Anyone know what is going on with SWP? It seems to have gone very quiet on the SWP front?!

Crouch is a QPR reject, so why bother with him?

www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/queens-park-rangers/8731052/QPR-to-sign-Anton-Ferdinand-from-Sunderland.htmlFerdinand, who is in the final year of his contract at Sunderland, after joining from West Ham for £8m three years ago, is one of the top earners on £40,000-a-week at the Stadium of Light and his impending departure is a major boost for Bruce as he looks to make two last-ditch signings of his own. The younger brother of England international Rio, Ferdinand has struggled to justify the money spent on him - and will relish a return to his native London. He is expected to be unveiled by Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday. The 26 year-old has surprisingly started the season in Sunderland's back four, impressing alongside Wes Brown on the opening day of the season, although there has been no attempt to open talks about extended his contract. With Titus Bramble and Michael Turner edging closer to match fitness, Ferdinand's place was in jeopardy and he has decided to accept the move to Loftus Road rather than spend another season providing cover. A fee of around £1m is believed to have been agreed between the two clubs. Ferdinand has made 95 appearances for the Black Cats, playing at right-back as well as centre-back.

Sorry if the thread has gone out of sync. I merged the 'Major signing' thread to keep it tidy.

I'd rather have Rio Ferdinand!

I have no idea why but when I heard the news about Anton I got really excited and then I realised actually he's pretty crap.

I think ferdinand is better than gabbidon, he would be a good signing as long as we get him a strong CB partner ie ridgewell/onouha/dann. If he has to play next to one size or gabbidon then he wont look as good as he is as he will have to cover the fudge ups those two regularly make. Perone looks like he will be a decent back up to first team. To the person that said peter crouch is a qpr reject, if you think a player thats scored for numerous premier league clubs, played in the champions league socring at the san siro played at a world cup is a reject then u sir are the reject.

Can't say I know much about him. I suppose one good point is that he has Prem experience but don't recall him hitting the headlines. Hope we are not looking at him purely on the strength of his name! Possibly just a bench warmer. Dunno really, but I don't feel excited.

Just read a Sunderland forum and it seems to me they want to get rid of Anton about as much as we want to get rid of Vine, Alberti, Pellicori and Dave.

The more expensive players we are linked with, the more I feel like we are going down the Leeds/Pompey route under Rodsdale/Storrie.
I hope I'm wrong.
Have we had a look at Seth Johnson yet?

Crouchy will rather stay in london and he is a Qpr fan so if Qpr and spurs agree fee he will chose QPR over stoke city

Rory LOL. must admit not too excited about Ferdinand as never rated him much myself. But I've been known to be wrong before.... Think that was in March of 1978 ;-)
