I can't imagine Tony Fernades being able to get any players from West Ham, just out of spite, if nothing else.

Fulham slap £15m price tag on star striker's head Published 22:55 19/11/11 By Dean Jones Fulham are slapping a massive £15million price-tag on Bobby Zamora’s head. The club fear he is going to look for a move away from Craven Cottage this winter and QPR are very keen to sign him. Hoops boss Neil Warnock will sign a big name striker in January and Zamora is a top target, along with Chelsea’s Nicolas Anelka. Zamora made his full international debut for England in midweek and is contracted to Fulham until 2014. Crap I told Tony to tell Sir Neil to sign Zamora now they want 15 mill. I blame myself. Sorry.

I think Warnock understands that for QPR to displace Chelsea as top London club, we (once again) need more England players than they have, and preferably the England Captain in our side.
No, I don't want Terry anywhere near Loftus Rd. Beckham would be a huge plus, but we won't get him. Could Barton Captain England? Maybe, one day. But not under Capello.

Dave McIntyre/West London Sport - QPR eye non-League prospect Chambers QPR are monitoring Dulwich Hamlet defender Michael Chambers – a 17-year-old who only made his first-team debut a month ago and has already attracted serious interest from Manchester United. Several other Premier League clubs are aware of the highly-rated centre-back, who caught the eye with his performances as Hamlet’s youth-team captain. He has continued to impress since recently being promoted to the Ryman League club’s senior side and Rangers are considering making an offer for him in January. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-monitor-non-league-prospect-being-eyed-by-manchester-united/

Clive Allen on Talksport today !
Clive Allen insists Jermain Defoe will have a part to play for Tottenham this season – but admits it’s going to be difficult for the striker to force his way into the side. The former West Ham and Portsmouth star has found himself out of favour at White Hart Lane following the arrival of the on-loan Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.
Defoe, who has lost his place in the England squad as a result, is being linked with a move away from north London in January but Allen, part of Harry Redknapp’s backroom staff, says he still has a role to play. “ We know the quality Jermain has. He’s a fantastic player and goalscorer and he’ll certainly play his part ”
Allen told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “Jermain has been very unfortunate. He came for back pre-season looking sharp and in good shape. But Harry has made his decisions in terms of who has been playing and the results been fantastic. “It’s a nice problem to have, but we know the quality Jermain has. He’s a fantastic player and goalscorer and he’ll certainly play his part.”
It’s the form of Adebayor that has been keeping Defoe on the subs’ bench, and Allen insists the former Arsenal man has been a huge success story since arriving from the Etihad Stadium. There are question marks about whether Spurs will be able to afford to turn the deal into a permanent one because of the Togo striker’s £170,000 a week wage packet, but Allan admits everyone at the club is just glad to have him around.
He added: “I’m not sure what the long-term situation is. He’s here with us this season and he’s been a breath of fresh air. “He’s got a smile on face, he's enjoying his football and loving the way the team is playing. It’s good to see him in such good form and enjoying himself.”

