Redknapp admits he's desperate for QPR to tie up deals before deadline By Yann Tear Jan 29 2013 inShare Share on emailShare on print Harry Redknapp HARRY Redknapp is pinning his hopes on chairman Tony Fernandes working his magic to recruit players before the transfer window closes on Thursday – and admits he isn't sure how many will sign. The QPR boss says the priority is a central defence to replace Ryan Nelsen, who has played his last game for Rangers – with Anzi's Chris Samba the number one target. “I don't know how many we'll get,” Redknapp said immediately after Tuesday night's 0-0 draw with Manchester City at Loftus Road.. “We could get three or four. We could get none. You just don't know do you. But none would leave us in trouble. I need a central defender, that's for sure.” Redknapp continued: “The chairman's working on several options. I've given him a list of players and he's tried to get one or two for us. “He's dealing with it [the Chris Samba deal] and I don't know where we are with it. The chairman asked me a week ago whether I'd be interested if he could get me Samba and I said 'Of course. I think he's a fantastic competitor.' I've left it solely in his hands.” Redknapp said the threadbare nature of the squad was obvious against Man City – with two keepers on the bench and two players absent. “We had two goalkeepers on the bench, because there's nobody else,” he said. “Jamie Mackie pulled out with a back injury and DJ Campbell heard his father was very very ill today, so I let him be with his dad today. “We're working very hard to get in new players, but it's not easy. We are struggling a bit. We lose Ryan Nelsen now and I haven't got a replacement. “I let Anton Ferdinand go and we're desperately short, when you look at the squad tonight – and one or two of those lads are looking to go out still.” Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest QPR news. Stoke paid £10million for him 2 years ago i know we were linked but couldn't agree a deal at the time. Also i see he's turned 32 today (30 jan) so i guess £5million is to much when you factor in say an extra £2.5million as mackie's value. If i were harry i'd ask to loan him on the condition we loan them Mackie. If we went down we could keep or sell Mackie and not be stuck with Crouch's big wages.

QPR close in on Croatian ace
Date: 30th January 2013 at 8:26 am
Written by Alex Hams
QPR are close to agreeing a deal for Dynamo Kiev midfielder Nico Kranjcar, according to reports from The Metro.
Super Hoops boss Harry Redknapp managed the Croatian at both Portsmouth and Tottenham and is keen to bring him in to help his new team avoid relegation.
The deal is expected to be concluded before the January transfer window slams shut on Thursday, with the 28-year-old happy to return to the Premier League.
He only left Spurs over the summer to join the Ukrainian giants after falling out of favour in North London.
Despite featuring regularly for the club in both domestic and European competition, Kiev are believed to be willing to allow him to leave.
‘Arry will attempt to follow Kranjcar’s signing by bringing in West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie.
The Baggies have knocked back two bids for the Nigerian, despite his criticisms of the club via Twitter.
But, Redknapp still believes he can get his man and will return with a bid ahead of deadline day.
The ex-Tottenham manager has made no secret of his desire to bring in new players, but has stepped up his efforts in the past few days following the club’s dismal FA Cup display against the MK Dons.

Samba looking for way out of Russia after QPR make £10m bid for defender By DAVID KENT
PUBLISHED: 08:20 GMT, 30 January 2013 | UPDATED: 08:33 GMT, 30 January 2013
Christopher Samba is trying to force his move to QPR, sources in Russia have claimed.
Samba, whose family are still based in England, wants to return for personal reasons and is also eager to join QPR’s relegation fight.
That has given hope to Harry Redknapp that he can pull off the unlikely £10million transfer of the 28-year-old centre back from Russia club Anzhi.
Rangers are desperate to fill to void left by Ryan Nelsen who is taking a coaching position in the MLS and was given a guard of honour at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.
Ironically, Nelsen and Samba were former defensive partners at Blackburn.
Samba has been happy at Anzhi but now wants to go. He hopes the club’s board will accept his wishes, especially now Rangers have increased their bid with a second offer.
Redknapp has said that ‘the chairman is dealing with the Samba issue’ and Tony Fernandes is hoping he can pull off his second big coup of the window after landing Loic Remy.
Rangers drew 0-0 with champions Manchester City on Tuesday to give them hope they can still avoid the drop, even though they are favourites to go down.

From the BBC
0939 TRANSFER LATEST
From BBC Sport's Ben Smith: "QPR will hold further talks with Stoke today as manager Harry Redknapp pushes ahead with plans to sign striker Peter Crouch.
"Stoke are willing to sell Crouch but have rejected a player plus cash offer that would have seen Jamie Mackie move to the Britannia Stadium.
"QPR are now preparing to return with a straight cash offer for Crouch with Stoke attempting to recoup close to the £10m they paid for him in August 2011."

Well, so far Crouchie scored the same amount of goals as Mackie + Cisse (that's 5).
Does he have another 5 in him this season? Is each worth a million?...
But if we can't make Mackie score regularly, these goals have to come from somewhere.

