Mokel has been a outlet for leaks in the past...a huge signing if it comes off www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2078517/Chris-Samba-8m-January-trabnsfer-window-QPR-target.html?EXCLUSIVE: QPR set to launch £8m bid for Blackburn defender Samba By SAMI MOKBEL Last updated at 11:01 PM on 25th December 2011 Comments (0) Share Blackburn's major problems will increase further next month when Queens Park Rangers launch an £8million bid for Chris Samba. Steve Kean is under huge pressure at Ewood Park after Rovers' disastrous start to the season and they go into Monday's match at Liverpool rooted to the bottom of the Barclays Premier League. The Scot managed to hold on to Samba over the summer despite strong interest from Arsenal and Tottenham. On the move? Christopher Samba could be set for a January move to QPR But QPR manager Neil Warnock has made signing a new centre back a top priority. He will be handed between £15m and £20m next month by co-owners Tony Fernandes and Amit Bhatia. And the Loftus Road club have their eye on one or two 'marquee' signings. Warnock signed Joey Barton, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Anton Ferdinand over the summer and the bidding for big names is set to continue. Spending spree: Neil Warnock is keen to strengthen in January A source told Sportsmail: 'Some of the names being mentioned as potential signings are major. It shows how far they have come in the last few months. The money the club have at their disposal means they can attract some of the best players in the country to QPR.' QPR close to signing Rangers striker Published 21:14 25/12/11 By Alan Nixon
QPR boss Neil Warnock’s bid to sign Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic has been given a massive boost.
Scottish giants Rangers have given an agent the rights to sell him for £10million.
Football Spy revealed that Warnock is keen to land the highly-rated hit-man, who will be sold by financially-strapped Rangers for the right price. Now the Scottish Premier League leaders have issued a mandate to an English-based agency, who have tried to find buyers for him – with QPR top of the list.
Sunderland are also interested, while Liverpool have asked to be kept informed as they may be looking for striker cover.
Most of the Premier League clubs would rather sign Jelavic for less than the fixed fee, but QPR seem set to make the biggest bid and want the forward into the club as soon as the window opens.
Warnock is also keen on bringing in Ghana keeper Adam Kwarasey.
Kwarasey, 24, is currently at Norwegian club Stromsgodset but is ready to move after catching the eye in recent times. Sunderland, Blackburn, Arsenal and Celtic are watching developments.

Warnock rules out Hleb bidQueens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock has ruled out a bid to sign former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb in January. Hleb has spent the first half of the season on loan at Wolfsburg from Barcelona, but the Bundesliga club will not be extending the arrangement. The Belarus schemer has endured an injury-hit spell at Wolfsburg and had been linked with a switch to QPR to help regain his fitness. However, Warnock has played down speculation he wants to add the 30-year-old to his squad as he plots his New Year transfer activity. "I read that one the other day," said Warnock in The Sun. "There's no truth in it. I would struggle to say his name in the team talk!" Hleb has struggled for form and fitness since leaving Arsenal for Barcelona in 2008 after spending three years with Arsene Wenger's side. He took in a loan spell at Birmingham City last term, but injuries hindered his prospects of making an impact at St Andrew's and he is likely to be looking for another club when the transfer window reopens. www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7396801/?

EXCLUSIVE: Andy Johnson set to make winter's first move Published 22:01 27/12/11 By Alan Nixon -Mirror
Blackburn boss Steve Kean expects the green light to bid for unhappy Fulham striker Andy Johnson on Wednesday - and make him one of the first signings of the winter transfer window.
Kean is due to meet Rovers director Vineeth Rao on his return from a summit with owners Venky's to secure the cash to carry out the £2million swoop.
The Rovers chief has set up the deal, which would see Johnson handed a bumper contract, and now the club's Indian rulers are set to fund the move.
Venky's have decided to take a gamble on Johnson while they also try to sort out their own finances for possible further plunges in the window.
Kean and other Rovers officials have been anxiously waiting for news about their budget, but landing Johnson would be a step in the right direction.
Fulham manager Martin Jol left Johnson out of his squad for the derby with Chelsea and he may be cleared to move north.
QPR are also keen, but the 30-year-old is not a priority capture for them just now.