EXCLUSIVE: Defoe fears for Euro 2012 place
He hit five goals for the reserves on Tuesday, yet still cannot get into Tottenham's red-hot first team.
And Jermain Defoe has revealed there is a familiar feeling around the north Londoners’ camp after they leapfrogged Newcastle and Chelsea into third place this week.
“It feels just like the last time we finished in the top four,” the striker told the Mirror. “There is the same buzz around the place. It's not arrogance. It's the same confidence.
“Every game we go into, we respect our opponents but we have the belief in our own ability that we can get the result we want. We just want to keep that going.
“It must be great to watch. The way the lads move the ball, the energy in the team. Even if we miss chances the manager knows we will create more.
“I’ve seen all the talk about the title and nobody is saying we are definitely going to do that. Manchester City have got fantastic players and Manchester United have seen it all before.
“But we are there in third place and if the top two slip up, you never know what could happen.”
With eight wins and a draw from their last nine games, Harry Redknapp’s men are enjoying their best start to a season since 1966-67 (assuming three points for a win).
It is also the fifth time that Spurs have won eight of their first 11 top-flight matches, and on each of the previous occasions, they finished in the top four.
Defoe added, however: “You have to respect the other teams. Chelsea still have fantastic players and will bounce back.
“Arsenal are proving to everyone who doubted them what a great team they are.
"And Liverpool are putting in some quality performances. There is a long way to go and a lot of football to be played.”
Defoe himself is champing at the bit to play a bigger part in the club’s bid to break back into the big time with boss Harry Redknapp preferring Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart.
Defoe made his 100th appearance as substitute in Monday night’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
The England striker then turned out for the stiffs the following day to hit those five goals against Charlton to show he still knows where the goal is.
“It was nice to show that I’ve still got the right attitude," said Defoe. "If I am needed I want to be ready.”
Spurs coach Clive Allen has told talkSPORT that Defoe can take a bigger hand in the club’s quest for success.
Allen said: “Jermain has been very unfortunate. He came for back pre-season looking sharp and in good shape. But Harry has made his decisions in terms of who has been playing and the results been fantastic.
“It’s a nice problem to have, but we know the quality Jermain has. He’s a fantastic player and goal-scorer and he’ll certainly play his part.”
That is music to the ears of the England striker, who admits he is concerned about missing out on next summer’s European Championship.
He added: “The manager and his staff have always been supportive and they’ve said I’ve just been unlucky as the team is playing so well.
“I can’t just tell the manager to change a winning team just for me. I know that. The lads have been brilliant. But I am fit, sharp and ready if I am called upon.
“I’m 29. I know that the reason I have been left out of the last few England squads is that I have not been starting for my club.
“Darren Bent has been playing regularly for Aston Villa and Danny Welbeck has been playing for Manchester United. So they are getting picked ahead of me.
Defoe’s response to being omitted from the last squad by Fabio Capello was another trip to France to work with 70-year-old fitness expert Tiberius Darau.
The Frenchman, recommended by Ian Wright, once worked with Arsenal and Defoe spent the summer with him.
Defoe said: “I won’t lie, I am worried about not going to the European Championship. I want to give myself every chance.
"It feels already a little bit like the 2005-06 season, when I scored a lot of goals but didn’t start a lot of matches.
“I ended up not going to the World Cup and I don’t want that to happen again.
"I believe [that] if I am playing, I have got a real chance of going to the Euros. But I’m going to bide my time.”
Defoe last started a Premier League game against Arsenal on October 2.
He has since come off the bench to score against Newcastle and Fulham, and has played home and away against Rubin Kazan in the Europa League.
QPR boss Neil Warnock is understood to have identified him as the top-quality finisher he is hunting to get the goals which will keep the club in the top flight.
Defoe said: “Fans who have probably read things come up to me every day and say, ‘Don’t leave the club.’ I was at a charity dinner the other night when a fan came up and said it to me.
“I’ve done it before - when I went to Portsmouth and scored my goals to remind people what I can do - but I am committed to Tottenham. I love the club and I love the fans.
“Its a really important time for the club. Everyone wants to play their part and I’m no different

Spurs will NOT sell Defoe in January insists Redknapp Harry Redknapp has insisted Jermain Defoe will not be sold in the January transfer window after a heart-to-heart with the England striker. Defoe has been frozen out of the starting 11 this season with Redknapp preferring to partner Rafael van der Vaart and Emmanuel Adebayor up front. Spurs can't afford to buy Adebayor in the summer.
I believe he's on £170k a week. Spurs top earner is on £70k a week. (VDV). Basically, Man City are still paying him £100k a week to play for Spurs. Its a ludicrous situation really.
However, that'd probably explain why Spurs would be reluctant to sell Defoe in January, if indeed they are planning on keeping him.
They'll either have to buy somebody else or play Defoe again when Adebayor goes.

