Hammers struggling to nail down Cole on new contract
West Ham could face a battle to keep Carlton Cole in January.
The England striker is due for new deal talks at the Boleyn, with several Premier League clubs monitoring developments should he become available.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to keep the 28 year old to help push their promotion campaign but knows there is growing interest from Newcastle, Sunderland and Aston Villa.

One thing that worries me about Jelavic is that he cant get in Croatia team to start as Klasnic keeps him out , what has Klasnic done in the Prem ? 38 games 11 goals , equates to 11 in a season roughly and Jelavic could be worse , i'm not 100% convinced , would rather Defoe loan , Hooper permant or maybe Zamora even ?

think its a zamora jelavic double act. but id rather an english name as well, not keen on those little known eastern european guys in the strikers role. for example, what about that giant that birmingham brought, blokes toilet.

Don't worry. I expect Jelavic will go to Sunderland (O'Neill is a big fan).
Once there he will probably be a revelation and score lots of goals and everyone on here will be weeping and wailing about why we couldn't sign a striker like that!

International fixtures and league games are two completely different monsters. Just look at Crouch's success for England compared to the league, and Defoe/Bent for England/in the Premiership. We're not going to be linked with a striker who's been on better form - 28 goals in 43 games is highly impressive for any league. At 26, and with the 6'2 physique to withstand the physicality of the Premier League, I don't think we'll be able to attract anyone better And I'd bet we're going for Jelavic and Zamora

Fair points about the international thing accepted , all i'm really suggesting is it better we get players in already adapted to the Prem . Scottish Prem a little one sided but if i'm convinced Hooper is the part which i am , then no reason Jelavic should be any different as hes hitting the same amount of goals as Hooper in that League . If he turns out to be a flop , will post told you so Never seen the Alex link until you mention it BP.

Spurs, QPR and Fulham on alert over Amauri -
Tottenham, QPR and Fulham are on red alert after Juventus striker Amauri revealed he will leave the club in January.
The Brazilian-born but Italian nationalised striker has fallen so far out of favour in Turin that he has yet to start a league game this season.
All three London clubs are thought to be interested in Amauri's services although the player himself has said he'd prefer to stay in Italy.
"I know in recent weeks offers have come from both Italy and from abroad," Amauri told La Stampa Click here to find out more!
"I would prefer to stay in Italy, because the national team is still a dream and being here I have more possibilities.
"But one thing is for certain: in January I’m going to play. It’s not a question of money, it’s a question of the length of the contract.
"At 31-years-old it will be the last contract of my life and I have always asked for a three-year deal, partly because I think I can still play three seasons at a high level."

To sign both would cost about £16m or more so I doubt it. I would take Carlton Cole if he was going cheaply.

Macheda set for QPR Italian unlikely to join Wigan, according to agent
Manchester United striker Federico Macheda is 95 per cent certain to join Queens Park Rangers on loan in January, according to his agent.
The Italian has made just six appearances in Sir Alex Ferguson's first team this season and has been linked with a move to Wigan in the January transfer window.
But Macheda's representative, Giovanni Bia, believes the current possibilities are either for a loan switch to QPR until the end of the season or to stay at United.
Bia told skysports.com: "There was nothing concrete with Wigan. The club closer to Macheda is QPR.
"I think at 95 per cent that Macheda will go to London, because he needs to play, and this is the only suggestion of a transfer to date.
"He'll go on a simple loan for six months, because Sir Alex Ferguson believes in him and wants to take him back to United at the end of the season.
"The other five per cent of chance is that Macheda stays in Manchester."

So I will now admit we will probably sign Bobby Zamora, which pains me because I don't rate him at all. I reckon we will get one out of Maynard or Macheda to accompany him.

