From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-wls-qpr-to-take-their-time-over-trialist-decisionQPR continue to look at trialist MottaBy West London Sport 04/01/2016 Italian defender Marco Motta is due to feature for QPR’s Under-21 side in a friendly against Reading on Tuesday. Right-back Motta arrived on trial last week and played in a friendly – also against Reading. Rangers are keen to take a longer look at the 29-year-old, who has been without a club since being released by Watford during the summer. He made nine Championship appearances for Watford last season and was a team-mate of Daniel Tozser and Gabriele Angella, who have since joined the R’s. QPR are looking for cover at right-back, where they have been short of options this season and currently have Nedum Onuoha playing there in the absence of the injured James Perch.

We better go and sign that young keeper from Southend then. If Rob Green goes which the Moose is confident he will do this window, from what Ive seen of Smithies it worries me sick.

So, if true, seemingly the worst of all options - no cash for Charlie and no realistic hope of even a play-off place.

From the Nottingham Post Transfer gossip: Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury linked with QPRBy Nottingham Post | Posted: January 05, 2016 Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury has been linked with a move to Saturday's FA Cup opponents QPR. The Reds' Championship rivals are keen to revamp their squad under new manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The Brent and Kilburn Times report Lansbury is on their January shortlist, claiming Hasselbaink is a long term admirer of the midfielder. Hasselbaink, a former Forest coach, has been told there is money to spend, seemingly subject to moving people on. Rangers have also been linked to former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison, who came close to joining the club in the last transfer window, and Dutch winger Nasser El Khayati, who plays for Hasselbaink's former club Burton. QPR are actively looking to offload players off their wage bill and are open to offers for Charlie Austin, Sandro, Leroy Fer and Matty Phillips. Lansbury rejected the chance to join Burnley in the summer, although they may yet test the water again with Forest 14th in the Championship, ten points off the play-offs. QPR, who travel to the City Ground at the weekend for the third round tie, are 16th in the table as they plot a return to the Premier League. Burnley – relegated with the London side last season – are fifth. From the Mirror www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/sunderland-eyeing-cut-price-deal-7116305Sunderland eyeing cut-price deal for QPR midfielder Sandro as Sam Allardyce bids to strengthen squad16:45, 4 JAN 2016 UPDATED 16:54, 4 JAN 2016 BY JOHN CROSS The Brazil international was not risked for QPR’s game with Hull on New Year’s Day as they believe he could be on his way in JanuarySam Allardyce is trying to do a cut-price deal for QPR midfielder Sandro. Sunderland boss Allardyce has made a firm enquiry for 26-year-old Sandro who is still on £50,000-a-week ÂPremier League wages in the Championship. Allardyce has concerns about Sandro’s pace and injury record, but QPR may be willing to do a deal to get one of their biggest earners off the books. Sunderland have also made enquiries about QPR’s Steven Caulker but he is currently on loan at Southampton. Allardyce is looking to shake up the squad at the Stadium of Light and is also looking for a striker with interest in Jermain Defoe - on £80,000-a-week - and Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham running down their deals. Mirror Sport revealed last week that Allardyce was threatening to quit if he felt he could not keep the club in the Premier League. Allardyce is looking for a busy January window to try and make the reinforcements that he feels he needs to survive.

