Our signings getting more bizarre by the day. From the Offie QPR SIGN TYLER BLACKWOOD PUBLISHED 16:00 10th July 2015 by @qprfc Striker Tyler Blackwood agrees one-year contract at Loftus Road … QPR sign striker Tyler Blackwood following trial The 23 year old has signed a one-year deal Blackwood scored six goals during trial spell QPR have completed the signing of striker Tyler Blackwood. The 23 year-old – who impressed during a trial period with the R’s last season – has agreed a one-year deal from 1st August 2015. After putting pen to paper, Blackwood told http://www.qpr.co.uk: “I am very happy to sign for QPR. “I worked hard throughout the backend of last season, and the start of this, and the hard work has paid off. “I’m a striker who likes to play on the shoulder of the last man, use my pace, and I’m a goalscorer. “My personal target this season is to get league appearances. I know I’m good enough, but I have to prove to the manager and the rest of the team that I deserve to be involved. That’s my aim. “Under Chris Ramsey, you know that every day you train there is a chance you will be involved. It gives you that extra incentive, you don’t need any more motivation than that.” Head Coach Ramsey added: “Tyler is a late developer. He went down the education route initially, and studied in America. “He has trained with us for a few months and we believe he deserves this chance.” Blackwood scored six goals in total during his first spell with Rangers, including a match-winning brace for the Under-21s at Crewe Alexandra and another double in a first team friendly with Norwich City. Born in London, the former Northampton Town trainee arrives from the United States following a three-year spell with the University of South Florida. How can anyone complain about the signing of Tyler Blackwood?
Of course it may not work, but how much would we have lost? Who knows, he may end up as our record goalscorer!
Did Swindon supporters moan when they signed Austin from a team way down the Non- League pecking order?
What would have been the reaction on message boards when we signed Les? How would Palace fans have reacted when they signed SWP's stepfather?
After a four month trial, even Queens Park Rangers should be able to judge if a contract is warranted!

Harriman loan IS strange. If we don't want him, why give him new deal. Other clubs wanted himand he's no longer a teenager.
As for Blackwood - As "One for the future" no problem. And maybe he'll come good this season. But we can't rely on him as one of or 3 or 4 strikers
As I said last wk or two, I'll wait till we finish our signings. But if this continues, then clearly it's a budgetary matter. Well see soon

Mac,
I can't understand the Harriman situation either.
I think we all knew that our signings this season would be based on budgetry constraints though. IF we achieve a comfortable position in mid table I would be very pleased.
However, I'm not expecting relegation problems (been wrong before) & I thought the squad going to Italy looked stronger than I'd expected.

The budgetary constraints make the Harriman deal even more confusing, unless we now have a right full back about to sign.
I wonder if Blackwood is expected to be before or after Grego-Cox in the pecking order?
I would get too fooled by the squad in Italy Terry, we could lose three or four of those at the drop of a hat.

Blackmore may work out and may not, would have thought we already have one youngster in Reece in the forward set up.
Swindon took a punt on Austin agree but cant compare the two like for like, Charlie had just hit 48 goals in 42 games . I dont see that that on Blackmore's cv and didnt see it on Troy Hewitts either.
But fully understand you need to take a punt now and again and Ramsey must see something in him like Redknapp did with Donaldson
But all these youngsters wont keep us in the Championship. We are about to lose Fer Austin McCarthy Sandro Phillips Caulker and Traore.
We need a blend of youth with quality and a bit of experience..
Replacing them all with youngsters is fine but they wont keep us up , we are going to need some quality in the next 4 weeks.
Unless we sign decent replacements for 5 of those above we will finish in bottom half imo.

I wonder if Harriman knew if he signed a deal he would be loaned out again Roller ?
I can only see Wycombe signing him on a permanent after this spell.

I wouldn't expect to see the so called "quality" come in until the "quality" has gone out. With a tight budget we can not gamble on who will go and who will stay. I would expect any of those going out (excluding the truly appalling Traore) to be replaced quickly.

Under those circumstances it would surely have been better for both parties to let him go to Luton. Ehmer, I believe, left under his own steam because he enjoyed playing at Gillingham and wanted to play regular football. I'd guess the same would be true of Harriman.

Which is fine Roller but as weeks go by without them moving on, your first choices will keep getting snapped up and you end with people further down the pecking order. Not ideal but I guess our hands are tied.

Exactly, thats why I see him staying with Wycombe now . They really loved him at Luton, bet deep down he's gutted he's not there and gutted he is not part of our plans still.

Yay. Something else for the moaners to moan about. Excellent. Coach Ramsey and Ferdinand, the gift that keeps on giving. How do you find out the odds for them both to be gone by January 1st, 2016?

Shocking signing for he first team and just another indicator that our top targets are not interested in coming to W12. Which top targets are those? It's a question you keep evading. I'd suggest, whoever they are, they will be available for top fees and will want top wages, something the club obviously can't afford yet you continue to slag off people who don't have any control over the finances of the club.

You have missed the point....... Again les Ferdinand was reported at the kit launch, saying we had some top targets, with lots of experiance and it was a matter of getting them over the line. I jokingly said a little while ago we were now dining from the happy menu at McDees, which people scoffed at. In reality, we are actually dining from the reduced isle at Poindland.

How much have we trimmed of the wage bill already and how much more will go, when the ither four to six players leave, in the last week of the window?
How much do we get from th PL this season?
It's been Widmer reported there will be no FFP fine.
The only reason why Ferdinand and Ramsey got the job is because they sold a strategy to fernandes which he fell for.

You would have thought you would have learnt your lesson about being so high and mighty, from the shirt design threads. But I guess it's jist your nature.

Is that a different strategy to what Hughes & Redknapp sold to Fernandes that he fell for? One that cost millions in achieving failure?
It may be that the difference now is that Uncle Tone is being told what policy to adopt by his superiors, rather that wasting £180 million of Tune money.
TF is not the man in charge. He was never the man behind the money & thos epeople no longer have the same trust in him.
Har,
Charlie Austin was playing at the 5th level of non-league football in the Wessex League when Swindon signed him. Many players score that many goals in a season at that level. Most are also Sunday Morning players as they are not deemed good enough to be on contract (as Mings wasn't when he signed for Ipswich).
This is not an on the spur signing. He has been trialed & studied in great detail. It may not work. It may be the best signing the club has ever made. What I do hope is that the club have checked that he is entitalled to reside & be employed in this country! Have just read he was born in the UK so even Rangers shouldn't be able to mess that up!
Roller,
I do expect at least four of the touring party to be gone before September, but how exciting it would be if Grego-Cox & Blackwood performed as younger players in Allen & Goddard did in 79-80! Come to that, score 50% of what those two did & in thirty years time our remaining supporters would still be referring to them!
I like this pre-season. It is the first one for decades that we seem to be looking beyond the next transfer window1
