Hogan deserves his chance. I thought he was great for us last season and I can't believe he wasn't in our 25 man squad. Give him a run out on Saturday.

The Mail story linking Alex with Santos is rubbish (at the moment) but there are links with Gremio, Internacional and (god forbid) Palmeiras. Given the choice of those three or us then he would have to come to LR Doesn't the upswing in the Brazilian economy mean that teams can afford higher wages? I guess he'd be on £30K+ with us All depends on which Club and what player at the moment and of those mentioned then only Gremio would be in a position to pay the big wages. As for recent reports in the Mail linking him with Corinthians - they are totally unfounded and it wont happen. Its not even on the radar according to the club when I was picking up my Libertadores tickets today.

The Portuguese league is riddled with fantastic Brazilians that I'd never heard of

Watching the Corinthians Under 20's win 9-0 yesterday two to watch are definitely Leandro and Matheus who scored a couple each. OF the seniors the Portuguese Liedson is getting on a bit now but a great player. If the latest bid for Tevez goes through seeing the two link up this year will be heaven.

Don't agree on Alex as he's better than Upson. Tomkins is OK but young and inexperienced. Don't think much of Collins.

or Da Silva! I shall keep you updated.
And in reply to hitman: I dont think you find Alex is wanting to come home just yet, unless ALL the Brasilian newspapers have got it wrong. He hasnt hinted at it and no club here has made any offers as yet.

Alex is a great CB and if you look at stats, Chelsea actually concede less when he is in the team. He is only getting chucked out of Chelsea because of AVB and his new 'style' at Chelsea. Spurs and Newcastle want Tomkins and I very much doubt Gold and Sullivan would do business with TF anyway. Upson is massively overrated and did nothing to keep West Ham up last season. Also Onouha's mother will hopefully pull through her Cancer and I reckon that deal is a very strong possibility.

Sadly NW is not the best judge of strikers, I hope like the rest of us that he picks well this time. Although there are question marks at the mo.
Last chance saloon NW please get it right.

Opinions on AJ?? Personally I think he used to be pretty good but is now made of glass and past it. Not exactly over the moon & besides myself with excitement if that is who we are going for, he was sensational for a season or two with palace, but that was a long time ago now. Random fact once I was in the queue at Waitrose and I looked behind me & Andrew Johnson was standing behind me holding a four pint plastic pot of milk, unbeknown to him he had spilled some milk all over his £200 Maharishi combats, I was going to point this out to him, but I decided against it.

I'd agree, give him a game on saturday, but the league stuff is too important now, I like him as a player, but he needs to be playing football now, I think Championship level is probably right for him, why not go to Millwall or Palace on loan ? it would be good for him.

I can't find the link now, but I saw we were linked to Mikael Silvestre who plays for Werder Bremen, is he any good? For God's sake ............... NO! The bloke was 34 last August! We talk about Shaun Derry losing his legs and being almost over the hill and he is two months younger than Silvestre. I for one will be very unhappy if money is wasted there.

Bridge target for new London loan move Published 22:30 05/01/12 By Martin Lipton
. QPR are keen to land Manchester City’s former England left-back Wayne Bridge on loan until the end of the season.
The ex-Chelsea defender has barely played for City since returning from last season’s loan spell at West Ham, whom he failed to help stay in the top flight.

Bridge is not the answer. Been rubbish for years now and did nothing to keep West Ham up.

Those articles about us only getting loans seem to be coming together though Rory.
Wolves and Baggies battling over striker Mirror . West Brom boss Roy Hodgson is trying to beat local rivals Wolves in the race for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard.
Hodgson has offered the Robins a choice of swaps for £1.5million-rated Maynard who will be sold because he refuses to sign a long-term deal.
Albion are prepared to let City chief Derek McInnes choose between strikers Chris Wood and Simon Cox in exchange for Maynard.
Wolves are hoping to sign Maynard for under £1m, but McInnes is more enthusiastic about an exchange and a ready-made replacement.

If Harry gets Samba and Hoilett , will hurt Blackburn .
Redknapp lines up £12m double swoop
. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is planning a £12million double Spurs' shock title charge.
Redknapp has received the green light from chairman Daniel Levy to improve his squad after the club's superb first half of the season.
And he is looking to take advantage of Blackburn’s financial woes to get powerful centre-half Samba and elusive winger Hoilett on the cheap from the Ewood Park strugglers.
Redknapp has identified 27-year-old Samba as the perfect man to beef up his back four, where skipper Ledley King is fighting a constant battle for fitness and William Gallas and Michael Dawson are also struggling with injuries.
