the ground they used it to cover up the mud.
