From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/weeks-qpr-transfer-rumoursThis week’s QPR transfer rumoursBy West London Sport 26/05/2017 The QPR hierarchy have been meeting in Singapore to discuss their transfer plans. Near the top of the list of issues to be addressed is the possible sale of youngster Josh Bowler to Everton. West London Sport revealed this week that an offer for the 18-year-old winger had been rejected, but an improved offer is now being considered by Rangers. There has also been some speculation about who could be joining QPR during the summer window. Scottish media reports have linked QPR with countless players in the last year or so. And R’s scouts Gary Penrice and Kevin Reeves turning up at Ibrox to watch Glasgow Rangers play Aberdeen led to QPR being linked with McLean. The Daily Express claimed QPR are considering making a £1m bid for the Aberdeen midfielder. As explained when West London Sport revealed that Penrice and Reeves were set to head-up a new-look scouting team at QPR, Reeves has frequently looked to Scotland for players.

If they sell Smithies which they probably will do, then maybe a years deal will be done as cover. I seem to recall Cerny being a good back up that never moaned not playing and passing useful information over to our younger keepers at he same time. No question Given could do the same.

From thisisfutbol thisisfutbol.com/2017/05/blogs/premier-league/everton-table-second-bowler-bid/EVERTON TABLE SECOND BOWLER BIDDate: 27th May 2017 at 12:14pm Written by: This is Futbol Everton have tabled a second bid for QPR winger sensation Josh Bowler, according to Get West London. The London-based website claims that the Merseysiders have upped their initial £3million offer for the teenage ace, 17. Get West London report that Championship side QPR rejected Everton’s opening bid, amounting to £500,000 up front plus the rest in add-ons, on Tuesday. The Premier League club have now returned to the negotiating table in an attempt to force the second-tier outfit into a sale. It is not reported how much the fresh offer is worth, and QPR’s response is not known, but it demonstrates how keen Everton are to sign a player who first-team experience amounts to 21 minutes as a substitute in Rangers’ 4-0 defeat to Norwich two weeks ago in the final weekend of the Championship season. Right-winger Bowler signed professional terms with QPR in February in a deal that runs until the summer of 2018. Everton have showed in the last two transfer windows since Ronald Koeman took over as manager that they are prepared to spend big on youngsters who they regard as having huge potential. Young forwards Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman arrived last summer and in January from Sheffield United and Charlton respectively and have been given many first-team opportunities.

From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-talk-qpr-looking-free-13099581Transfer Talk: QPR looking at free-agent Shay Given in case Alex Smithies move materialisesGiven, who has a wealth of top-flight experience with the likes of Newcastle, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Stoke City, has been released by the Potters this summer and would be a shrewd addition to the R's should they need to replace the current number one. BY PHIL SPENCER 10:00, 28 MAY 2017 QPR have been linked with a move for veteran goalkeeper Shay Given if Alex Smithies' move to the Premier League materialises. Smithies has been discussed this week as a potential target for promotion contenders Huddersfield Town, and the 24-year old could yet be tempted if his hometown club are victorious in today's Play-Off final against Reading. Given, who has a wealth of top-flight experience with the likes of Newcastle, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Stoke City, has been released by the Potters this summer and would be a shrewd addition to the R's should they need to replace the current number one. Speaking to the Huddersfield Daily Examiner about his future earlier this week, Smithies said: "I don't know, it's hard to say isn't it.
“I don't know anything about the rumours but it is my club and in the long-term future who knows what's going to happen?
“Right now I'm happy at QPR and I've got three years left on my contract so I'm in no rush to get out.”If Smithies was to leave then Given would certainly be seen as a more than ample replacement, should he be interested in a move to the Championship.

BY PHIL SPENCER 14:51, 28 MAY 2017 With Queens Park Rangers putting an emphasis on value for money in the transfer market this summer, they may wish to look no further than Exeter City's exciting midfielder Ollie Watkins. The 21-year-old has taken all the plaudits after an outstanding campaign in League Two, which has seen him score 15 goals and get seven assists. Such has been the success of Watkins' season, he scooped the League Two Young Player of the Year award and has been widely touted for a move to the Championship this summer. Interested parties for the hot prospect include the likes of Leeds United, Bristol City and Aston Villa, and QPR will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on the youngster who appears to tick all of the boxes for their requirements.

Also, what does Redknapp have to do with it (I assume that's who you mean by "redcrap", it's a shame that some can discus these things without resorting to personal abuse)?

Our last set of published accounts showed a loss of £11m; this season our parachute payments drop. We need to be making profits on selling players to have any chance of breaking even, forget paying off debt. The decision is whether we can make more money by developing him further and receiving a higher transfer fee assuming that he will sign an extended contract, if he won't do that we risk losing him for whatever a tribunal decide is fair reward (unless that system has been scraped). We will still be able to attract young players if they see our club as a stepping stone to bigger clubs (which Ferdinand has said is one of his aims), in fact if they see this in action it will probably make it easier to attract promising young players.

