Think he has the misfortune of being linked to Hughes by some fans. Derry and Taraabt seem to be immune to criticism when they lose the ball. Agree with CPR, he is a proper baller and one with a good footballing brain, can't wait for him to be back in the mix. Had the good fortune to watch the Liverpool game on Spanish TV and they couldn't understand why he started on the bench.... Some truth to that, have noticed Derry giving away the ball on quite a few occasions. Don't get me wrong, I like him and I hope he stays and goes on to a coaching capacity, but sometimes he is a liability. In Graneros case I think he just needs to adapt to how we play and to english football.

QPRs french revolution... Good tactic though, since we obviously don't scout ourselves we outsource that to Newcastle!

agree gramps , doing my head in. Also agree with Baz & JJ, a quality CB should be the priority, it was last window as well. As far as I remember all of us has said that and said so last window. Very hard to understand why that isn't the top priority!

Well I can forgive vasting some millions if we can get a swede in the team But you have to question, West Brom has now said sooo many times they are not going to sell anyone, so why don't we try some alternatives???

Why all these midfielders, when we have a perfectly good one in faurlin? Good question, if we are to bring in more midfielders we should be 100% sure that they will significantly improve the team. Even Derry works decently well, even if he keep giving the ball away, sometimes in dangerous situations.

Commenting on Inghams post:
Which is why you have to have respect for what Jordan at least wanted to do at Crystal Palace, building a very good youth set up and giving those players a go. That is building your own team from the ground up and growing organically so to speak. Don't know enough about Palace to know if the actually tried that fully. But I do know Jordan felt let down time and again when they kept losing those players for small sums to big clubs.
Anyway to me it seems the only way to get out of the circus Ingham describes, at least for a small club like QPR, is to grow slowly. That would mean, care less about if we go down to the Championship, build the club and team from the ground up with a good youth set up coupled with good low league level scouts and, not least important, a good connection to the local area with lots of community work.
I think this is a very difficult road but what a small club has to do to be able to grow for real, also this reminds me of how I felt the club wanted to be in the "real fans real football" days, even if we didn't succeed very well. It would also mean live within your means financially.
Or you could have a super rich owner that actually puts money into the club, probably very poor idea tax wise but the only proper way of doing business if you're an honest person and not just a capitalist.

Sad list Wouldn't it be honest and also probably wise of a club to give the players that promoted the club the chance for a season? Perhaps with one new player in each area to add quality? If you go down, you would still have good finances and a team that won't just disappear. If you stay up you can do the same thing again, one new player in each part of the team, but no more than that? Seems sensible and no brainer to me, but then I'm not paid millions to coach a football club and I don't loan millions of the clubs money to buy players either, those who do probably knows best, right? Right? Also, looks like dirty scum have bought themselves a ref this afternoon.

Would also depend on the terms Nelsen will have during that time. Will he be staying in London or flying over the Atlantic several times a week?
Plus, we simply must have a replacement for him! I would prefer someone up and coming who could also go down with us and not leave in the summer if we go down. Alternatively someone just like Nelsen, old but a good pro signed just for the rest of the season.
But yes, knowing what we know now he would be worth keeping in the 25.

We are still in with a chance of staying up. However, I thought that yesterday we would have got three points if we had played with any attacking purpose in the second half. I fear that Harry is too much concerned with defending that he has forgotten that we need to score to win games. I know he wasn't on the pitch for long but can somebody tell me what Park achieved yesterday? How can we leave Ale Faurlin sat on the bench & bring that man on is beyond me. Reading beating Newcatle was a good result for us. We have to concerntrate on catching the team in 17th place, it dosn't matter who is 18th or 19th. Yes...and I would argue Canaries is well on their way into the relegation battle as well.

Seems like the bottom of the league is very poor this season. Could be what saves us, but I believe if you compare to other bottom teams that has managed to stay up then we have very few points.

It's pretty much as Harry says, if we can't keep the ball AT ALL, it won't matter how much our players run and fight.

Good prices and 4th round, would be disappointed with a low attendance.

I for one am thankful we don't have owners who have thrown in the relegation towel in Jan. Getting players in with a relegation, free transfer clause which won't burden us in the Championship is good business, good players in to try and keep us up without a Championship hangover if we go down. Well, I have given up caring about our finances now, we must already be in a crazy amount of debt. And if it's true that we are offering double the wages that Newcastle was prepared to offer Remy, well what is that if not crazy!. They average what, 50 000 or more at their matches, out stadium has a max attendance of less than 19000. Something is fishy is what it is. Besides, what about those fair play rules? Honest question, I'm not updated on the debate on those in England!

well i think most supporters at the game would disagree with that lone. Perhaps, but maybe us tv- supporters got to see all those dreadful replays? "Most supporters at the game", get a grip and come back with s real argument. I like Mackie, but against Spurs he ran and ran but posed no threat and was sometimes embarrisingly easy take care of. The usual scapegoat SWP on the other hand had a good game, at least until he had to try finishing...

that could be possible That would not surprise me, i don't think Redknapp would stay if we go down and this maybe a stability thing if he were to go. Just a hunch nothing more Well if that is so, could be worse. He seems to be decent and bringing him in now would be good in case Harry goes, he wouldn't have to start from scratch.

Of course it's sensible but it also implies there are no such cuts in the current players contracts, which makes me furious. That is simply put not good enough!

Mackie lack some quality but hardly effort, was very ineffective against Spurs though but you are way too harsh on him. On the other hand imo I think many are too harsh on Park as well, he has just come back from injury and he is one of those footballers who work a lot and are good for the team without being noticed much. Besides if you are already in the correct position you don't need to tackle to win the ball. Lastly, we are often playing Park in positions he is ok at instead of at his favourite position (right midfield).
That being said, we could probably have done better than Park for the same money, but that isn't Parks fault.

Wouldn't pay £8m for Olsson, nor £7.5m for Dawson. As for Bent, Villa will go down and then they will get mugged for him by some mid table club who will pay them next to nothing, so let them live in their own little Paul Lambert inspired dream world. If M'Villa didn't have the decency to meet Redknapp face to face why are we still chasing after this arrogant little s**t? In some ways I'd be happier if we ended up getting no one this window and actually let the players we have go out and prove their worth by keeping us up. I agree, but if Nelsen leaves before the season is over we really do need a replacement for him!

And we took it short, some play around and then we got the second one just a minute or so after the first one (1st half)

So if we can't have Olsson we must have Dawson? Where is the logic in that, is there no more than 2 good centre backs in the whole world? Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but why not look at the best Championship teams and their centre backs, why not look at some of the best from the scandinavian leagues, the belgian league etc. etc., who knows maybe there is even a good centre back in the scottish league that would find it intriguing to move to London?
