The Scottish international has just 18 months left on his deal and is being scouted by a number of Championship clubs. Though QPR are 12th in the table, they are only just four points off the playoff positions, with Dykes an important member of their squad. Lyndon Dykes is the subject of interest with just 18 months left on his contract at QPR Lyndon Dykes is the subject of interest with just 18 months left on his contract at QPR In 27 Championship games, Dykes has scored six goals, including braces against Reading and Cardiff City. Dykes has made over 100 appearances for the club since he joined from Scottish Premiership side Livingston back in August 2020 for £2m. Among the clubs looking at the 27-year-old, include Championship leaders Burnley and struggling Stoke City. There have also previously been in reports that Scottish giants Rangers could look to sign Dykes. Rangers boss Michael Beale left QPR back in November after just five months as manager.

Interesting tactics from QPR 1. Make the Millwall bid public - just as Millwall did with MacNamara last Summer 2. Set the benchmark for G Rangers 3. Tell WLS that the Millwalll bid was not £3m, but instead rising to £3m 4. Let it be known that two other clubs are interested, and that we are open to sell Dykes. Think he will be gone this window - but probably to G Rangers. QPR probably want £3m rising to £4m with a fair chunk up front.

Think he will be gone this window - but probably to G Rangers. QPR probably want £3m rising to £4m with a fair chunk up front. Sounds about right but not sure that Beale will take him now. 3 million rising to 4 million sounds about right for a striker these days - after all he is a Scotland International and probably will grab more goals in the Millwall /Stoke style of play. Interesting that with us he averages a goal every 4 games - other names we have been linked with average one every 5 games. Food for thought is Dykes the problem or the way we use him - a mixture of both probably. With 18 months left on his contract now would be best time to sell him money wise as his value will only decline if he stays longer. So if we are open to him going now we need to be careful not to price him too high and lose all the bidders leaving us with a potential free or "mutual agreement " deal in the not so distant future if he does not want to re-sign or he is not in our longer term plans. Raises some interesting questions. If we want 3 rising to 4 million what will the add ons be based on? Appearances, goals scored, teams reaching the play-offs, avoiding relegation ? I am finding it difficult to come up with a realistic answer worth 1 million extra. Also if we are open to let him go do we have someone (or 2) lined up - either loans or signings. Surely we cannot to offload him without at least one, preferably 2 coming in - or maybe it gives the option to partner Roberts and Lowe as a front 2 but leave ourselves terribly exposed with Roberts injury record. Last thought - based on the list of striker flops that Ricky listed yesterday - We have a DoF who was a top notch goal scorer in his days so you would think he would know what we need and identify a couple of good ones - trouble is I think anyone he sees meeting what we need is going to be out of our budget so I get the feeling if Dykes goes we will be in the loan market and see where things stand in the summer. Not a good situation I think.

Maybe get Wells back he probably gets a goal every three or four games, with Chair and Willock behind him he would have got double what Dykes has got the last two years.

But of course when they’re eventually gone for a pittance we’ll be able to watch them excel at their new club. That’s the QPR way.

Usually that’s true Blatant but apart from Dykes which I’m Sure will happen I can’t really see it with the rest. Yes we need to replace, which won’t be cheap.

Masterson has gone out on loan - best for all concerned I think and should save a few pennies
Thomas - we want him out and so does he but his current injury is a problem . I can see a "mutual consent" departure on deadline day to solve that.
Keep Murphy has gone on loan as well. Worries me a bit as I would prefer him above Archer as our back-up and only hope that Seny does not go at the last minute.
Doing things right to move on the fringe players who are not in our plans and maybe freeing up some wages for another loan signing.
All quiet on incomings as far as I can see but Critchley said he wanted to strengthen both the defence and attack. Maybe Lowe is all he wanted upfront but does he want an experienced CB with Balogan injured.?
Fingers crossed there are no last minute recalls of Tim I or Laird but I fear we may see the last day merry go round and maybe the squad ending up weaker.

Forest are looking to offload Steve Cook on loan for the rest of the season. If we can get over the fact he snubbed us at the last minute last season he would be an asset of experience at the back for us.

Glad this is over now till the summer.
The inevitable toxic entitled "fans" will no doubt be all over Twitter bemoaning how we have no ambition because we didn't ignore FFP rules and sign an overpriced mediocre striker for the sake of signing someone, and will "politely request" that the board, who are funding this club for their enjoyment, sell up and leave.
Oh for the good old days of QPR spending millions on deadline days past for aged injury prone players who had no desire to play for us and took us to the brink of financial disaster.
Unbelievable!

So in summary. Who has left permanently, Who's out on loan? Who have we signed permanently and whom have we loaned in? Please. It's just getting confusing .

But then Richards (supposedly the second Willock) has hardly kicked a ball, Roberts has spent more time on the injury table than playing. Iroegbunam started off well but is terribly out of form (since Beale left really). That leaves Laird who I think has done really well and Lowe who I think will deliver a few goals and assists and move us forward. But to sum it up we are in the position that if we want PL loans the only people we will pick up are those looking to get some game time to get fit or young players looking to gain experience. Hopefully Johansen will partner Field today but expect him to be a bit rusty, hope Laird and Paal or minimum one of them are fit and maybe even we get adventurous and play 2 up front - doubt that will happen though.

Just seen the team - Paal and Laird both playing - Clarke -Slater in for Dickie is a good move, better player and Dickie so short of confidence and full of mistakes. Roberts and Richards not in the squad. Only change I would have made maybe would be to play Amos instead of Dozzell but that will be a good sub. Chair and Willock both in to partner Lowe.

Umm not sure how I feel on this one. Always disliked his playing methods if truthful, always thought he was a wind up merchant. If the club thinks he’s an answer to our immediate problems so be it. 15 goals in 88 matches at Bristol City doesn’t set the world on fire but I suppose it’s a body, someone to replace Dykes whilst poorly.