Spurs for Samba and Blackburn for Onuoha Redknapp goes for Samba after missing out on Cahill By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 11:08 PM on 27th December 2011 Tottenham will consider a move for Blackburn Rovers defender Chris Samba when the transfer window opens next week. Manager Harry Redknapp has seen primary defensive target Gary Cahill agree to join Chelsea from Bolton and wants a proven performer to bolster his injury ravaged defence. The 27-year-old Samba is also on QPR’s list of potential targets but would prefer to join Tottenham with their Champions League chasing squad should they firm up interest. Blackburn are looking to finance moves for Manchester City’s Nedum Onuoha and Fulham’s Andrew Johnson among others and while reluctant to lose a lynchpin such as Samba recognise a potential £10million sale could be too good to turn down. Redknapp also wants a striker and is hopeful of recruiting a big name with Chelsea’s Didier Drogba among his potential targets. Drogba has been offered a deal to join Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande. Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2079192/Tottenham-Christopher-Samba.html#ixzz1hmdJ17o2

Blackburn and QPR have been put on red alert after Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero revealed he has no plans to retire when he leaves Juventus next summer.
Del Piero has confirmed that he will leave the Italian giants at the end of the season and there had been reports that he would hang up his boots following an illustrious career for both club and country.
But the 37-year-old insists he has no plans to walk away from the game just yet and still believes he can compete at the highest level. Del Piero said: "I won't stop playing. There is just Juventus in my future for now. All that I am thinking about is this Serie A season and the Bianconeri.
"The hope is that we'll be able to do well in 2012 all of the things that we did well in 2011." Both Blackburn and QPR are looking to strengthen their squad and could make a shock move to sign Del Piero at the end of the season.
Steve Kean is desperate to turn the club's fortunes around while QPR boss Neil Warnock would welcome the experience that Del Piero would bring to his squad

Incredibly, it's that time again already when clubs desperate to achieve their goals start scouting around for the players they can pinch mid-season.
Don't believe anyone who tells you it will be a quiet one.
The clubs at the bottom of the Premier League are bang in trouble and need urgent reinforcements.
At the top, Manchester United need fantasy in their midfield, Arsenal need back-up for Robin van Persie. Liverpool need an alternative to misfiring Andy Carroll to support Luis Suarez, Chelsea need a clearout to make way for fresh blood and Spurs will be hunting the "mega-signing" that Harry Redknapp believes will put them in with a shout of the title.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Martin O'Neill needs more striking options at Sunderland. Everton and QPR too are a touch light up front. And Newcastle need to sell to fund moves for a new striker to back up Demba Ba and a new defender.
A quiet window this January? No chance. Here are 10 moves we expect to happen...
1. Gary Cahill: Bolton to Chelsea
Only 26 years of age and Chelsea want him to recreate the effective central defensive partnership that has done well for England alongside John Terry.
2. Jan Vertonghen: Ajax to Newcastle
Alan Pardew needs a central defender badly with Steven Taylor out for the season. Vertonghen looks a good player. He's only 24 but he has already won 35 caps for Belgium and won the Dutch championship.
The only problem for Newcastle is that Spurs are also interested as well.
3. Carlos Tevez: Man City to AC Milan
We all know what Tevez can do in front of goal. We also know the problems that come with him but Milan want to sign him.
The only problem is City only want to sell and Milan only want to take him on loan.
Again, watch out for Spurs with this one. Harry Redknapp has been making noises about being interested in taking Tevez.
If Spurs were to get him they would have a real, real chance of being up there in the fight for the title in the second half of the season.
4. Wesley Sneijder: Inter Milan to Manchester United
Forget what everyone is saying about his injury record. I think United will sign him and I think United will get him right and I think he will be fantastic for them.
He's 27 and the word is that Milan will have sell to raise funds to rebuild at the club.
5. Thierry Henry: New York Red Bulls to Arsenal
He is 34 but he can still do a job. He knows the club, he knows the players and the way Arsenal play suits him down to the ground.
Arsenal lose two strikers to the African Cup of Nations and Henry would be a great move even at his age.
6. Nicky Maynard: Bristol City to Fulham
Everton are also keen on the striker whose contract expires at the end of the season but Martin Jol looks set to move in first this January.
7. Rory Donnelly: Cliftonville to Liverpool
Seen as the best player to ply his trade in the IFA Premiership for years and has a stack of clubs from England after him. The reason? Goals.
In total the 6ft 2in battering ram has 17 for the campaign and, at around £100,000 he will be a bargain if he can make the jump to Premier League football.
Scouts will have seen he has pace, strength and a good work rate.
Swansea and Everton have been joined by Liverpool Arsenal and Manchester United, no less, in running the rule over him.
Swansea have moved quickly to try and tie up a deal but Liverpool have stepped up their interest. Kenny Dalglish likes him. A lot.
8. Salomon Kalou: Chelsea to PSG
At 26 still got a lot of football in him. Has always known where the goal is but has more fashionable footballers ahead of him at Chelsea.
His contract runs out of the end of the season and billionaire French club PSG are keen to give him a new home. An approach has already been made.
9. Sebastien Bassong: Spurs to QPR
A fine squad player for Spurs but Bassong wants to play more regularly.
The Hoops almost completed a move for him on the last few days of the summer transfer window but were beaten by the clock.
Since then Bassong has been performing well for Spurs but has still been a fringe player at the club. The move beckons.
10. Andy Johnson: Fulham to Blackburn
Can't agree a new deal at Fulham where the brutal truth is that boss Martin Jol just doesn't fancy him.
Blackburn need more firepower up front and, at £2million or thereabouts, are willing to do the deal.

