Gramps, one thing I've noticed about imported players is that they are light years ahead of British born players in terms of technical ability and looking comfortable on the ball.
You pay a third of the price of a British player and, more often than not, you get guys who can actually pass the ball, retain possession and dribble past defenders.
Prem is full of these type of players from abroad. Look at what kind of homegrown talent we produce in return. Michael Carrick, Ashley Young and Stewart Downing. And look how much they cost!

Diakite , dont know about him , not sure if we shouldnt be going for people used to our League but as its a loan , got about 14 games to look at him so nothing really lost! . Cisse flying in for medical Lazio striker understood to be travelling to London Last Updated: January 30, 2012 9:00pm Sky Sports sources understand that Djibril Cisse is travelling to England on Monday night ahead of a potential move to Queens Park Rangers. Mark Hughes earlier revealed that QPR were in talks with Lazio over a deal for the striker after identifying him as a transfer target. The Rs manager is looking to bring in reinforcements before Tuesday's deadline, particularly in attacking areas as he looks to guide the club away from Premier League trouble. Cisse has experience of English football from his time with Liverpool and has found it difficult to show his best form for Lazio since joining the Serie A club from Panathinaikos last summer. He penned a four-year deal with Lazio at the time but it now appears they are ready to let him leave and sources in Italy understand he is on his way to London. The 30-year-old is expected to undergo a medical with QPR on Tuesday before possibly clinching a move to Loftus Road www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7466887/