QPR weigh up January move for Manchester City outcast Bridge By SAMI MOKBEL Last updated at 12:06 AM on 31st December 2011 Queens Park Rangers are considering giving Wayne Bridge a route out of his Manchester City nightmare. Manager Neil Warnock is looking to recruit a left back as Armand Traore is set to miss a significant part of next month to join up with Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations. Warnock believes signing Bridge could be the answer and may make a bid when the January transfer window opens. The former England full back, 31, is still trying to negotiate a severance package with City to ensure his release as a free agent next month — which could pave the way for a move. But Rangers would not be prepared to take on all of Bridge’s £95,000-per-week wages and negotiating a suitable pay package would be a key to any deal taking place. Arsenal are also keen on Bridge as they look for a short-term solution to their left-back problem, with Andre Santos and Kieran Gibbs both out injured. Bridge has made just one appearance for City this season, in the Carling Cup. In an exclusive interview with Sportsmail last week, Bridge spoke of his frustration at City, claiming communication with manager Roberto Mancini had all but broken down. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4029382/QPR-line-up-Alex-Josh-McEachran-and-Andy-Johnson.htmlNEIL WARNOCK is set to launch a £10million raid on West London rivals Chelsea and Fulham. The QPR boss wants to buy Blues' transfer-listed defender Alex and get midfielder Josh McEachran on loan. Warnock is also close to sealing a £2m deal for Fulham's Andy Johnson, offering the striker a £50,000-a-week deal. Blackburn defender Christopher Samba and Manchester United striker Federico Macheda are also targets. A top QPR source confirmed: "Neil will make bids for Alex, AJ and Samba and wants Macheda and McEachran on loan. "He believes if he can get three or four of those names on his wish list then we will have a great chance of staying up."

Warnock expects busy window QPR manager looking to freshen up 'small squad' Last Updated: December 31, 2011 6:57pm

Neil Warnock: Hoping to have a new signing in place as early as Monday .Sky BetSky Bet are offering all new customers a £10 Completely Free Bet Claim your free bet now ....QPR manager Neil Warnock hopes to be active in the transfer window after targeting up to four new players in January.
The Rangers boss is looking to do business as early as Monday as he bids to bolster his squad.
Warnock saw his side go down to a single Robin van Persie goal at Arsenal and admitted afterwards he needs to reinforce his playing staff.
"We've only got a small squad. We lost Paddy Kenny before kick and we've had one or two blows but the spirit is right.
"He gets away with murder does van Persie...His arms are everywhere. " "I'm hoping to get one in for Monday and then three or four before the end of the window - hopefully before our next game at Newcastle."While not being drawn on specific targets, Warnock admitted he needs to add depth in several positions after seeing van Persie inspire the Gunners to victory.
But the Rangers manager was upset at the tactics used by the Arsenal captain in the 1-0 win at Emirates.
"He gets away with murder does van Persie. I wish we had him. His arms are everywhere. He gets away with it because he's van Persie but we need to educate our players a little bit more because he gets away with it."
Rangers were always in the game at Arsenal and Warnock thought his side could have come away with a result but for an error by Shaun Wright-Phillips which gifted possession to the hosts in the build-up to the winner.
"Shaun was distraught at the end of the game. But he played well today and could have won us the game and that's the fine line. On another day we could have got one and perhaps three points.
"We've learned quickly but we need some new additions and we're working on that."

Wigan told to wait on Man United youngster Published 22:00 31/12/11 By MirrorFootball
. Clubs hoping to take Manchester United’s fringe players on loan must wait until the end of the transfer window for a decision from Six Alex Ferguson.
Injuries have taken their toll on the champions, so moves for Federico Macheda, linked with Wigan, and Mame Biram Diouf are on hold.
Dont think that suits us to wait until the end of the window ,say it all falls through your left with without someone , think that would put us off !

Blah. Blah. Blah MIRROR Spurs and Fulham Published 11:31 01/01/12 By John Cross Recommend QPR boss Neil Warnock admits that he is relishing the chance to go on a spending spree and bring in "three or four" big deals in the January window. Warnock wants to bring in a centre half, two forwards, a midfielder and a keeper as ambitious QPR owner Tony Fernandes looks to back his manager with serious cash. QPR have already agreed a loan deal for Manchester United's Frederico Macheda but want an experienced striker as well and will make moves as soon as possible. They are keen on Fulham duo Andy Johnson and Bobby Zamora and would move for Aston Villa's Darren Bent if they are given any encouragement. They are in the running to sign Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong and Chelsea's out-of-favour centre half Alex while Ghana keeper Adam Kwarasey is another potential deal. Warnock said: "I've been looking forward to it for a number of weeks if I'm honest. We're playing alright but we need three or four. "We rushed to get five or six in the last four days of the last window. We had opportunities throughout the summer to get some good players in but we couldn't quite do it. "We're looking at a number of players, it's just a pity our next game is on Monday, probably just a bit too early. We might have one in but we'd like three or four before Newcastle." www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-QPR-want-Alex-Sebastien-Bassong-Andy-Johnson-Bobby-Zamora-article847995.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
