I've been living in W and NW London for many years so QPR have always been my London team. Didn't do much about it, though, until I became mates with some QPR fans who got me into attending midweek home games three seasons back. Really enjoyed it, started going to more are more games, got a membership last year and started bringing my (then) six year old boy. That worked so have gone for season tickets this year.
Even in the four years I've been seriously following the R's I seem to have seen a lifetime of drama and trauma. So what's going on now is especially sweet.
And my seven year old is loving it :-)

Hi! Posted on another QPR message board for a long time (no, not fantasy island) but quit a while ago as a lot of the non-QPR stuff made me feel pretty uncomfortable to say the least, so I didn't want to contribute or visit any more. Shame really. But i've really missed having somewhere online to talk about the R's properly so decided to give here a go after lurking for a bit! Hello, nice to meet you and all that. I'm in my 20s, grew up in East Acton and been coming to matches regularly with my family since I was 4. Moved to the midlands in my early teens, followed us through both relegations, and had a season ticket on and off through the league one and championship days (or div 2 and div 1) in S and T block and doing as many away days as I could. Moved back to London (East now) a few years ago and we all moved our season tickets to R block, and have been there ever since. Still got the season ticket but can't afford to go away so much now. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU RRRRRRRRRRRR's

Hi chaps and chapesses. Need to introduce myself properly so here goes.
Been a long time lurker on here but joined up on Sunday night.
R's fan all my life but live in Bristol so can't get to games much regrettably. Used to post on the old QPR.co.uk messageboard but found the standard of poster pretty much went so far downhill during Briatore and Ecclestone reign that I left and joined Vital QPR.
More intelligent levels of poster on these two QPR site which appeals to me as I have no time for moronic posters.
Still on Vital so will split my time between there and here.
I like the range of topics on here so will pop up from time to time with a comment or two.

My name is Ted been a Qpr fan since being born in the bush in 1959 ground floor flat in Australia road. Love me pie & mash at Cookes . Been eating in there for 45 years and being Qpr fan thats a few pies and lots a mash. My dear old mum been eating it for 87 years and she must be one of the oldest surviving customers. Not really a forum user in the past but thought i would join up because seems to be a friendly sensible site compared to others i could mention . Yes Lonegunmen it is but its not a forgone conclusion yet , i have recently signed the petition online . I would urge others to do the same if they see fit. Its an institution in Shepherds Bush and should be left alone. I am not a fan of jellied eels either but me old mum loves em. I love the liqueur its heaven.

Hi All. Names Keiran and been Rangers fan since I blundered into a league cup match against Leicester in 1967. Living just outside Leicester now and have taken to wearing my retro no.10 top to my local. Looking to travel to as many games as I can get to this year. Hope to see some of you there.

Sorry guy's, I forgot all about this board; just noticed I posted only once in another intro thread; almost 1 year ago & never came back to check on things. Also noticed another guy in Ontario posted stating he didn't know any other Rs in Canada. I'm still a member of the dot.org & WATRBs & sorry to say I have nothing bad to say about either (where's the run for cover emicon?) However, after trawling through your boards, I can see there is a lot of harmony on here that has pulled me back onboard. Nothing has changed from my original intro post; still hate the snow, still get pi ssed when my neighbours call it soccer & the locals still can't work out why I run around my garden with my shirt over my head in the snow when we score. Still following The Toronto Maple Leafs; history & future similar to The Rs; not won anything of mention since 1967, play in blue & white & every season is going to be their season Also just noticed The Mayhew Home logo in some mods signatures; I worked there for 2 years back in mid 80s when it was still sort of run by The RSPCA - hard work & good times. promise this time to try & get back more frequently than once a year to post ;D

I`m a 43 year old primary school teacher who lives in the north (Muswell Hill) , works in the east (Bethnal Green), but has supported Rangers since seeing Gerry Francis on Swap Shop in about 1977. I have never lived close to the Bush, but was delighted to learn that Queen Charlottes hospital (where I was born) was in Hammersmith; I am also half-South African, so it felt somehow right that I should have chosen the club that nestles between Loftus, Bloemfontein and South Africa Roads. A friend`s dad took me to the Clock End at Highbury several times during the Liam Brady era before I`d ever been to Loftus Road, and standing among huge crowds on the terraces in that fine old stadium made a mark, but somehow I remained loyal to Stan Bowles` Hoops. I realize I am in danger of writing a book, and boring you all with my first post. In short, I`ve been a hopeless fan, going off football altogether for years, so that the era of Sir Les, for example, is a closed book to me, but I`ve returned to the fold as a middle- aged man, converting my half-Japanese son. Incidentally it upsets me a bit when people insult "plastic" Japanese tourist fans at Chelsea...Japanese people have a right to watch football after all, my son included. I hate the idea of him feeling uncomfortable because people saw him as somehow not a true Londoner.
In general I am,I guess, more middle class than the average fan, and I sometimes feel a bit too sensitive for football. I think refs are no more incompetent than players or anyone else, and that they are often among the only neutral people in the stadium, just trying their best to do an impossible job. Cheating players annoy me far more. I prefer the attitude of rugby players to refs. I don`t hate anyone (well, hardly anyone), and have never called anyone a c**t. In case I sound totally wet, I should also stress that I love to make a noise and find myself (softly) "Come on you Rssss"-ing to myself at bus stops or walking to work. I`d love it if QPR fans all round the stadium were to make as much noise as a Turkish team or Stoke, but getting behind the team (even when they`re being spanked, like against Fulham), with less hating on the ref, Chelsea, or whoever. Stuff like what the Arsenal fans chanted at Adebayor the other day really disturbs me- I actually stopped going to football for years after attending an Arsenal match in the North Bank where thousands around me hymned "...oh Arsenal, you`ve got me gassing the Jews, sssssssssssss". Call me a Guardian-reading liberal twat (guilty), but really!
Anyway, that`s more than enough, sorry- I bore myself, sometimes. Hello everyone.

The link below makes an enjoyable watch after Sunday`s debacle and was the first Rangers game I went to with my mates. No wonder I was hooked! I loved the old Loft, though the one season (79-80? 80-81?) when home fans were moved to the "West End" (as the new lower School End stand was known) was great; it was so packed and loud that (even though it was tiny) it felt like the Kop! But they had removed the roof of the Loft, so the away fans there could hardly be heard at all. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6v-D-24BzI

Hello fellow R's. Was born just off the Uxbridge Road and a two mintue walk to the ground. went with my dad since 5 (1970) and have been going ever since. Do not post on any other Rangers forums, but read WATRB and thought id join here as it seems a lot more sensible and devoid of all the 'Tough guy ITK banter'.

Has anyone seen Mike Hunt?
(I loved that film - "Porky's", as I was around 20 when it came out and related to the humour. I recently managed to get it on DVD)