10 million pounds for a 32 year old?
Obviously if we knew in advance he'd score a lot of goals/guarantee we stay up...But Crouch is not that kind of goalscorer...If he plays a dozen games for QPR, he'll probably get 5, 6, 7 - which is not to be sneezed at.

R'S SIGN SUK-YOUNG
PUBLISHED 10:05 30th January 2013 by @officialqpr
South Korean full-back pens deal
SOUTH KOREAN international Yun Suk-Young has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road.
The highly-rated defender – who was an integral member of the South Korean Olympic squad that won bronze at the London Games last summer – put pen to paper after the R’s agreed an undisclosed fee with K-League side Chunnam Dragons for his services.
Yun, 22, made his full South Korea debut last October in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Iran.
The left-back, who has been named in the South Korea squad that take on Croatia in a friendly at Craven Cottage early next month, has been on the radar of a number of top European clubs in the last few years, but Rangers have jumped to the top of the queue to clinch his signature.
Suk-Young has been granted a work permit and will be eligible to play for the R’s once he obtains a visa.

"Reports are beginning to emerge that an agreement was reached with Porto last night to loan the player until the end of the season with a right to buy included in the deal for a fee said to be 7.5m euros. The 27-year-old Portugal international defender is expected to fly to Italy tonight and undergo a medical on Thursday."

Harry Redknapp's #QPR ask Rolando to name his own salary in latest attempt to sign central defender. #FCP #POR Queens Park Rangers have asked Rolando to name his own salary in their latest attempt to recruit the Portugal international. The relegation-threatened club have also placed a private jet on standby to fly the 27-year-old to London for a medical should he finally accept their overtures. Rolando refused to even meet Mark Hughes when the since-sacked QPR manager tried to convince him to join during the summer window, saying that he did not want to join a club of that stature and expressing his disbelief at FC Porto's efforts to push him towards the London side when they'd received superior offers from elsewhere in Europe. After being left out of Porto's first team for most of the opening half of the season, however, Rolando met with QPR chief executive officer Phil Beard and manager Harry Redknapp last week, impressing both. Amidst competing interest from Napoli, the defender has yet to make a final decision on his future. The Serie A title challengers are not expected to meet the financial terms on offer at Loftus Road. FC Porto are asking €8million for a full transfer, but president Nuno Pinto da Costa will also consider a half-season loan. “I have been over to Porto and met him, it’s a difficult deal to do,” said Redknapp. “I met the boy and had a good chat and it was great. It’s up to the chairman in the end, it’s finances and it is down to the chairman and chief executive, not a lot down to managers. It’s out of my hands now really. Good player if we could get him. I think it’s a difficult one.” Earlier this week, QPR allowed Anton Ferdinand to join Bursaspor on loan. Another senior central defender, Ryan Nelsen, played his final game for the club last night and will now join the MLS as Toronto FC's coach. sulia.com/channel/soccer/f/66ec46e7-a494-4d57-88d1-3dddd7cd5fa7/?source=twitter

FC Porto can receive eight million per RolandoPor Writing A-A + A FC Porto have all settled with Queens Park Rangers move to sell the Portuguese international Rolando, a transfer that will render the dragons around eight million euros. Rolando is more interested in signing for QPR than being transferred to Naples, for what are expected news about the transfer in the coming hours. Those in charge of QPR, seeking reinforcements to leave the relegation places in the Premier League, looking to close the deal as soon as possible, since Thursday is the deadline to ensure players on the market of winter. 10:04 - 01/30/2013 www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=379469

This is QPR we are talking about. Always guaranteed we will pay whopping amounts of cash to buy our way, hopefully, out of trouble.
Not sure why anyone on here would ever be in any doubt?
There are tribes in African Bush villages untouched by civilisation who know QPR have money to burn in every transfer window.

QPR are poised to complete the signing of Chris Samba after agreeing a three-and-a-half-year deal with the defender. The club missed out when he joined Anzhi Makhachkala from Blackburn last year but Samba was unhappy in Russia, and Rangers have long been planning a move to capture him in this transfer window. He made his name at Blackburn under Mark Hughes, who was confident of eventually bringing him back to England. Rangers retained their interest following Hughes’ sacking as manager, while current boss Harry Redknapp is an admirer of the 28-year-old and discussed signing him while in charge at Tottenham. Samba, whose release clause in his Anzhi contract was activated by QPR’s bid for him, will complete his move once the final details of the contract have been ironed out and he undergoes a medical. He could make his debut in Saturday’s home match against Norwich. Meanwhile, QPR look increasingly likely to complete a deal to take Peter Crouch back to Loftus Road from Stoke. But, as things stood on Wednesday afternoon, Jamie Mackie will be staying put despite speculation he could move in the opposite direction.www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/west-london-sport-qpr/rangers-agree-three-and-a-half-year-samba-deal