From the Daily Mail Bournemouth join the chase to sign QPR defender Steven Caulker as Championship club reveal a willingness to listen to offers Steven Caulker has struggled for games during loan spell at Southampton Bournemouth join relegation rivals Sunderland in chasing QPR defender Eddie Howe is also interested in Hull's Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson By SIMON JONES FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 05:38 EST, 6 January 2016 | UPDATED: 05:40 EST, 6 January 2016 Bournemouth will rival Sunderland for defender Steven Caulker as Cherries boss Eddie Howe looks to tighten his defence in the January transfer window. The 24-year-old is on loan at Southampton from QPR but the Loftus Road club are willing to sell for the right price. Caulker has plenty of top-flight games under his belt having played throughout a relegation campaign with Cardiff, which preceded the £8million deal to Rangers in summer 2014. Howe is on the look-out for greater Premier League experience at the back, with his side having conceded 34 goals in 20 matches - the worst outside the league's bottom three. Bournemouth have also asked about Hull's Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson, with Tigers boss Steve Bruce facing a battle to keep the pair over the coming month. Davies, 30, joined Hull in a £2.25million deal from Birmingham in June 2013 but the defender is keen to seek assurances over his first-team opportunities at the KC Stadium. But the former Luton, West Brom and Aston Villa player said: 'I'll only leave if the manager says he doesn't want me. 'My contract is up in the summer and, right now, I am playing for my future. We are in talks over a new deal but, if the effort is not here to keep me, then I shall have to move on. 'I'll be 31 at the end of the season, and I need to be playing games. I would be happy to sign on again here because I've been at Hull for three years and really enjoyed it.' Bruce has been delighted by the manner Davies has responded from a dip in form that resulted in him being dropped earlier in the season, and the former Sunderland boss sees him and Dawson as the best partnership in the Championship. From the Daily Mail Jack Grealish offered escape from Aston Villa misery by Leeds, QPR and DerbyAston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish infuriated manager Remi Garde Sportsmail revealed photographs of him partying following heavy defeat The 20-year-old was banished to train with club's development squad Championship sides Leeds United, QPR and Derby keen on loan deal See the latest Aston Villa news, views and scores By SIMON JONES PUBLISHED: 11:16 EST, 6 January 2016 | UPDATED: 22:05 EST, 6 January 2016 Leeds United, QPR and Derby all want to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish on loan during the January transfer window. The 20-year-old has made just three appearances since he infuriated manager Remi Garde by breaching club protocol. Grealish was banished to train with the club's development squad after Sportsmail revealed photographs of him partying following Villa's 4-0 defeat by Everton on November 21. last year. Garde wanted to make an example of Grealish after the 20-year-old was filmed enjoying a boozy night out after Villa's humiliating defeat at Goodison Park. He was also shown partying in a hotel the next day where it appeared hippy crack was being inhaled from balloons by friends. It came after photographs emerged showing Grealish previously sprawled out on a pavement in Tenerife. Blessed with great ability, Grealish shot to fame by starring in Villa's FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool at Wembley and the club's successful fight against relegation last term. But he attracted the wrong attention last summer after being pictured apparently unconscious on a street in Tenerife following a night out and Villa chiefs explored the possibility of installing a mentor from the senior group of players. This season Grealish has not kicked on and Garde said before the trip to Goodison Park that he was 'unfinished', adding: 'Jack for me is a very gifted player with a lot of skill and quality but what I saw in the last few games he played was not the level he should have played. It is as simple as that.' From Coventry Telegraph www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/transfer-news/league-one-gossip-qpr-join-10692403?League One gossip: QPR join Wolves in hunt for Peterborough United star as Barnsley eye Rangers striker10:38, 6 JAN 2016 UPDATED 10:39, 6 JAN 2016 BY AIDAN MCCARTNEY QPR have entered the race to sign highly-rated Peterborough United striker Conor Washington according to Mail Online. Washington, 23, has hit 14 goals in 28 appearances for Posh this season and that form has seen interest build from teams in the Championship. Wolves and Birmingham City were thought to be keen on the former Newport County man as both Midlands side look to bolster their attacks during the transfer window. However the paper reports that QPR are now looking to steal a march with director of football Les Ferdinand watching Washington in action as he netted against Sheffield United on Saturday. Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has already confirmed that he wouldn't consider selling his star striker this month but with a bidding war on the horizon his opinion could be altered by the millions on offer. Barnsley are thought to be considering a move for Rangers forward Nicky Clark. The rumour comes from HITC who suggest that the 24-year-old, who has struggles to nail down a starting spot in Mark Warburton's side , is expected to leave Ibrox with his contract expiring in the summer The Tykes are finally moving clear of the bottom four in League One with manager Lee Johnson nominated for manager of the month after two wins in three matches. Johnson could yet face competition from Rangers Scottish Premiership rivals for the former Queens of the South forward who has scored 22 goals in 88 appearances for the Glasgow side. Wigan Athletic are trying to bring back loanee Yanic Wildschut from Middlesbrough on a permanent basis reports Sky Sports. The 24-year-old enjoyed a successful loan spell with Latics which saw the forward scoring four times in 17 appearances before he returned to the North East on Saturday. His contract with Boro expires in the summer and it's thought both clubs would be open to a deal this month should a figure be agreed. Wigan boss Gary Caldwell said: "Money's always the stumbling block, isn't it? It's money." "We've helped his career. I don't think it was going anywhere at Middlesbrough and we gave him a home, an opportunity to show his talent. He did it in a great way and he bought into what we were trying to do at the club. "He enjoyed his spell here, we want him back and he wants to come back."

From the72 the72.co.uk/44004/qpr-and-ipswich-interested-in-former-leeds-loanee/?QPR and Ipswich interested in former Leeds loanee
BY JAMES O'ROURKE ON JAN 6, 2016 Queens Park Rangers and Ipswich Town are looking into the prospect of signing Cagliari defender Dario Del Fabro according to HITC Sport. The 20-year-old had a brief spell on loan at Leeds United last season, only playing once. Del Fabro is currently out on loan at Italian Serie B side Ascoli and said to be putting in a string of impressive performances. This had ultimately led to interest in him extending, especially now the January transfer window is open for business. The youngster does have experience of playing in the Italian top flight from his time at Cagliari, so any club signing him certainly wouldn’t be bringing a naïve rookie into their squad. The Italian Under-20 international featured for Leeds in their FA Cup tie against Sunderland last season, a game where Neil Redfearn’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat. It is no secret that Mick McCarthy and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink are looking to strengthen their squads this month. The Italian centre back would certainly boost options within their respective squads and his brief, albeit very brief, knowledge of the Championship would at least give him a head-start in comparison to most other foreign recruits. Any potential deal would depend on parent club Cagliari recalling Del Fabro from his loan this month, in order for a loan move away to be sanctioned. It is perhaps more likely that Cagliari would only entertain a loan move, unless a suitable price can be agreed between both parties.

