'Lucas Andersen moving to QPR is far from certain, but he's in London so he'll be ready if the pieces fall into place for a reunion with Marti Cifuentes’

It would be a pity to end the window without some QPR speculation so : Villa apparently signing Morgan Rogers from Boro for 8million plus add ons to 16 million. Boro likely will come in late for Willock to replace him. - that way at least we might get a couple of thousand for him if true. A couple of thousand? Hope we get a bit more than that. Wont be much as he doesn't have long on his contract but surely a million or so? Normally yes but the way we do business I would not be surprised to see us pay him off

All these rumours - the truth though is we are only signing one person - Donald Trump.
He just posted on X
"You know it's true - only I can make QPR great again. First thing is to change those shirts to the stars and stripes ,and the away kit will be the old Confederate Flag. Then all the players have to play wearing red baseball caps printed with "Make QPR Great Again". Then I'll sue any club that say they beat us. We do not lose, everyone knows it- we always win - the whole Championship is a fraud and referees who are bribed to lose count of goals - I want a recount , you'll see - QPR are top of the league and my "boys" are on standby to make sure it happens. All you supporters need to do is donate 100 million to my campaign fund - you know it makes sense. God Bless Marti and QPR"

Macauley Bonne gone on loan from Gillingham to Cambridge (sigh!). Cambridge will no doubt see much off-side flag waving.....

If we can keep Chair, move on Willock (take whatever we can) and bring in a CM and Winger, then decent window. But leaving it late!

What a crazy window January is. Especially for Championship Clubs. Most clubs sit on their hands for about 28 days, with no money for new players or loan fees. Playing fringe players in January games because several of their squad are at the Africas Cup. Prem clubs demand high loan fees, and even then are not prepared to release until the 11th hour because they too have players at the Africas. Hodge was needed for the Wolves bench last night, the game finishing at 10pm and so we had an hour to complete paperwork that no doubt was prepared well in advance. Overlay that with the post-Brexit work permit situation, and clubs cannot be sure if they have secured overseas players. Frey is apparently still not registered and Lucas Anderson, may or may not have signed for us yesterday - who knows? But how does a club balance a squad with these uncertainties. Isacc Heyden had presumably been in the mix for longer because there was time to get him to Heston for photos and interview, but how many clubs signed players on the blind yesterday? Then Championship clubs are linked with numerous potential deals, because they all have 'several irons in the fire'. But as they can also only have a squad of 25, the panic to unload ripples down. So throughout the pyramid, as Prem sides lower their loan fee expectations, the scramble kicks off again, and futures are decided in a matter of hours. All this feeding the Sky Transfer Centre frenzy that became far more important event than the actual football being played last night. So much money sloshing about, Forest shedding 11 players, kneejerk purchases, impulse releases, the future decided by a lottery. I must admit that I did not think we had the infrastructure or connections in place to participate yesterday, but it seems that we did. It gives the fans a good feeling when fresh blood is added, especially if they feel they have windowed better than their rivals but come on.....daft init?

If we can get Anderson in on a free - reports say he terminated contract so we can sign as free agent - then decent window as long as Frey gets up to fitness quickly.
More options now in the midfield 3 so expect Dykes reverts back to striker role leaving 3 from Field, Colback, Dixon-Bonner, Hayden and Hodge to choose from, and front 3 options now Chair, Willock, Armstrong, Dykes, Smyth, Frey and Anderson which is not too bad

We need someone who can take a set piece, and he looks handy. But one big change this window was that nothing leaked from the club. All stories were coming from players' agents or their current club. It may be because of the departed personnel who chose to unofficially update supporters through West London Sport. Or it may be that West London Sport seem to have lost interest in QPR. Dave Mc and Ian no longer the font of all knowledge, maintaining radio silence. The club has never mentioned Anderson, his agent is ex-QPR forward who seems convinced that he had a medical with QPR yesterday.... in days gone by WLS would have confirmed or denounced such talk. I certainly put far more store by a tale from WLS than most outlets and clickbait sites. So it is a shame that apart from a match report and player ratings, it seems it is no more! But Anderson is in London, he is now a free agent, and we could still sign him therefore even though the window has closed SHUT!

They seemed to be pretty aggressive in this window (though January ended 5 days ago!)
The common theme seems to be attack minded players. I hope that the goals finally follow.

Interesting stats for our 4 signings in the window: Points to appearances: Joe Hodge: 1.83 (6 apps) Isaac Hayden: 1.75 (8 apps) Lucas Andersen: 1.57 (7 apps) Michael Frey: 1.57 (7 apps) So far so good