Guardian Tottenham's Jermain Defoe will not be sold in January – Harry Redknapp • 'I wouldn't sell him, he is a fantastic player' • No reason why he should not be in Capello's squad reddit this David Hytner guardian.co.uk, Friday 25 November 2011 14.14 EST Article history Jermain Defoe has found it hard to muscle his way into the Tottenham starting lineup. Photograph: Andrew Couldridge/Action Images Harry Redknapp has said he will not sell Jermain Defoe in January and has met the striker to reassure him he will have a part to play for Tottenham Hotspur over the remainder of the season. Defoe has grown frustrated at his inability to command a regular place in Redknapp's strongest team; the form of Rafael van der Vaart and the summer loan signing Emmanuel Adebayor has pressed him to the fringes. Defoe is a notoriously impatient watcher from the sidelines and his mood has alerted other clubs, chief among them Queens Park Rangers, who sense the opportunity to land a proven goalscorer when the winter transfer window opens. Although the 29-year-old has started only eight matches in all competitions this season and made a further six appearances as a substitute, he has contributed six goals and, according to Redknapp, who has previously managed him at West Ham United and Portsmouth, remains a valuable player. Defoe offered a reminder of his prowess on Tuesday when he scored five times in the 6-1 training ground friendly win over Charlton Athletic, another of his former clubs. Such is his luck at present, though, that he now has a slight groin problem, which makes him a doubt for the Premier League visit to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, just as Van der Vaart is struggling with a hamstring injury. "I wouldn't sell him, he is a fantastic player," Redknapp said. "In midweek, he scored five goals against Charlton. They were incredible finishes. He is a top player. He has just been unlucky. Adebayor came in and has done great up front and Rafa has been in fantastic form. I had a chat with Jermain in the week. Rafa is struggling with a hamstring and Jermain has a tight groin this weekend, but he will get his opportunities when he is fit and I am sure he will take them." Defoe is worried that he may miss out on Fabio Capello's England squad for the Euro 2012 finals at the end of the season; he has not played a competitive game for his country since September 2010 and he was left out of the squad for the friendlies against Spain and Sweden. Redknapp, though, is confident Defoe will make the cut and challenge for the vacancy created by Wayne Rooney's suspension during the group stage. "I don't pick the squad, that's up to Fabio Capello, but Jermain is a top-class striker so there is no reason why he shouldn't be in the squad," Redknapp said. "He is up there. Rooney is top-class and after that, it's a very difficult one. We have four or five strikers and there isn't much to choose between them." Tottenham's strength in depth was illustrated against Charlton when William Gallas, Sébastien Bassong, Sandro, Steven Pienaar and Giovani dos Santos also started and the squad will travel to The Hawthorns buoyed by their outstanding recent results. The home win over Aston Villa on Monday meant that they had taken 25 points from an available 27 to sit third in the table. "We have just got to keep our feet on ground and try to keep on picking up results," Redknapp said. "I have never been to West Brom and had an easy game." www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/25/tottenham-jermain-defoe-harry-redknapp?newsfeed=true

Harry fears for fringe players Spurs boss eager to retain squad players in January Last Updated: November 29, 2011 4:04pm
Harry Redknapp: Keen to retain fringe players when the transfer window reopens
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is worried he might lose some of his fringe players in January as they are keen to play first-team football. The Spurs boss has a vast squad at his disposal at White Hart Lane and a number of non-regulars have grown unhappy at their situations.
Vedran Corluka has joined Sebastien Bassong, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Heurelho Gomes in declaring his wish to leave in the New Year.
Striker Jermain Defoe has also been linked with a move to QPR after falling behind on-loan Manchester City hit-man Emmanuel Adebayor in the pecking order.
Redknapp is keen to retain as many players as possible, stating unless he can bring in a replacement then no one will be leaving the North London club.
Difficult "It's difficult because the players want to play. You won't keep them happy [if they're not]. You just hope you can convince them [to stay]," he said.
"You want to keep them happy and onside. We need them. We're going to need a big squad and unless you can get a replacement, you can't afford to let people go.
"We need that strength in depth, especially if we stay in the Europa League."
Tottenham tackle Greek side PAOK in the Europa League on Wednesday and Redknapp admits it is a must-win game following their 1-0 defeat by Rubin Kazan.
"It is a must-win game. We are a point behind PAOK. You can see Rubin beating Shamrock, so we need to win," he continued.
"We don't want to go to the last game because Rubin could rest players for the last game and they will have already qualified.
"But that doesn't change what team I'd put out. I'd have made 11 changes to the team but Pavlyuchenko tweaked his knee (on Monday) quite badly, so Jermain Defoe might have to play."
