Queens Park Rangers are set to sign Samba Diakite from Nancy and could make another late raid on French football, according to The Times. QPR reportedly watched Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud and are considering a late bid.

sorry but is Diakite a midfielder of a striker ? sky says hes a mikdfielder but BBC reckon hes a forward........or better still is he 'lethal' in both positions  !!! |

He was listed earlier this morning as a midfielder on the Nancy website. Funnily enough he is no longer listed as part of their squad, I guess no smoke without fire...... |

Olivier Giroud rumour on SSN just now, sounds like a good bet in that he's about the only striker we've been linked to who is actually having a good season and scoring goals!!

The Girould rumour is a very exciting one although last summer Arsenal were supposedly interested and his club put a £40m price tag on him. That was only rumours though.

Assuming we have signed this Diakite bloke (not off yet). Is anyone worried this bloke cant speak a word of english?? Playing in the center of the park is all about communication. I think we are looking to sign to many overseas players.

I share that concern. BUT, given that Mark Hughes is making the signings - and not having a bunch of disparate players imposed on him - have to assume he knows what he's doing/feels can handle this, etc... Trust in Hughes
