Seems like we r losing out on some top players. Hard when u have competition, I think history has shown we find it hard to compete when other teams come in, and I see no difference. Not bothered about crouch, I rate him but for 12m thats a joke. The guys 30. I wouldn't of minded us signing Jenas on loan but looks to be off to villa. I really hope we try to sign either Bassong or Ridgewell. I really am NOT a fan of anton ferdinand. Doesn't excite me at all and if we r paying over 1m i'll be very disappointed. I would try for sturridge or a top striker as we do lack goals. I rate dj but bothroyd is not proven.

I guess no likelihood of us re-signing the likes of Ugo and Armel

Scott also saying that Anton is our 4th choice defender and our bids are failing for our other choices. To be honest I don't think he knows anymore than everyone else.

Although anton being our 4th choice would make sense, because he is sh it and not much better that what we've got. I would of liked danns and 5m is a fair price. I hope we get bassong or ridgewell and pull the plug on this anton deal.

Sky Sports sources understand that QPR have expressed an interest in out-of-favour Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong.
The 25-year-old was reduced to a bit-part player last season at Tottenham as they excelled in Europe, and just missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification.
Bassong had expressed a desire to leave the club earlier this summer having sought clarification about his future with Harry Redknapp.
Suitable
Indeed, it is believed the club would not stand in his way if a suitable deal for the Cameroon international can be found.
QPR are looking for more defensive options and are presently closing in on a deal for Anton Ferdinand from Sunderland. And Bassong would also fit that bill as they seek to bring players into their squad with Premier League experience.

I guess the frustrating thing is that we HAVE the money to spend and maybe can't sign the players we want and can afford.

SWP is now the most important from today. I'm getting quite frustrated that nothing is happening at the moment.

Honestly, we need a better scouting network and we should not need to rely on last minute transfers. Of course this particualar transfer window is very special in that regard, but for the future: 1. Youth academy 2. Good scouting network (international level, not just UK) so that we don't have to always compete with other premier league clubs.

gladstone I agree regarding the striker issue. To be fair there aren't many quality one's out there and I think thats a big reason why you get asked to pay 12m for crouch, it just overinflates prices. It's like paying 15k for a 17 year old car. Unless they think crouch is like some classic . For me Sturridge would tick all the boxes but i'm not even sure he is available. I think bassong is a must signing and I really hope and prey for SWP as we still need attacking pace up top. I have heard names like Hooper but if he has only scored 22 in the scottish league I think it's a big ask and step up to ask him to carry that over in the premier league

I wonder if we're going to keep our Italian Scout (or whateer his title) who dates back to the Paladini/Caliendo era.

I think with our history, mainly signing either old past it never has beens or young headless chickens, I suggest we ignore the italian league and sack the italian scout, infact go the whole hog and get rid of GP and have a fresh start. Thanks GP but we should go for a whole new fresh approach

weareqpr12 23 in 30 games ... have heard nothing but good things about him. Wont happen though maybe one for the future. Sturridge would be welcomed .. always rated Fuller but what is he 31 , as u said , not many options out there. Bentner has fallen through now with stoke because of crouch deal hmmm not sure but has abillity

I think any deal for a striker will be big and last minute. Also someone we haven't been linked with so a pleasant surprise.

1815: IN THE PIPELINE QPR have been busy today haven't they? ...and they haven't finished yet. BBC Sport understands Sebastien Bassong's move from Tottenham to QPR is 'pretty much done'. Bassong is in Cameroon, though, so getting the paperwork sorted might prove a slight issue. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is moving a few players on isn't he? I wonder why...news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9575900.stm

That is exactly what a BBC sports reporter just tweeted, word for word.
@leon_Mann Leon Mann Bassong advisor tells me his move to #QPR is 'pretty much done'. He's in Cameroon so getting paperwork sorted the only potential issue #THFC