Anyone heard of Filip Kostic QPR's Campbell offered loan return Blackpool six months after leaving Bloomfield Road By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 11:08 PM on 28th December 2011 DJ Campbell is being offered a move back to Blackpool just six months after quitting for QPR. The 30-year-old striker is wanted on loan by Blackpool manager Ian Holloway after failing to break into the Rangers first team. Campbell was struck down with a broken foot in October and has rarely featured since returning to fitness. And with QPR trying to land Stoke's Kenwyne Jones and Rangers' Nikica Jelavic next month, Campbell is expecting to drop further down the pecking order. Campbell was a big hit for Blackpool in the Premier League last season smashing 13 goals for Holloway's relegated side. Meanwhile, QPR want to sign Tottenham' Andros Townsend on loan. Tottenham, meanwhile, are keen on Serbian winger Filip Kostic, 19, who plays for Radnicki 1923. McCoist confirms bid for Jelavic sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/291670-rangers-boss-reveals-rumour-of-qpr-jelavic-bid/?Ally McCoist has revealed that he was told of a formal offer from Queens Park Rangers for Nikica Jelavic before the Glasgow derby. Croatia striker Jelavic has been the subject of intense transfer speculation recently and bids for his services were rejected in the summer. With the transfer window set to open again next week, McCoist has said that he would be reluctant to lose a key player. However, the Rangers manager has said that he was told that QPR had followed up initial interest with a firm bid, though he did not disclose the size of the fee and said that he had not had the offer confirmed. "Somebody at the club had mentioned it to me before kick-off, which was all I needed to be frank," he said, following his side's 1-0 defeat to Celtic. "I haven't heard anything else, that's all, and they told me it was just a rumour." Jelavic was a target for Championship side Leicester City in August and English Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion are also believed to have a strong interest. McCoist insisted last week that he did not want to cash in on the striker in order to strengthen other parts of his squad. "What will happen, will happen," he said, when asked if he could hold on to the player. “Let’s be honest about it Nikica is one of our top players and the fact he is our top scorer tells you that. “He is pivotal to our team and I wouldn’t want to lose anyone like that.”