The 35-year-old is out of contract in the summer but has a clause that means he will be given an extended deal should he play 30 times this season. Green has made 25 appearances so far, but Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is prepared to put his faith in 24-year-old Alex Smithies. Bournemouth have shown an interest, and have also considered a move for Norwich’s John Ruddy, but boss Eddie Howe is likely to persevere with Artur Boruc. From West London Sport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-wls-west-brom-and-bournemouth-eye-qpr-winger-matt-phillips-footballAlbion and Bournemouth keen on Phillips dealBy David McIntyre 08/01/2016 West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth have shown an interest in signing Matt Phillips from QPR during this month’s transfer window. Albion had a £7m bid for him rejected during the summer, leading to much speculation over whether they would table another offer when the window reopened. And they appear to still be keen on a potential deal to sign Phillips, who moved to Loftus Road from Blackpool in 2013. Bournemouth, meanwhile, are monitoring developments, with Rangers willing to listen to offers for the 24-year-old winger and a number of other players. Keeper Rob Green could be made available to other clubs as QPR look to trim their wage bill, while Sunderland are interested in Steven Caulker.

Yeah but we will replace them still .You know a few Morrisons , Crouches , Nolans In all seriousness, I hope we carry on and get a few good ones, like Cherry, Hall and Luongo. But we really should be playing the good ones.... But please no more desperate last minute deals like Perch again and no more signing League 1 players like Gobern, we aint in that league yet.

So we have plenty of players do we? enough to let the better or higher paid ones go and not replace them? . Even if we have plenty of players (which is a matter of debate) how many are actually capable of keeping us at least mid table in the Championship.
So we sell Green - left with Smithies and Lumley. Smithies may improve with games but what he has shown for us in his limited games is poor.
Left back Perch criticised by many and injured and Furlong who is struggling to make it and seems to be at his right level on loan. Right back - Konch doing ok, Yun either injury prone or something but off the radar Untried Robinson not fit yet Centre backs - Hall Angela and Ned with Hill as back up. Ned totally out of form, Hill just about ok but can't playevery game so count that as 3 and a half of whom one is a loan So where do we have too many at the back?
Upfront Austin who people want gone - leaves us with JET and Polter and 3 games a season Mackie (if they ever play him up front) If we have to depend on those 3 to score goals we are in deep s**t.
Midfield we have enough people and can lose a couple - but we have an imbalance with no one properly linking the play between defence and attack, not enough tracking back, not enough pushing forward from midfield or overlapping from the full backs.
A bit of a sorry state all round which is why we are where we are at the moment. Sure we have some good players but we do not have a balance and we do not have a team. We have a bunch of individuals wandering around the pitch looking like they do not know what heir role is or what they should be doing and that is down to coaching. So if we are to off load the high earners we must bring in players with the ability to hit the ground running at he championship level, not through in untried untested academy players in the hope they may have a good game or 2.
I have no problem with selling players to reduce the wage bill but half way through the season is not he time to start experimenting with untried young players - if we do look out League 2 here we come. If we sell we have to buy and buy wisely for a change

The versatile 23-year-old has just returned to Loftus Road from a successful spell back at his former club Swindon Town. He moved to Loftus Road in the summer from the Robins after signing a three-year deal on the back of his 11-goal season in League One. From the 72 the72.co.uk/44573/bournemouth-unlikely-to-sign-qpr-goalkeeper/?Bournemouth unlikely to sign QPR goalkeeperBY TOM ALLEN ON JAN 9, 2016 Bournemouth are unlikely to sign Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green this month, with the club instead deciding to stick with Artur Boruc, according to The Daily Mail. There have been reports this month that QPR are very keen for Green to leave the club this month, as he doesn’t have a future under new boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The goalkeeper is understood to be very close to triggering a clause in his deal that could cause his contract to be extended for a further year at the London club. After being linked with a move to Premier League Bournemouth, speculation now looks to have ended in this respect with the club deciding to stick with current goalkeeper Artur Boruc. Queens Park Rangers signed goalkeeper Alex Smithies from fellow Championship side Huddersfield Town in August but the player has made only two league appearances since signing. New boss Hasselbaink is set to put his faith into the 25 year-old now however, with Green being frozen out and Smithies being made the club’s new number one.