Can't believe that some people think that we can turn down offers like this and expect to improve on last season! We need funds to strengthen the squad and the only way we are going to get these funds - until we have a new stadium - is by selling players from time to time! Josh Bowler was not considered Championship first team last season and possibly isn't quite there next season either. So why loan him back to us? If he stays with us he's more likely to go on loan to a L1 or L2 club. Or is he suddenly a better player than Shodipo? JB is clearly one for the future and not that likely to sign a contract extension next season if good PL clubs are interested in him already. And here's the thing...if we sell JB we may not need to sell Smithies. However, if Matt Ingram is going to excel in the Championship why not sell BOTH of them (Bowler and Smithies)and then we'd have a decent amount of funds to strengthen our squad without really weakening it all. The best thing about this is that we are now producing young players with a decent sell-on value. Absolutely vital if we are to thrive and what our new training is partially designed for. This means we have choices - sell promising youngsters and keep more developed first team players; or sell players we have developed into good first team players and bring the youngster through. Encouraging signs. Sense.

I don't think this was what Rangersman was saying, Fabs. I think he was making a statement about people who referred to Redknapp by that puerile pseudonym, how they wanted him out despite the fact that we were never outside the playoff places the season he got us back to the Premier League. I would suggest, though, that the logic on here is a lot sounder than the logic on certain other QPR fan boards we could mention. And most of the time we're bad on the pitch because we've been run by a guy who had more interest in developing property on Old Oak Common than on making sensible decisions that would benefit the football team. But that's another story for another day.

I was gonna reply about that - think that's a really important point. I can see the argument that people could leave if they don't think QPR are a team going somewhere but I think talented, ambitious young players are encouraged to think more broadly and more independently. More like, am I going to get a chance to play in the first team and be noticed? If I think I can play at the top level, will I get a chance here? If I don't, am I developing here and getting in the shop window? Am I improving? If anything, a club that hangs on to players in the face of significant higher level interest is more likely to put off younger talent. If we were selling anyone and everyone good at the club, sure, that would be stupid. But if you've got a Prem club putting serious money down for a young player and they want to go, I'd be annoyed as a fan (cos I'd want to see any good youngster stick about) but it makes sense for us to take the money. The message is if you come to QPR, you'll get a chance at the first team if you're good enough, you'll get games and you'll get better. Better to be here than on West Brom's bench or whatever.

Also, what does Redknapp have to do with it (I assume that's who you mean by "redcrap"...) 'Arry is [allegedly] after Conor Washington. However, it does seem that rumour is just another example of extremely lazy journalism and/or creation of 'click bait'. It seems that Washington was mentioned as possible signing on a Birmingham City fan blog. Get West London then expanded that to a 'rumour'. The Birmingham Mail then picked up on the GWL non-story and further embellished it in a story entitled, "Conor Washington: All you need to know about the reported Birmingham City transfer target"What a load of utter b******s www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/conor-washington-you-need-know-13107368

BY PHIL SPENCER 14:50, 30 MAY 2017 UPDATED 15:16, 30 MAY 2017 SPORT QPR's Yeni N'Gbakoto is rumoured to be attracting interest from France's top flight, after speculation that he is unsettled in West London. The 25-year-old joined the Hoops from Metz last summer on a three-year deal, but struggled to settle following a family bereavement and a long-term thigh injury. He chose the West London side despite interest from Toulouse and a number of other Ligue 1 clubs, who are thought to be interested in offering the DR Congo international a return to France this summer. It remains to be seen whether the winger is seen as part of manager Ian Holloway's plans for next season, as he and Director of Football Les Ferdinand start to forge their plans for the upcoming campaign. If deemed surplus to requirements, the club would be likely to want to recoup the fee they paid under a year ago. N'Gbakoto made 26 appearances for the R's last season scoring four goals.

From London News Online www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/24969/qpr-chasing-loan-deal-watford-defender/QPR chasing loan deal for Watford defenderBy Richard Cawley - May 30, 2017 QPR boss Ian Holloway wants Watford defender Tommie Hoban on loan. The 23-year-old spent the last campaign at Blackburn Rovers and played 11 times before suffering a dislocated shoulder which ruled him out March. Hoban scored in a 1-0 win at fellow Championship strugglers Nottingham Forest in mid-April but the Ewood Park outfit lost their fight to stay in the second tier of English football. Hoban still has four years to run on his Hornets deal and Holloway wants to give him a further taste of first-team action in west London.

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-everton-josh-bowler-contract-latest-310517QPR ready to offer new contract to Everton target BowlerBy David McIntyre 31/05/2017 QPR plan to offer Josh Bowler a new contract in an attempt to keep the teenage winger. Everton recently made an improved offer for Bowler, 18, after having a bid rejected. That remains on the table and, although Rangers are ready to discuss a new deal for Bowler, there appears to be a strong chance he will move. Everton’s offer to Rangers, potentially worth more than £3m, is tempting, and their offer to Bowler would be significantly more lucrative than the wages he could earn at Loftus Road. His current contract, which he signed in February, has a year left to run and QPR are prepared to sell if he is unwilling to sign new terms. Bowler made his senior debut when he came on as a second-half substitute for the R’s at Norwich during the final match of the season. He was signed in 2013, having previously been on Fulham’s books.
